It is actually warning any nearby coyotes that there's some possible danger. It has clearly picked out the cameraman (or the blind, if he is in one). The coyote knows something is out of place, but isn't sure what it is. That's called a warning bark.
This is a juvenile, a pup a few months old. Adults don't sound like that, but more substantial. I've lived for many years in the Sonoran desert, and the nightly coyote calls were a lullaby.
Not a juvenile. This is a seasoned vet. This bark/howl is a warning to others (coyotes) in the area. A coyotes worst enemy is its curiosity. That's why it sang the way it did. You can see it look right at the camera and tell on you. Amazing animals.
RCT3Crashes100 Actually they are. If they aren't in the same genus as wolves, they are not canine. Coyotes are described as members of the "dog" family and their scientific name is "canis latrans". Coyotes are in the same genus ad wolves and dogs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coyote
Charlie Daniels almost happened to me last year I saw one standing in the field behind my house and my first thought was its a stray dog. Before I could go over to get a closer look it took off bounding after some wild jackrabbit and i realized what it was. Very surprising considering I like near a pretty busy road that runs along this field and in 6 years that was the first coyote I'd seen
Funny.. ive actually made that mistake.... saw what i thought was a wounded dog limping on the street.. pulled over to follow him.. when we got close enough my fiance was like... "no babe,.. thats a cyote..".. he was walking fine at this point but still i worried so i called it in.. and left. Im sure cops or animal services shiwed up to the area later..
I was talking with somebody about how a bunch of coyotes howling in the middle of the night is a chilling sound and wanted to find a clip that matches what I've heard, but this little guy is adorable. Ruff ruff! :3
I don't see why people hate coyotes so much. They're my favourite canine. I think they look a lot more beautiful than wolves. I get that they attack people and pets, but so would wolves and many other wild predators if they lived close to cities and towns. Hell, tigers have a reputation for attack and eating humans in places where they're found, and typically tigers don't live near cities and towns. It makes me kind of sad that so many people hate these animals.
Yes we hate these animals. They keep killing our goats, and leave them half eaten alive and my family has to go out there and finish the job and put our goats out of suffering with a rifle. Wolves atleast puncture the neck, wait for them to die and then eat them. Coyotes go straight for the stomach and eat them alive. So we kill everyone we see!
skullflame887 They tore the back ends off of my friend's goats, like actually ripped them apart and the goats had to be put down. Yeah, I really love coyotes 😉. Oh, and I can't forget to mention how many dogs they've killed.
danielle alyssa shes got a point they are a nuisance to farmers and rural neighborhoods. the population needs to be controlled so they are hunted to contain thier population
I love this! What a sweet coyote! I love his yelps and how he sits so adorably! is he hearing your sounds too? Thank you so much bowtech for sharing this majestic moment!
T C I have never heard of a situation where a person was killed by coyotes, ever. Far more people are attacked and killed by deer every year, Nice logic eh?
T C Now that I looked it up, there are two recorded fatalities caused by coyotes ever. I know that in some areas coyotes are destructive to local wildlife and need their population managed, but saying that you kill them because they kill people is ignorant and wrong.
i live in south texas and i hear coyotes so much cause i live in the middle of nowhere you're so lucky to have gotten to see them during day and had your camera !! i'm literally outside at like 11 pm playing this hoping i can see one ;-;
I just had a whole pack pass by my property. I'll tell you one thing, it sure is creepy when everything goes silent afterwards. I promptly got my ass inside at that point.
if you think THAT is bad, Look up " vixen scream" got one that prowls my yard and fucking screams half the night. at least it is not bothering anything.
Right behind my house we have a bayou and sometimes really late at night I can hear em howling from my backyard. but what would they be doing in our bayou?
