Hey first of all a very informative tutorial and I really like it. I've a question, what if we have a condition of quantity based flat rate shipping? For example: Jewelry based store we want 1-10pcs for $10 (assumption) and 11-20 pcs for $20? Is there a default option in shopify to setup like this? or any app if you suggest would be much appreciable. Thanks
Set those ranges to weigh a certain amount on the backend first. Then, create shipping rules based on weight.
Some great stuff, thanks! But I don't quite get how the rates are tied to the respective carriers??? You put in USPS in the text, and at about 10:00 you put FedX in the Rate Name - but how does that price and condition actually point to the carrier that is used? I am using Printify and how would they know which orders are shipped via USPS and which are FedX ? Or is this just for shops doing their own shipping? Thanks!
If Printify is shipping the orders for you, it doesnt matter who they ship with, USPS or Fedex, becuase they are the ones doing the Shipping. Your job is to charge them whatever Printify is charging you to ship. You dont have to program saying USPS or Fedex. Just say Standard Shipping. Next, depending on what youre selling, shipping fees vary. How does Printify disinguish this? Based on Price? Weight? Whatever that is, you need to apply those scenerios on your shipping settings. I can go deeper if you still dont understand, but for that I provide mentorship in my Academy Elite Member group here: academyecommerce.com/products/academy-elite-group-membership?selling_plan=2574680225
Good video. Your videos have been quite beneficial for a long time. But I have to wonder: Isn't the major goal of setting flat pricing for your business to do away with the need to figure out costs and package weight? I just started my business at the age of 15. Thus, I might require one specific, succinct concept or definition regarding employing flat rates in general. I understand the fundamentals to a degree. I just need a simple concept on the matter. If u can, that'd be great!!
There is no right or wrong way when it comes to this. It truly depends on your cost of operations, profit margins and customer expectations in the market. Perform some AB testing and stick with the ones that work for you.
@@Edwintopdigital I understand, thank you. Appreciate the response
Thanks !!
Youre welcome!
Hi, can you please make a video about how to set up shipping rates and taxes not just for the US but for the US, UK and rest of the world. It would be appreciated
This instruction applies for any country. Just select your country in the settings.
how to charge shipping rate per unit ordered (heavy items), our company charges shipping cost per unit. (ex. $1000 item shipping is $100, so 5 orders will be $500)
Set the Shipping up so that it charges by the pound. So if each heavy item weighs hypothetically 100 lbs, you set the shipping to say 0 to 100 lbs = $100, then set the next shipping condition to say 101 lbs to 200 lbs = $200, onwards.
thank you for the tutorial, brother raise your video voice while editing, your recent tutorials have low voice issue.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great vid. Most shopify videos, the person talks and moves so fast that it's almost impossible to follow.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks!!!
No problem! Youre welcome!
