The a1 mini that he used is my go too home printer it’s definitely a small (and your wife will like that it’s an) affordable option at under $200 right now.
Whenever I want to get thick walls but not increase my print time, i make the line width 0.8 wide. This makes 3 walls equivalent to 6 0.4 walls. It will increase flow rate through the hot end a lot more but cuts the print time by a lot.
Epic! Improvement ideas 💡: carry a 0.8mm nozzle and use the thickest layer to get stuff printed faster. Quick fix would have been 0.28mm layer on the 0.4 nozzle. Either way it was still brilliant!
That is still a very good print considering the power loss and the bumpy roads. Gotta love the practical prints especially when in a slight pinch. Love it!
7:12 right outside of Helper, UT, I do love it down there. Awesome demonstration, my first thought was that a block of wood would be better but this showcases so much more than the print.
Also great to hear that anything above 30% infill is not worth it. I was skeptical on the 25% infill, but that block didn't budge an inch with all that weight.
I love how at 6:40 and 6:50 when showing the side mirrors that you have no trailer connected to your truck but some how at 7:44 you magically have a trailer now hmmmmm
Haha! We laughed that nobody had caught it yet! We took two trips to Houston, and one was with my children without the trailer and one with the trailer a month later. I didn’t get as much filming done the second time with the trailer, a lot more driving at night.
I'd trade you any day of the week. I'm living in a Prius with my Creality Ender in the back and it's running 24/7 through a 1,000 watt AC Inverter that is being run through 4 100A LifePO4 batteries that charge through the 12V Outlet in the vehicle so I don't always have to have the engine running... 🤓
50mm/s max on draft is brutal. I am looking at upgrading to something 300+mm/sec. LOVE the tech, have several uses, but, it's just too darn slow. I'm not even looking for quality, just get'r'done'dangit.
I had one of mine fall off a shelf today. It literally printed like that for about half an hour before I got to it to fix it. I didn't lose the print or have any layer shift. ua-cam.com/users/shortsMkyPGy_Eh9k?si=dhImPtydE5bHTxwR
Well, now I need a truck printer. My wife thanks you.
😅

It's so convenient I think, and the quality and experience are the best out there. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely, there are a ton of ways to reduce the time per layer or number of layers.
I'm impressed it didn't even creak/crack when you were putting the trailer weight on it. Definitely shows you how great of a tool 3D Printers can be!
Absolutely! Just awesome tools.
Great job! BTW, if you spread the prongs on the electric plug you won't have to use tape to keep it plugged in
Great idea!
Those mountains are looking gorgeous!
Love the views of the west and south west!

Thanks! Great suggestion,
This is impressive, I inquired about printing while driving when you guys where on the road , now I see the proof. Keep up the great content.
I remember you asking! Thanks! 🔥

I thought so too!
Practical prints are awesome! I love solving problems with my 3D printers.
Heck yeah!

Thank you! I think it worked out very well, I am going to just leave that block in the truck,
I’m impressed PLA didn’t break. This is awesome LM! Great job
Me too! Fun way to share 3D printing. Thank you!
This is absolutely fantastic. This just brightened my day. Thank you.
You are so welcome! 🌞
I would like to try that in an E.V., it would cripple you with range anxiety. You have redefined 'Printing on the go' 👍👍

Great.. thanks.. now I have to buy another another mini so I can have a truck printer. 🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣
Haha! Everyone needs a truck printer.
Also great to hear that anything above 30% infill is not worth it. I was skeptical on the 25% infill, but that block didn't budge an inch with all that weight.
It was so solid! I was nervous until it finished and I held it in my hands, that’s when I felt pretty confident it was gonna hold it.
Great use of 3d printing. Very cool of how can solve a problem while traveling.
Absolutely! Can’t wait to make even more cool stuff while traveling!

@@LoyalMoses Yea I didn't notice at first but then I was wait a minute where the trailer go LOL
Really cool video. That was a great practical application and print!
Thanks!
Considering you had a trailer full of filament, I'd say THAT'S using the available resources to solve a problem! Well done, Loyal!
Thanks Pete! I could print hundreds of them! 😅
That is a pretty cool block! I loved seeing the travel vlog style video. This was very fun!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make, and this was our first real try at this type. Hoping we get to make a lot more!
I love useful prints!
Awesome!
This is my girlfriend's nightmare
Haha
No handle for the A1 Mini?
I haven’t made one yet for it! Definitely should.
The truck is my UPS - I am unable to turn it off - the most American thing to say
What an idea! Beautiful country btw
Thank you! 💜🔥
Nice project. Just dont use grid infill. Id tends to damage the nozzle. and doing the same block with adaptive cubic would save a lot of time, IMO
I suppose we could test, but my first thoughts are that adaptive cubic would have difficulty handling 1,500 pounds.

Now I have to take a Long Trip with my Minis!!
Yes!!! 😁
This video was posted Dec 13, 2024. It's currently Dec 16, 2024. My Ender 3v2 would still be printing.
😳

You will LOVE these new machines! It changes your entire mindset on what to and how to 3D print stuff!
6:40 Mt. Garfield, 6:43 Bookcliffs , 6:55 Glenwood Canyon (I think)
Oh wow! I don't think I can remember where we were!
Looks like your trailer jack has an adjustable telescoping foot, judging by the pin.
Yup, almost all trailer jacks do.
That's impressive LM
Heck yeah!
Pretty awesome! I need one
Okay, I’ll print you one. 😆 I know you don’t mean the printer. 😉
@ ok, it’s been almost 2 days and I still don’t have my print…
We both know it wasn’t the ford I was talking about.
Oh, keep waiting!
That's awesome Loyal, just don't try it on a motorcycle in a backpack.
Haha
Don't you just hate it when the roll falls off the reel holder?
Oh man! 😳
Very cool!
Thanks! 💜
I was hoping he used the printer as the stand.
I mean, I could always give it a try! 😅
Nice.
It’s fun to have a truck printer!
Could've just used the printer itself (Z rail) l to physically prop up the trailer hitch. 🤣🤣
Haha!
well im impressed lol
😁
STL?
Haha! 😅
just stack two spools under the jack.
That could definitely work once or twice! 😅
You could have tried to shove the cord into the back seat pocket instead of taping it.
Could have tried that, but it would have just bounced out!

Yikes! Tough little machines!
hell yeah lmao, but 2x4s are a thing lmao
I forgot the block of wood I usually use. It’s 16” chunk of 8x10.
@LoyalMoses I bet! Just joking ya know. Honestly surprised at how good it looked even after being printed while driving lol
I think that little machine did great!
@@LoyalMoses just amazing what has Bambu done. I love my a1
One of my favorite machines!
That's awesome Loyal, just don't try it on a motorcycle in a backpack.
I don’t want to wreck my printer or myself!