I live in the Oregon Coast Range and have had numerous encounters with coyotes over the years. Once I had a huge, alpha male sneak up on me while I was splitting firewood. I pissed all in a circle all around the firewood and he immediately backed off. He laid down and silently watched me sweat for well over an hour. With have 3,000 acres of commercial timberland behind our barn and our tiny, 30-acre ranch, it can never be developed -- hence the reason I bought the place. Our closest neighbor is up and over the hill, and through a thick forest of Western Cedar, Hemlock, Maple and Douglas Fir. Our driveway is a half-mile long gravel road, our home is secluded in the woods on a summit, hidden from the closest road. We rescue dogs from the humane society and have never lost one to a coyote. Our canine family and the wild coyote family respect each other's boundaries. Once a young female coyote was shot by some asshole -- probably a fat, uneducated republican who never served a day in the military protecting our homeland -- and died near our home. For three weeks, each night at dusk, a whole family of coyotes would come to the edge of our horse pasture and gather, solemnly looking towards where their youngster had died. I asked a Shoshone friend of mine -- who like me has a masters from Arizona Sate University and has done two tours in Viet Nam: he as a Lt. Col., me as a First Lt. Marine on board the aircraft Carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) (that's where we met and became life long friends). He studies the family and being a wildlife biologist, wrote a paper on their grieving process; it was amazing. I eventually found the man who shot the young female coyote, and I was right. A stupid, uneducated Tea Party Republican who was in need of a Marine Boot Camp BADLY, where he might have lost those pounds and had a shitty attitude adjusted. Coyotes are beautiful animals, but dangerous. Do NOT approach them, just respect them and allow them to live out their lives. Unfortunately, like the indigenous people from America, the Great Plains Bison, Cougar and many more, arrogant Americans have encroached and destroyed these creatures for doing NOTHING more than trying to exist. I have existed for over 20-years with them, without any incident. I apologize for not being polite or politically correct when referring to my fellow white man, but I am embarrassed and disgusted to be one of them, but that's why I live in the woods, to get away from their less than stellar decisions.
This is a warning bark/howl. Like, I know you are there, and I want you to leave. Plus she is warning all other coyotes that there is something unwanted in this territory.
A wolf or a tiger would probably also try and attack your dog, even other dogs would probably try and attack your dog, yet they all get more love than coyotes, just keep your dog out of the wild and love nature, coyotes are just as bad as any other animal out there, love the Coyote
very rare a wolf would do so.. a tiger is more likely but you don't see them running around Normally.. Unless one escapes a zoo or sanctuary. I love foxes and wolves but they get killed by people too. Foxes are cute and tame easily.
Two weekends ago, I was out in the outskirts of Shelton WA at a race track over night. My son and i got the idea to walk the pitch black track after dark. No sooner did we get to the higher elevations of this track than does a gaggle of those damn things start making all kinds of noise off about a mile at the most. Let me tell you, That sends a real chill up your spine when your flashlight can only pierce so much of the darkness. And that trach is like 2.5 miles, so at walking speed, you're up there a while.
aaaaaa he's so cute!! here in MA (and new england in general), our coyotes are big and scary ;u; and i had a close encounter with one, which my 17 lb mini schnauzer chased off (she refused to be a coyote snack). despite that, i still love them and respect them! just not at the risk of losing my dog LOL
the thing to note is coyotes bark more and their howls are higher pitched and more erratic than wolves! :) wolves' howls are deeper and often drawn out, sometimes sounding mournful and melancholic.
A wolf has a longer howl. Coyotes yip and bath, and have short howls, as well as being higher pitched. A wolf howling will send a shiver down your spine, and raised the hair on the back of your neck. Wolves also have a more musical note, while coyotes are usually discordant, especially when there is more than one.
You sure that isn't a coywolf or something? It doesn't look like a pure coyote to me (almost Ethiopian wolf-like), but I'd say this animal is either a coyote/wolf mix or a coyote/dog mix or possibly mixed with all 3? Regardless it's a really beautiful animal nonetheless.
What kind of Vocalization is this? Did this yote see you and then start in or did you see it and then hide to film this when you start mouth squeaking he gets nervous . looks like a coy-dog to me but im new to yote hunting. I need English subtitles, I don't know what he's saying.
erinandcompany it’s talking about roadrunner.
It is actually warning any nearby coyotes that there's some possible danger. It has clearly picked out the cameraman (or the blind, if he is in one). The coyote knows something is out of place, but isn't sure what it is. That's called a warning bark.

