Man - That Shadowmane is awesome! Jump down, jump up, bobs your uncle. For me that's pretty game breaking, which is why I tend to not bring tames from other maps to others as it changes the feel of the game massively. Keep up the good work dude!

should be mentioned that the thyla can get into that room where the artifact is by simply climbing over the wall. i'm also pretty sure the shadomane can jump into it ^^ just in case someone wonders or if a fiend is stuck in there and you don't wanna go in there on foot xD
Shadowmane only needs to be cryopoded at the entrance. It fits through the water tunnel then can jump out. It can also super jump to the bottom of the cave and jump over the ruins walls into the artifact. I play single player so I tend to for science every now and then. Also could a noglin be brought into the tek cave and used to hijack the gigas to clear the way so you can get some use out of them instead of just killing them right off. The noglin s level should always be higher than the gigas. It’s just a idea to for science seeing you have others you can test it alongside.

You should test if megalosaurus can pickup shadowmanes. I haven’t had the chance on the island they never spawn in my caves. I believe they can’t seeing the shadowmane is much larger but I could be wrong.
My favorite "Dino" for that cave is Megatherium... It fits through the entrance, everything ignores it (Except Megalania), and you have a perma-Berserk thanks to the bugs... It's a little tricky to go down and up but in the cave but is totally possible
Thylas can potentially get better armor saddles, Gen 2 R-Thylas get a damage boost from base, and they don’t need packs to get the most from their attack bonus. For me, thylas are still the go to general use and caving mounts.

hey phlinger not sure if you know this or not but that tek helmet can be used as a skin on your normal hat and since you always hide your hat you wont even notice its there but will have the benefit of having it there when you need it
Shadow is the win. Shadow- quick up and down (no fall damage) the cave, hydration buff, and kills eaiser/faster. Thyla- run through the entire cave, no fall damage. It all comes down to personal preference though. I prefer my shadows all the way, especially in the underwater artifact caves. high stam=invisible the entire time lol but i love your videos regardless

They serve different purposes Shadowmane isn’t meant for caves the only exception is cave of the strong there is nothing better in that one. The only time I’d take thyla over Shadowmane is island caves that Shadowmane can’t fit in and for taming things because Shadowmane poison makes it difficult
You actually gave the Thyla 1 point for not needing to be cryo'd on the way in, and then gave it another point for the same reason on the way out. I love my Thyla's also, but you let your bias show through. It's a draw. Both amazing tames.

The berries are from all the Bob's they've eaten, that's why they give you pointless gear like a bit of cloth armour, slingshot, spear etc, just crap from low level beach Bob's

just lure in a dino towards the entrance and use the zap attack with the shadowmane... while riding it...so you can get out of there while mounted and not risk anything. :) and shadowmanes don't take that much fall damage especially if you hop before going down.
plus you gave no points to not needing to craft a saddle to the shadowmane, to natural boosts (the yuty roar thing and the cloaking which makes dinos insta-ignore you) etc... youre biased towards thylas !
I don't get the fuss about this cave. It's pretty easy with a saber once you learn all of it's nooks and crannies. My suggestion is to take a saber like I did and get stuck for about an hour trying to get out. By the time you do you'll know this cave like the back of your hand and exactly where you'll need to jump to get out. Easy lol.
If you take a thylo threw the red woods the other thylos will come after you if u get near them but won't knock you off your mount learned that the other day

Actually, you're not using the Shadowmane correctly. You can easily jump down and jump right back up, as Shadowmanes take 0 damage from falling after jumping. They also don't care about Megalos. The Shadowmane can actually get into the artifact ruin, as it can jump inside and back out. The Thyla is more comfortable, as it doesn't need cryo, however the Shadowmane is a lot faster. You should also have no problems with the cryo, as it's easy to uncryo the Shadowmane in front of you without getting attacked. You should also have a gun with you anyway. Overall, I'd say the Shadowmane is a lot better, unless you *really* don't want to use cryopods. You're a great youtuber and I love your guides, but you seem to be very biased towards Thylas. Though, that is the only bad thing I'd say about your guides, as well as this video.

Shadowmane doesn't take fall damage if you super jump. So you can indeed drop down like you do with the thyla

You were looking at the wrong value for cold insulation. Hyper is heat, hypo is cold. The otter would have been the better pick, albeit not by much.

theres a reason they ended up boss disabled.

Mane can jump down kill everything and then jump back up
Even if the shadow mane doesn't super jump, can't you jump off right before you hit the ground causing limited to no fall damage to you or your mount?
Shadow manes take very little fall damage or none as long as you do the teleport jump

But on the shadowmane in the cave, you are not utilizing his flash attack. You have the single and the group. Both have its uses to get down the cave.
