Thanks for this I am just so tired of the crappy Bluetooth connectivity and the interface safety lockouts on arbitrary settings buttons to the point I am looking to just rip this out and get an aftermarket
Great video
when you install this stereo model do the steering wheel controls work? and the multifunction screen (screen that shows turbo pressure on the board) that shows the information of the songs is still working?
thanks
I did this but no sound came out after installing. I have the Harmon Kardon package. Please help
You will need a bypass box, my old car had the bose premium speakers and needed this because these specialty speakers have their own amps and things like that
I’m looking to change my oem on 2016 wrx base to a pioneer avh-4500nex. Could really use your help. I just bought the 4500 from a friend but it’s missing all the harnesses. Could use a walk through on the installation if you can.
What did you do with the bluish color wire that also had the aux jack that comes with the maestro. That’s the only thing I am confused about and the installation manual did not say anything about it. Thanks
I changed my head unit as well, however the locking mechanism on the key fob is not working. Any advice. I have a 2020 sti. The nee head unit is not the one on this video
I feel like the microphone part lost me. Would the factory mic still work if you didn’t wire the aftermarket mic up the side and down through the roof?
Factory mic is on its own protected circuit and will not be retained when replacing the radio. You will need to add your own analog mic that comes with the radio.
Where can I get the micro bypass? I didn't see it in the parts list?
Just wondering how the mic quality was in that factory location? Trying to decide between there and the top of the A-pillar. If it sounded great I'll put in the extra work and run it to the middle.
It's not perfect, but it kept the clean factory look. You will get better results from top of the A pillar, but thats your call.
followed this video for my 2015 wrx and the skip song button tries to change input but every other button works like its normally supposed to.. any suggestions?
Can you do one for a 2017 STi? Not sure if it’s the same as this or not, would I be able to keep the rear view camera?
How many amps do you have installed? why so many RCA cables?
where can you find that Metra AX-TOYUSB USB Port Cable for a 2015 subaru WRX, I can't find it anywhere?
Just bought a 17 wrx manual transmission with the same unit. Seems like it was professionally installed , buttons on steering wheel work correctly. But I am having some weird issues. Reverse camera tries to come on if i go from reverse to neutral instead of the opposite. And when it does come on its just a black screen. If i go into the menu and click camera then shift to reverse the signal is there and working correctly.
Another thing is i cannot get the grayed out settings to be available, I put the e-break on and hold the break but still grayed out. I have tried pulling e brake disengage and re engage and still nothing.
I have pulled the unit out and checked the back and everything looks connected correctly, do you have any suggestions what to look for, for these issues ? I really would like to be able to use android auto, I plugged a direct usb cable into the back to connect to my phone but i think it wants the e-brake on to start setup. Thanks !
Will all these parts work with a jvc KW-V320BT I have a 2015 sti no navi with Harmon kardon
apart from the metra 70-1761 do i need the 28 pin harness? non harman kardon also does the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Interface Module work with non harman kardon?
Why does the steering wheel module tap into the factory harness wires and not the after-market harness wires? Also, why hasn't someone developed an adaptor to re-use the factory mic?
Sadly, no one has ever made an adapter to use the factory microphone in a Subaru due to the fact that the Subaru microphone is proprietary, now amplified, and has a different impedance than standard microphones used with aftermarket head units. This is my 2nd Subaru that I am getting ready to replace the factory radio in.
Any idea if all of this will work with the Sony xav3000?
Works great with any double din radio
What did you do when the screen that displays the time and weather said to “check radio input”??
Pull the negative off the battery and let the car sit for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the computer to "forget" the radio ever existed.
What dash kit is this? Mine was too small
Metra 70-7553 Did NOT work for my 2015 STi with HK system & factory nav. Could not plug into any of the factory connections.
is this legit, because i was thinking about going by the list provided
Bro that’s a Nissan harness. Call up crutchfield customer service and get a harness. Also make sure to pay them the $25 for the plug and play harness wiring they do for you...no splicing
will the reverse camera still work?
It will work on the screen above the new head unit unless you buy another one and have it hooked up to your new head unit
Couldn’t use that in a 2022 wrx so why advertise it!
See the description for exactly what model years Impreza, WRX, and STI it fits.
I have 2014-2015 WRX with factory Harmon Kardon system and installed the new Kenwood 9920DAB series with a issue of no sound at all.
I heard this is common issue with the factory amp. Anyone know where I can buy a harness go make this work please?
We would recommend the iDatalink HRN-RR-SUI paired with the MRR to make this all work. *iDatalink Maestro HRN-RR-SU1 Wiring Harness Adapter: amzn.to/3vGCZVx
*iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Radio Replacement Interface: amzn.to/35EJxto
We used those parts here: ua-cam.com/video/J39vBsPJKEk/v-deo.html
Where did you get the carbon fiber dash kit?
It’s factory 👌
Does the stock dimmer scroll control the brightness?
Scroll dimmer, no, only dims when headlights are activated.
How do you keep using the oem usb
Depends on the year.
What kit you use for the radio