Yep, warning.
A "lullaby" to you, terror to mice, rabbits, birds, snakes, and children . . .
Coyotes are so adorable! They're like little mini wolves!
wolves and Coyotes are related
+SuperThunderBolt2™ They're in the same genus as wolves and dogs.

I did say they were in the same genus.
New channel - Kokkino what was that for😂
Jesus knowing my generous ass I would mistake this for a stray dog and try to rescue it...
Brandon McDonnell Ikr same😂

Lol he was barking too he so cute
Nice profile pic
Am I the only one that seez the punisher logo on its chest...?
I see it, too.
That coyote's name is now Frank.
Leisa TheGreat Since Frank happens to be mine and my father's name, God rest his soul, do you mind me asking why you arrived at that name?
RogueVoltron.
More like the Spawn logo
abc def because that's the punishers name

i recorded coyotes in my neighborhood tonight. i will upload the video
yes I live in western Pennsylvania and they are crazy at night and hard to go to sleep to
They don’t howl in packs they literally scream
Theyre terrifying to listen to at night
Yeah
Too many people here recognize the "cuteness" of this coyote pup without recognizing just how ferocious this wild animal actually is.
ferocious? maybe to cats, but not humans
song name?
lol

+TennesseeOutlaw you moved onto their land, not the other way around.
A thalmor justiciar I like wolves better :) but coyotes are OK! the only reason I don't like them very much is bc they attacked my dog
A thalmor justiciar people hate them because they kill and usually eat domesticated dogs
Wolf Link is life I'm part Lynx and they are pretty awesome more awesome then wolfs
Cute individual coyote. What an adorable call and pretty pattern!
Coyotes need more love.
Agreed!
It's my spirit animal :)
skullflame887 They tore the back ends off of my friend's goats, like actually ripped them apart and the goats had to be put down. Yeah, I really love coyotes 😉. Oh, and I can't forget to mention how many dogs they've killed.
danielle alyssa shes got a point they are a nuisance to farmers and rural neighborhoods. the population needs to be controlled so they are hunted to contain thier population
they are BAD ASS predators tho. amazing creatures. even tho they are a nuisance they need to be respected. both out of awe and fear
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
Hellooooooooo!
Hey, hey, hey, hey, Hellooooooooooo!!!
Ember Ash this just made my day how cute!!
I cant get that out of my head now
Excellent video. Coyotes are amazing. We ought to educate the public about them. They are part of our cities...Thank you!
Such a pretty animal
I love this! What a sweet coyote! I love his yelps and how he sits so adorably! is he hearing your sounds too? Thank you so much bowtech for sharing this majestic moment!
Handsome one. Beautiful coloring
Remember - True Men Don't Kill Coyotes
But remember it's OK, for a pack of coyotes to kill a human. Nice logic eh? Hence why I have several coyote tails in my man cave. ;)
T C It's a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers & I love coyotes. Judging by your comment, you must be a real class act, buddy.
T C Watch out guys we have another badass with a gun
T C I have never heard of a situation where a person was killed by coyotes, ever. Far more people are attacked and killed by deer every year, Nice logic eh?

waking up to this scares the shit outta me
Pete Zuhut you sleep outside? Bro ha ha.
yea lol
Pete Zuhut thats a terrible idea!!!! Go back inside!!! Beds are more comfortable and you wont get coyotes gnawing on your toes as you sleep!!!
Ever single night for me, they wake me out of a coma type sleep and my heart beats like a motherfucker. Lmao scares the hell out of me.
This is some really awesome footage! Thank you for the upload! :)
Such a beautiful creature, like so many others, misunderstood and needlessly persecuted by man
very wrong statement my friend. couldnt be more wrong
I just had a whole pack pass by my property. I'll tell you one thing, it sure is creepy when everything goes silent afterwards. I promptly got my ass inside at that point.

My dog was confuzzled
I honestly think coyotes are more interesting than wolves, I love how their howl is more different than a wolves too.
Beautiful

Liberal college professors taught u to hate yourself. Relax it's ok to be white
You are amusing. I have known plenty of college educated, athletic, military veterans who vote/voted Democrat who hunt coyotes.
This is a warning bark/howl. Like, I know you are there, and I want you to leave. Plus she is warning all other coyotes that there is something unwanted in this territory.
my dog started barking like crazy while I was watching this
Thank you. Well documented!
It’s beautiful, where did you film this
They're cute until they try to attack your dog
A wolf or a tiger would probably also try and attack your dog, even other dogs would probably try and attack your dog, yet they all get more love than coyotes, just keep your dog out of the wild and love nature, coyotes are just as bad as any other animal out there, love the Coyote
My foy was etan by 1
Here in FL a lady was walking her dog in broad daylight in her neighborhood and a coyote came and snatched up the dog (with leash) and took off.
yes FINALLY someone GETS IT.. THANK YOU Rachel B
very rare a wolf would do so.. a tiger is more likely but you don't see them running around Normally.. Unless one escapes a zoo or sanctuary. I love foxes and wolves but they get killed by people too. Foxes are cute and tame easily.
Never knew a coyote could give you permission to record him....
This cute lil coyote looks almost like he's the size of a wolf....he looks big especially from a distance.
Odi Is that a problem? You know, not all furries are those creeps, that some people think of. I'm just an Anthro artist.
Odi It's fine. It was an honest mistake.
Odi did I see fellow fluff butts
Yep, it was barking to locate its buddies.

great vid cept for the kissy sounds
LOL He was looking at you like, "'R you serious, dude?" -stare-
This made my dog bark 🐕
he's barking to tell his pack there might be danger and then howling to tell them where he is, so they came.
Beautiful coyote

