It's getting to the point where I think, yeah, yeah, this pedal sounds pretty cool with a guitar, but I won't know how good it actually is until Emily tries in on harp. Another stellar demo!
I love that even though I play guitar, these videos are extremely useful when checking out new gear. Always comprehensive and to the point. Def one of my favorite reviewers.
thank you so much!! that means so much to me!! 🥺❤️ Russ and I put so much work into the channel, so seeing comments like yours really makes our day!! thanks for being here with us ♡
7:18 I really, REALLY hope you flesh this piece out into a longer version. It stirs something within me and just about moved me to tears. Such beautiful improvising.
What's really special about this one is the ducking/responsiveness on offer for the echo and verb and the further shaping that can be done with the footswitch. For those of us that don't have a helpful disembodied hand to twiddle the knobs, that is. I've been looking for something that would allow me a little more active role in signal destruction without having to stop playing and become a pedal troll, and that's not even where the extras end with this. Now I understand why it became a last minute favorite!
Another classic from Emily and Russ. You guys are way too good to us! Seriously! Wish I could make you two half as happy as yall make me. Anyways... Happy holidays, friends.
Oh goodness... this is amazing. It's like a middle ground between Avalanche Run and Gen Loss, which is precisely the sound of little ghosts poking up out of the ocean and sliding along the curved bow of a ship to become just another part of the sea mist; their whispers sweeten the crashing of the wake. Some keep rising until the moonlight washes out their faintest outlines, while the others fall back into the current with the slightest splash. The foam trailing over it all is like a flurry of lost feathers buzzing with static charge. Thank you for a lovely voyage
It really IS the child of Avalanche Run and Gen Loss!!!! That’s like the best description ever hahaha all it’s missing is reverse delay!!! I guess it’s a recessive trait 😂 I really hope December is treating you well also!!!! ❤️
Ok this pedal sounds especially good with harp it's so cool how reverbs from different brands react to harp in unique ways even when all of them produce same effect 😋
You are the only pedal demo artist that makes me think, “I want this, but I don’t need this. YOU need this, and I’m so glad that you have it because I never would have come as close to realizing how beautiful this pedal can be…” 🤯🤯🤯. Thank you. I still want one, but I’d rather hear you play with it.
hahah thank you so much, Sean!!! I really, really appreciate that!! 🥰❤️ I had a feeling that this pedal would sound amazing with harp, but I had no idea it would work THIS well with it! haunted, sp00ky harp is a genre I can get behind 😂 Champion Leccy makes super awesome stuff, and I can't wait to try out more!
This is one of the nicest pedals I've heard in a while. Very musical. It's very keyed into that melancholy lo-fi sound. I can't really imagine doing anything else with it tbh. But that's not a bad thing at all. It is perfect for that sort of space. Imagine if Chopin had one of these when doing his Nocturnes. That very last bit before the video ended started edging into Boards of Canada territory. Pretty impressive for a single pedal. I think I need one...
This makes me so happy! Thank you, Emily, for another beautiful demo video. I agree with many of the other commenters about the section that starts around 7:18 (it being a great piece) and I will be very excited to see a full composition based on that part. Thank you again and have a great holiday.
Who knew pedals and harp would go so well together! Amazing playing and demo as always :) As always, makes me think of a cool side scrolling indie game!
"Catch any swans, did you?" Fantastic demo, as always. That's a pretty interesting pedal, for sure. That section around the 4 minute mark really hit a mood... I could easily chill out to that, and the next one, too... Thank you 🙏
All I could think of at the start is that you must be Olympic-gold-medal-tier at thumb-twiddling. Amazing stuff as always, especially like how it sounds near the end when the ballast goes up. Very This Will Destroy You-ish 😁
I'm running out of adjectives for how good your playing is - I enjoy every video. Your improvisational skills are inspired and inspiring. You're so impressively skilled and talented.
