Thank you for this great video. After buying some goats. I noticed they would drastically lose weight and get ill. All the good feed , minerals and medication I spent. I would still lose some. I finally put an Rv water filter to their water source and within days saw a difference. I wish I saw your video sooner. But at least I'm in the right track now.

Do you have any information on feeding various tree branches with leaves? Our goats absolutely love them and I recently heard the tannins help keep down their parasite load…although I’m curious if it also is just due to the matter coming from above the ground…? Granted we have Nigerian Dwarf goats already resistant so it is said.

Thank you Delci! I also have well water with high iron and sulfur content. You mentioned it will bind with the copper. So what do you do for that? Do you give copper supplement? If so, how do you know how much to give? Thanks!! I love your videos. Very informative.
Goat nutrition (and any animal or human nutrition) is very, very complex. The very best way for a goat to get their copper is in the food they are eating. If you are giving grain, a grain made specifically for goats is good because it takes into account the nutrition needs of a goat.
Hay will be their main source of nutrition, so getting your hay tested can help you understand what nutrients are available to your goats in the hay source.
Definitely keep out the loose goat mineral at all times. They will supplement as needed.
If you are still seeing signs of copper deficiency, you can give a copper bolus.
And if it ever works out to collect rain water, do that! Someday we will have a good set up for that and I really believe it will make a big difference for our animals!
How do you control fleas. I have a cement floor with saw dust. If I removed the cement and have them on bare ground is it better?
In the last 2 weeks some of my goats have lost weight, yet they are even grazed more than before when I used to just toe them in the field. What could be the.problem.
How do I know if my water is good for my goats for my future farm…do I need to call my water company and find out what’s in my water? All I know is that once or twice a month you smell like a strong chlorine smell when you run bath water. Our water is very hard here in Mississippi? This may sound crazy but are there possibly a water testing kit that will tell me whats in my water and the high or low amounts in it so I know how to balance their intake needs? Any suggestions?

I m having 10 goats I wanted to ask u question that what should I include in there diet to make them shining? Is shining in there hairs is indicating healthy goat and no shine in there hair indicates disease goat? I saw ur goats in the above video they are shining , stomach full , healthy etc

It doesn’t necessarily mean they have a disease. But it could mean they are lacking an essential vitamin or mineral.
Are they getting enough copper? Copper is very important to a goat in their ability to have healthy hair coat and optimal health.
They need free choice minerals out all the time.
And they should get enough hay or feed to maintain a good body weight.
But like I said, copper is essential to hair coat shine and health. 😊
@@DelcifromALifeofHeritage they r getting enough copper I think so. Feed is proper but still some goats doesn't have shine...but ok I ll ad copper rich food in there feed(can u suggest me)& will give bolus dose of copper... thanks for your help...

Have you checked them for worms? That can cause health issues and lack of luster.

What kind of goat breeds do you have now? And what breeds are available? Kiko goats are a well-known breed of meat goat.
You definitely have a monopoly on the raising, feeding and caring for goats on UA-cam. Unfortunately I have no patience for all the wordy stuff, although I understand you have present the information with the thought in mind that your audiences level of comprehension and understanding of a5 year old. The information is vital, it just come soooooooooooooooooo slow.