One of the out here in NJ ate two small dogs!! The woman was devastated, they sadly killed the coyote though!
DJaySplitSecond yeah, i'd be devastated, too ;___; coyotes are beautiful and misunderstood creatures, but they're also pretty unafraid of humans.....
+DJaySplitSecond Isn't it cannibalism for a canine to eat another canine?
I heard that the ones found in New England are actually wolf/coyote/dog hybrids...
Best audio I have heard for coyote on youtube. We heard this last night camping and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a wolf. lol

Looks like a piebald coyote to me. Definitely not a coywolf but could be a coydog.
This whole time I thought my neighborhood had a sad stray dog....
That's a warning howl. Basically he is saying I see you and I want you to get the hell out of here. Plus it warns other coyotes.
His markings are gorgeous :0
Aww he's so adorable
I love the patterning on this one! Very beautiful!
I wonder did dogs inherit these vocalizations from coyotes and wolves
What kind of Vocalization is this? Did this yote see you and then start in or did you see it and then hide to film this when you start mouth squeaking he gets nervous . looks like a coy-dog to me but im new to yote hunting. How many yotes were in the pack and how long did it take them to get to this yote once it started in on it call?
that's not a Howl at all, it's called a warning bark and it's kind of a bad thing in the coyote hunting world
Awww so cute
what's the difference between a coyote and a jackal ? ?
+Francesco Nesci thank you
Nice capture! And what lovely markings on the coyote.
Yeah!
so cute! love them
TheSilverAquila is correct, it's a coyote. Not many people get to see the underside of a coyote as shown in this film and that's why his color pattern looks different from what you usually see. I live near Coyotes. What should I do when one come towards me?
What should I do about my dog when she sees a coyote? She's a 100lb German Shepherd. Should I let her bark at the coyote, or should I hold her so she doesn't get attacked?
What a handsome critter
aww i love his little barks
Yup that’s definitely a coyote that I hear in the woods.
Aww, so cute ❤
Where was this at?
An animal can still be cute even when dangerous.
I lived in the country for 20 yrs. I had a small pack in the back acrea . I went outside and howled as loud as I could to chase them away. A couple nights ,bye bye Coyotes.
Either it was good howl or they were tired of hearing it!
we have coyotes down here in texas. I live in the woodlands, my mom used to tell my brothers to be wary of coyotes. All of them got chased into the outer part of the suburb, though, so I never get to see these beautiful animals
He wants to sing the Macarena so badly. He’s trying. He’s....trying.
I love them Coyotes, just love them!❤🐺❤
I had to search coyote howls because its been so long since I heard any, here in the H. I heard that barking sound this morning. I didn't know they barked till today. Little bit more high pitched and raw sounding than my Jack Russel.
Why would people want to hunt down these wonderful animals?
The coyote could sense you so he knew something want right so he began to howl for his packmates
Coyotes are my favorite canine(other than foxes). 1like means 1heart toward coyotes. For the coyotes!
All you have to know is he's spitting straight facts.
First and foremost, any hapless dog hanging around this back country would be on the menu. He's 100% Mexican coyote from the state of Tamaulipas.
Yep yep yep yepYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
I have a coyote that sits in my yard and howls
Gonna blast this over a Bluetooth speaker and see what kind of reaction I get
I love coyotes I hate how people are mean to them and wolves... 💔
0:10 The noise I make everytime I'm at a party
Such a majestic animal.
Alessandro Torres Ever seen one rip the throat out of a calf as it is being born? Or see the carcas of a dead deer fawn that had been shredded by coyotes?
+Hr BeStalkinMe No. They are still fucking pretty as shit.
From my limited knowledge this is an alarm bark. Basically the coyote saying I dont like you here go away.
Nevermind, it was a fisher and an owl, but maybe a coyote...
Wonder what kind of purchase history he has with Acme Solutions, Inc.
I hear the same exact thing right outside my window lol
I hear this in my neighbors field. It's absolutely awesome!
What a lovely voice!
TRANSLATION:
"Do NOT- I repeat- do NOT buy ANYTHING from the Acme catalog! Their devices ALWAYS explode prematurely!"
I live in nc. I just had a whole pack howling in my back yard. Spooky shit. Lol
I love the sound wake up to it in the middle of the night
Hence the name song dog!!
If you heard how close these things were to my house and you had a cat that wanted to go outside you would be scared
So I was right! That is a coyote I've been hearing at night! It didn't sound like a normal dog and I did see one a few days ago. Thank you UA-cam!
Beautiful. His bark and short howl. If im not mistaken he is challenging you. what an awesome experience.
It's actually a warning to other coyotes nearby, that there is possible danger. It has clearly made out the cameraman or the blind (if he's in one).
A challenge sounds different.
Let's go yotes!
Adorable doggy.
Lindo e perfeito Anjo !!! ❤❤