"Emily sound" fantastic. As usual, sitting the garage this morning listening to this, it's warm 35°. You blew me away, harmonics on the Harp. So many pedals, so many knobs, so many switches, so many buttons, so little time. Blessings 🙏, Peace ✌, Prosperity 🖖, 🤙. Yes I am older, Merry Christmas! 🎄
I could also see this pedal working really well as a background effect for vocals or a solo instrument like a sax, trumpet, etc. in a mix! Beautiful work as always!!
Ok you got me with this one. It has a lot going on in that box and I was surprised and impressed by the range of sounds outta this ( it's slowy and glitchy that hits meh feels😁). Ah more to wish for 😔. Very nice job.
hahah right?!? this was on my wishlist for a WHILE!! I'm a huge fan of lofi sounds, especially when they sound as "haunted" and sp00ky as this one does! 😂❤️
I’m new to your channel and just wanted to say it’s amazing. I love using weird and unique effects so it’s really cool to someone else doing it too! Especially as talented as you are 🙏
thank you so much!! and WELCOME to our little harp & effects community!! I'm so glad you're here with us, and I really appreciate the kind words!!! 🥰❤️
Here in the UK we’re not allowed to hunts swans because they all belong to the queen or something. Swan Hunter was also the name of a UK shipbuilder. Great playing of course, even if the effects are the sort of thing I usually go to great pains to avoid. As I’ve said before, it just demonstrates the sheer breadth and depth of that thing we call ‘music’…
What a lovely glitchy warble box! I do wonder if the maker knew what was inside before your improvisational style of playing brought it out for all to hear. Again, I find it hard to decide if I am hearing the pedal or if it is your consciousness inside. I reckon you and Russ could make an album of improvisational music with one pedal for each song. So many pedals, so many songs ……
hahah I think it's my consciousness!!! all the improvisations are very much "me" and what I'm feeling in the moment if that makes sense, and it's always so wonderful to discover how the pedal can enhance the feeling I was going for!! (also, Russ just ALWAYS knows the best pedal settings to go along with the improvs -- it's very much a conversation between me and the pedal, but also between me and Russ!) 😂❤️
I love your videos, Emily. And as much as I enjoy your playing and what the pedals add to the lovely tunes I am in rehab and cannot buy anymore new pedals. My wife put her foot down and held an intervention because my pedal buying was getting to be excessive. But I will keep listening. :-) Much love and respect, lady!

It’s blue.. has ghosties..my weakness that it’s a reverb/delay.. annddd it’s not in stock whew I’m safe hahaha! It sounds amazing and the little flourishes of notes close together sounded lovely. Really great demo
I could definitely listen to this all day long. I was actually coming up with some drum rhythms & beats in my head to this while listening to it that would be played using my Tama travel kit. Also, as a harpist, have you ever listened to the music of Andreas Vollenweider? He plays a modified electric harp & started out in the early 1980s. If you haven’t heard of or listed to him, I recommend the albums, Behind The Gardens - Behind The Wall-Under The Tree, Caverna Magic’s, & White Winds. Although my music mainstays are alternative rock, grunge, 80s hard rock, Classic Rock, Jam Bands , & Country, I listen to other types of music as well like dance / club music, 90s Rap / Hip Hop, 80s New Wave, Freestyle Music, Jazz , & other types of music as well. What kind of music do you like?
Ohh wow, that's an impressive pedal, lots of versatility and cool sounds. As always though, I enjoy your playing more so. Is there a link where I can buy your music? Love to have some downloaded for when I want to feel relaxed and peaceful, and especially for drifting off to sleep.
Not gonna lie, I honestly thought my cat was calling me at the start of the video 🤣 I like this one. Gives it a Apex Twins feel!! Oo oo did you ever see Salad Fingers? This!
Lmaooo it does give it an Apex Twins feel!! A lot of people have been telling me to cover Avril 14! Maybe I should hahaha. I’ve seen salad fingers, yes!!! A classic 😊
The mood created by some of these songs is deep and resonates with places words don't reach. Do you compose your own music? Are these or some of these original pieces?
