    Way to give the credit due to Ernest Jones, the one legged golf instructor who started it all. You do a wonderful job of explaining and demonstrating his concepts. I believe his book, Swinging Into Golf, is the Bible of the golf swing. Keep up the good work in the Ernest Jones lineage! Interesting note: Ernest Jones was hired as the first Head Pro at the prestigious Women’s National Golf and Tennis Club in Glen Head, Long Island.

      Thank you so much for your comment.… It is my mission in my career to keep this concept alive.
      Ernest Jones, Angel de la Torre, Manuel de la Torre, deserve all of the credit.… I just hope I continue to do them justice.
      Yes, I knew that piece of trivia. It is really really cool.

    Thanks Trish - love your videos. The hardest concept for myself is training the arms to start the downswing first. Ive always thought it was the body initiating the downswing.

      Hello, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… first of all, really try getting yourself to believe it to forward swing instead of a downswing.… That may help. Second of all.… If you think about the arms being from the elbow to the shoulder.… And let them swing naturally forward.… That should help as well.
      feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

    I had my first lesson with this nice woman today. In my first session, I was hitting my mid irons very crispy. It was really eye-opening. What a great job and what a great teacher.

    thanks and believe it or not, I see a difference in your swing, as well...no little hitch at the top. It did the same thing to my swing and hit 12 out of 14 fairways last Thursday after just a few practice sessions.

    I feel that this is a powerful and insightful piece of instruction. I think it could be said that what you have described is synonymous with trying to skim a pebble on a lake?? Which as I understand it, describes the golf swing?? So when you think about it this way, it is the arm that leads the "throwing" with the body then whipping into action??

      @@815TeeTimeInc Thank you Trish - your confirmation is welcomed!! I find I really need to UNDERSTAND something to be able to apply it. By the way, I have just received via Amazon "Understanding the Golf Swing" by Manuel de La Torre and can't wait to get into it!!! I am fascinated by the whole Ernest Jones/de la Torre teaching method concept which seems to have the total ring of truth about it! 😁😁

    Good video, thanks! I like this although I’ve swung slightly different with minimal consistency for a few years. I was taught more arms on the backswing, throw with the wrists on the downswing. How do you get the club released the way you’re showing without just dragging the club through? Thank you!

      Hello, thank you so much for your comment and your question.… If you swing the club with this concept correctly.… The club will naturally release due to the centripetal force created in the forward motion with your arms. Think of it like this.…
      If I swing the club back with my hands, the opposite of my hands is my arms. Opposite and equal reaction.
      So I swing back with my hands and forward with my arms and if I do so it will go from one end to the other hands go to arms, arms go to hands. Does that make sense?

    Hi Trish. I have asked you a few times before but never got a clear answer. Wen swinging the weight on the string for practice and chipping pitching and putting do you still swing back with the hands forward with the arms. I am a Ernest Jones player who just uses hands like he original Ernest teaching and I am trying to understand why this is better. Don't the hands create the most speed in the swing?

      @815TeeTimeInc  8 місяців тому

      Hello there, I’m sorry if I didn’t reply earlier.… Sometimes messages get lost.
      Depending on how big the swing is. If it’s a putting swing with the weight on a string, I use my arms. But the bigger the swing gets yes, hands take it back arms bring it forward.

      @@815TeeTimeInc Thanks Trish. Have another question. Why did Manuel change the forward swing from using hands front fingers to arms?

    • @815TeeTimeInc
      @815TeeTimeInc  8 місяців тому

      @fredgreenberg7614 if I remember the story correctly.… He and his father decided that the whole club not just the club head must swing forward and the only way to do that was with thearms.
