My mother used to make "commercial" art for a company. An artist would come up with a design, then other artists on the team would make a few dozen to a few hundred replicas, and they would be bought by companies, higher-end hotels, etc to try to bring some class to their establishments. This reminds me of that process--the artistry is as much in the process of duplication and manufacture as it was in the very first mug thrown. The skill needed to handmake things, but also to make them to a standard and to make them accessible, is so wonderful to me. Thank you for sharing!

They are a perfect thinness and look elegant. It seems that people are making mugs, chunky with little finesse

Just the local timber yard! They're untreated and do warp a little bit with use, I just make sure I use both sides of them from time to time.