Thank you so much!! And yes, these are all original improvisations created on the spot! I wouldn’t even really call myself a “composer” because none of this is ever planned out beforehand; sometimes I don’t even know where I’ll end up once I start playing, I just go along with how I’m feeling 😂❤️ I really appreciate the kind words!!
@@emilyharpist 😊 ❤ hey, no problem! The best musicians let their soul seep through their instruments into the music they create. Your music alone introduces positivity into my life, so the least I can do is compliment you and your work 🤗 I'm always happy to return the favor.
@@emilyharpist ☺ I appreciate you too! I'm glad I can be here. It was purely chance that I even came across your channel in the first place... but I'm really glad I did though :)
I was digging this so much, then my uncle’s dog started barking after the 4:00 mark. Don’t know whether it was the warble or the wobble, but he sure doesn’t like it 😜. Do you always record these live or do you sometimes record clean and diddle with knobs later? I have no idea how you can make the oddest effects so musical. What an imagination!
HAHAH please apologize to your uncle's dog for me!!! 😅❤️ it really depends on the pedal; sometimes if I'm playing something more difficult, I record it dry and add the effects later because it can be harder to both nail the performance and the pedal knob turning at once (Russ is my professional knob turner hahah so it's very much like a dialogue between us!)
Is the owners name Daniel Johnston Simpson? I got a pedal for Emily, it’s called “feels” cause that wasn’t the frog knob. It’s the feels knob. But every knob, switch and button is the feels knob switch or button when Emily plays. Except the “ fart pedal “. 7:17 the day I cried... for real... damn Emily!❤️💯👍🏽
Hahah honestly I think I will!!! 🥰❤️ everyone seems to like improv 6 especially, so I’ll definitely work on that and make it into a longer piece! But I can totally see a full album like this sometime in the near future!!
I'm really poor and love these sorts of ambient lofi effects to bits, is there any solution for me? I guess using a multifx for lo fi delay, adding vibrato etc., wondering if there are any good cheap pedals or VSTs? VSTs with this vibe would be amazing since I'm more of an electronic music maker than anything. Closest pedal I have for this is the Memory Boy, esp. if you use an EXp to crank the delay time so it does the analogue bitcrusher thing!
That’s a really good question!!! I really don’t have a lot of experience with a lot of VST’s but there was a free kontakt one I used before that was really cool!! It was a tape plugin, I just looked it up trying to find what it was called but I couldn’t find it:( if I remember I’ll let you know!! There are a ton of free tape simulation plugins you could look up!! There are a bunch of articles out there. I’ll be on the lookout for you!!! I was reading a thread recently on EQ and mic techniques for lo fi recording, so maybe you could find some lo fi sounds with some stuff you have already!!! Sorry I can’t be more help right now :(
How do you decide which pedal demos go on bandcamp and which ones don't? I'd love to be able to purchase this and listen to these sounds away from the internet
I feel like more pedals should take creative liberty with their knob names. It makes it more fun. It's like each pedal is a Pokemon and a knob is one of their moves 😄 This pedal is probably ghost/dark.
It's getting to the point where I think, yeah, yeah, this pedal sounds pretty cool with a guitar, but I won't know how good it actually is until Emily tries in on harp. Another stellar demo!

Sorry I can’t be more help right now :(
👻🖤🤖 Spooky and dope. *NICE*
How do you decide which pedal demos go on bandcamp and which ones don't? I'd love to be able to purchase this and listen to these sounds away from the internet
Hey!!! I try to put up all of them, I usually try to drop a bunch of them on bandcamp Friday!!! I’ll try to put this one up sooner :)
@@emilyharpist I try to buy on bandcamp fridays, so no rush!
Pls do spaceman too
I feel like more pedals should take creative liberty with their knob names. It makes it more fun. It's like each pedal is a Pokemon and a knob is one of their moves 😄 This pedal is probably ghost/dark.
HAHAHA I 100% AGREE 😂❤️
Ok yeah so I’m gonna add this to my pedal board
