Yup this is a really good projector for the price. The only downside is that its a little noisy in normal mode but switch to eco and there's not much difference in brightness and its virtually silent.
I bought an Xgimi Elfin (DLP) and had it for a week. Great device, but agony to look at. It wasn't so much the rainbows, which I only noticed once, it just felt like my eyes were working 10x harder than normal when looking at the screen. I tried eye drops and acclimatising myself an hour at a time, but things weren't improving - in the end it just felt like too much work and sent it back. I watched your video and ended up getting the Epson EH-TW740 - enormous difference. I have no complaints at all - if anything I think the picture has a more natural feel to it. There didn't seem to be many videos covering the 740, which was one of only two non-DLP models available to me - so thanks for putting yours up, they definitely helped me make up my mind.

I had a similar projector when I lived in a much bigger house with a really big wall and I was worried that if I bought one for my now smaller house that I would not be able to shrink the picture to fit the wall and I couldn’t find any info online and I came to this video precisely for that reason and you showed me exactly what I wanted to know. Do you know roughly how small the picture reduces to please?

Trouble is after a while the polariser in lcd projectors degrade and the picture will get worse and suffer from discolouration. There seems to be no 100% perfect solution in projector market .
Like most things yes I agree also depends on usage mines used about 1 to 3 times a week and only for movies and a few games. I also have a 6 year warranty which covers any malfunction of the unit excluding accidental damage and the bulb itself. Should last me a while.

In my position which one would you choose?
When it comes to projectors I would always buy new with warranty, the Optoma you mention is a short throw projector so you would have it in front of you on a table perhaps and is DLP so you may also see the rainbow effect ? advantage of the optoma you mention is that it has 3d capability but Personally call it being byast i would go new with the epson. My next video i will be doing a 4k demonstration both in eco and normal mode.
@@moviesgamesandtechnology All the videos I saw with the EPSON EH-TW740 and all the reviews I read were disappointing. It has a strong light but it is impossible in black. For the Optoma GT1080 Darbee, those who presented it in the video were excited. I will prefer Optoma, finally. Besides, the owner of EPSON does not give me a guarantee. @@jennelynanilado6580 Ok to do connect wirelessly you need to purchase an epson wireless lan adapter which then plugs into the usb port at the back, personally i'm not bothered and just connect a spare laptop to the projector with all my netflix links etc etc no problem, hope that helps.

Your welcome I had the exact same problem my eyes were going red could not stop seeing the rainbow the tw740 is perfect for me.

Did you ceiling mount yours? I noise level is a bit much compare to front mode. For both modes mentioned, I used eco.
no mines on a stand and on eco pretty much silent.

Not quite, I will still go to a cinema especially the IMAX if there is a big release like DUNE for example.

Hey my friend the Fan noise in the beginning ist that normal mode?
And after that so nice quiet is eco, it stays always so quite in eco mode?
Yes on startup the fan is noisy but once its booted up its in eco mode so stays nice and quiet.

Unfortunately no it does not have bluetooth capability but speakers can be connected via the audio output port.

No but it has a zoom function where you can reduce the screen size.

do you mean to enable you to stream ? this does not have wifi built in, there is a dongle that you can purchase separately.
