Oh this is so gold. For almost 3 years now I've been consuming this series and this foray into statlines, keywords, even multiple land categories is such an interesting way to get a look at all the successful cards in the game. Just wanted to say thank you so much for pushing on Nizz. Pikers next?
I would still like to see "top 10 sideboard staples." Even it was an opinion-based top 10 instead of a stats-based one (sideboard staples that you like or think are/were important instead of based on actual number of top 8s).
Great video again ! And yes , I agree : could be interesting to have a top about cards that gain the more points in a limited period of time like the geist . Obviously , some will be because the rotated out of standard 🤔
@nizzahon magic You missed one, it isn't as obvious to find but should qualify. Spike Weaver Not 100% sure about score but looks like it is about 15, played in extended & standard in Recurring nightmare and Oath of Druid decks. This is also a green commander staple.
I have an idea for a top ten: top ten cards with 4 or more colored mana in their casting cost. Or you could do 3 or more if there aren’t enough at 4 or more.
Well, the only cards with exactly 4 colors are the 5 Nephilims, who didn't have much success iirc and the 5 Commander 2016 main Commanders, so might as well just say "Most competitive 5-colored cards"
My guess is number 1 would be Progenitus, as it appears on the side board of nearly every single legacy combo elves. That deck has seen a lot of top 8s.
Another one maybe worth looking at: Top Ten Blades. (2-mana 3/1, named after Blade of the Sixth Pride, name popularized by LoadingReadyRun) There are only 47 in all, but there have been several that have seen at least some high-level constructed play, like Blacklance Paragon, Glowspore Shaman, and Rimrock Knight. Number one would probably be Spirit of the Labyrinth, which still sees play in Death and Taxes to this day.
You should try the wicked wolf on an abzan food deck. When it enters the battlefield, something is going to die. After that: it's just a very big brick wall, with very big fangs.
It would be pretty subjective to determine what qualifies but it might be interesting to eventually see a "top 10 niche classifications" list of sorts, that ranks the #1 bears, hill giants, squires, grey ogres and such against each other. I'm assuming the cheaper more efficient groups would be at the top but it could still be neat to see how they all stack up against each other. I can't remember if you've done enough lists like this yet to even fill out something like that though so maybe this is just something to keep in mind for the distant future.
Could you do Lowland Giants at some point please? These are 4 mana 4/3's and I'm interested in knowing how many there are and how they stack up vs Hill Giants historically points wise.
I really thought the OG Hill Giant would make this list, since I run it in all of my Vintage Dredge decks. Honestly, the hardest segues are the ones where none of the cards really have any points in Vintage. But Mystic Enforcer had points in baby Vintage? So maybe it counts? Either way, do "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)". I wanna see Hill Giant at number 1!
@@c.jhamblin5759 I actually already upload "content" on my channel. But it's mostly just unedited clips of me playing games. I try and upload more edited stuff, but tbh I'm just too lazy. If I knew where Nizzahon got his data from I'd definitely make "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" of my own.

I think it would be really cool for him to do a "Top 10 Artists" video. It would be quite different from any other top 10s as each slot in the ranking would have a myriad of cards drawn by a specific artist. This one could be a bit more of a challenge to do as well though, so I would understand if this idea never ends up as a video. Thumbs up if you think this would be cool! As always, love the videos, keep it up!
Even then Olivia is superbly outclassed by Edgar and/or any commander that offers card draw. She herself has no real synergy towards the rest of the vampires in your deck.
hiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllllll GIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet bonecrusher giant will make it already. shows how good adventure was. and none of them got banned :D oh nevermind, bonecrusher does not qualify.
If you do end up doing a top 10 on cards like Dungeon Geists, I feel like one year wonders is a fitting name
Top 10 Standard One-Hit-Wonders for each set sounds like an interesting series.
Er, by set I meant like block and maybe like core sets?
Seigel rhino and thragtusk top 2 for sure
Or you could do just one-hit wonders for standard as a whole. Cards with the highest points in standard that have no points in any other format.
Seconded! Also top 10 cards not played in standard/block at all but played in eternal formats

1 Alpha
2 Ninth edition
3 eigth edition
4 Beta
5 Fourth edition
6 tenth edition
7 Unlimited
8 Fourth edition
9 seventh edition
10 fifth edition
HM: Revised
I love the art on Dungeon Geists so much that I got it on a playmat. It works really well
I would still like to see "top 10 sideboard staples." Even it was an opinion-based top 10 instead of a stats-based one (sideboard staples that you like or think are/were important instead of based on actual number of top 8s).
I think he has before talked about doing top 10 cards with at least half their points in sideboards.
Man, Lighting Bolt and Fatal Push makes hill giants so much worse in Modern.
Path to exile as well and liliana and basically anything lol
Dungeon Geists was 2012? Man, I'm old...
That card drove me insane. Delver, Snapcaster, Geists. Puke.
It's all in context when you started playing there is always a blue control creature that makes you hate control. Mine was tradewind rider.
Great video again !

Yeah, I meant cards like what Thomas said!
My guess is number 1 would be Progenitus, as it appears on the side board of nearly every single legacy combo elves. That deck has seen a lot of top 8s.
Every time i see Innistrad Block cards i get so extremely nostalgic. The feeling of this block is so damn right! Might be the best Block ever made!?
It is definitely up there.

This made me laugh, thanks XD
Love the concept of this top 10. Keep it up !
4:57 a reference to the wild Hunt of Norse mythology
Wow I remember playing Olivia voldaren in a junky vampire deck, it didn't win much but many tilted as soon as I played her 🤣
Did not expect the Wicked Wolf to be here, but makes sense, he was a threatening creature in a set full of p dece creatures.
You should try the wicked wolf on an abzan food deck. When it enters the battlefield, something is going to die. After that: it's just a very big brick wall, with very big fangs.
Mike Tyson thought Clickslither was a green sliver.
Imagine just somebody playing the Real hill giant in the World finals lol
A top 10 for ball lightning creatures, being cheap X/1s with haste and trample that only last 1 turn
A bit too specific maybe?
Wicked Wolf? Havent seen one for half a year now in standard unless I myself played it.
It makes for a pretty decent mutate target.

definitely Pikers #1. Snapcaster alone would make sure of it.

Please start doing top 10 cards per set, that would be so cool
I have done it a few times, they don't seem to do very well compared to other lists sadly -- but I still plan on doing more in the future.
I was wondering, what sources do you use for your research?

Definitely won't do an in depth review, but I may do an archetype refresher or something

The only one I can think of is Wicked Wolf and that is only because of its recent play.
Edit:
HOW DID I FORGET OLIVIA?
JHOIRA, WEATHERLIGHT CAPTAIN
Haven't seen any Wicked Wolves since Oko's banning, thank goodness.
This Video is Extra Potent
I play Olivia's voldaren in my edgar markov Deck. 1 time I played her in a 4 way vampire commander game and everyone gave me a look like WTF.
I think you should look at 4 Mana 3/4 or 3 Mana 3/3.
It’s fine. When the Wicked Wolf surpasses Olivia she will just take control of it.
My favorite hill giant is Ranger of Eos. I know it has one less toughness, let me cheat
*Laughs in Bloodbraid Elf*
The honorable mention should have been a brass key
Wicked Wolf might be number 1 now
Dungeon giests saw play at one point? Man times have changed, card is jank now
To be fair we dont fight with creatures anymore, so he is unlikely to even have a target in current standard and thus is unplayable.

Top 10 dreadmaws? A 6 mana 6\6 that makes the run shake ground run too teeth late
Top ten sideboards vs ugin pls. I need to kill that guy on standard and modern a lot more now.
Rule 104.3a may help
Why in modern? I get that he's now in standard but he was in modern since Fate Reforged. So he was always there.
