I have a funky cat in the UK and like most of it, but the main criticism is no rear wiper, this is dangerous in the UK as spray from the roads makes rear vision impossible and you have to stop to clean it, also the touch screen does not always work, but this is a problem I have as numerous touch screens cannot recognise my touch so impossible to use on the go, on the plus side it is very responsive, reasonably economical at 3.5 miles per KW, comfortable easy to drive if you switch off lane keep assist and a lovely colour, mine is mars red, black roof and white interior
Thanks for the comment and sharing Ora ownership experience. Same here in Australia a wiper would be handy however lots of drivers don't like the look so I guess it's one of those things.
I didn't realise that any Oras were on the road yet. So that means that all three EVs for under $40,000 - the MG4, BYD Dolphin and the Ora - are all now on our roads. Excellent news! It's very disappointing to see so many EV brands requiring annual servicing. This is a blatant rip off because EVs have few components to service.
@@ElectricCarAustraliathis coming week I'm running an EV education session for members of the University of the Third Age (U3A) in Brisbane. U3A is a seniors education organisation run by volunteer tutors and this will be my second of what looks like becoming a permanent class that I run every month. It's great to be able to share my knowledge as an EV owner to help future first-time EV owners on their transition to EV ownership. Best wishes and keep up the great videos.
I think a piece of complicated machinery like a car which can cause death and injury if it goes wrong should be checked once a year. Also, if the manufacturer is warranting the car for seven years it helps the manufacturer head off any developing issue. Having said that, the service fees are in some cases excessive.
Whatever is happening in ev land their not talking about the many many ev fires that are happening,ev insurance is going off the scale if you can find any, people are sleepwalking into a right mess.😂😂😂😂
Do a quick search and you’ll find that EVs are less likely to catch fire than ICE cars or hybrids. In my experience in Ireland, EV insurance is much the same as ICE. I have seen horror stories from other countries.
With global warming occurring at the rate of thirteen Hiroshima atomic bombs per second, it is worth putting up with the odd EV fire. The Ora Good Cat has LFP batteries which makes them even safer than ternary battery cars.
Seriously, try some evidence-based resarch vs. doomscrolling social media that is often just 'made up' (eg, Brexit, Trump & unfortunatley the recent referendum) & even more central: stop spreading this - is exaclty how disinformation works, bad news is whitlled down, travels fast and gets re-posted. eg a recent case of this re. EVs: American UA-camr with 1.42mil subscriber posts video about 'conspiracy' in China what with many BYD EVs catching fire and all is lost, yadda, yadda. Meanwhile all of the comments were ranting about this along with blantant racism & reposting in a frenzy etc. Apparently none of these followers even bothered to look or stop for a second .... but someone did, and called it out. The video wasn't even disguised & was apparently a diesel Range Rover, and this was also confirmed by looking up the number plate which was also visible. The UA-camr tried to present as 'authoratitive' dressed in suit, tie and fancy mic on stand. Turns out he's a disgruntled South African who lived in China but it 'didn't work out' ... While there may be many issues with EVs in their relative infancy, this 'catching fire' BS is not one of them. Another recent case of EV fires propaganda: MG was blamed for the same thing in AU, but the reality was that a defective battery system had been removed from a car & had been stored very poorly, asking for trouble. International stats (duckduckgo it) clearly show that the greatest number of car fires are associated with Hybrid vehicles (looking at you Toyota). eg: gizmodo.com.au/2022/02/hybrid-cars-burn-more-often-than-electric-and-gas-powered-cars-combined-study/ caredge.com/guides/hybrid-car-fires blog.gitnux.com/car-fire-statistics/
Thanks for the comment. Statistically though my diesel is more likely to catch fire than my EV and my insurance is about the same for both....just sayin!
Love it , great chat , I really like this car , and seriously if I had the money, I would buy one to
I've just bought an ORA cat in Cape Town. Sadly my wife has stolen it.
Really fab car.
Enjoy your videos and great to see an independent channel for here is Australia
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for the comment and welcome!

I just got my Ora extended range today, yay
@@DeannaVanVelsen-jh7ys Congrats Deanna, I'm sure you will love it. All the owners I talk to do.
@ElectricCarAustralia thanks. I am in QLD too.
Definitely has that classic Porsche look on the front end.
Agreed!
Not a fan of the styling but each to their own. Thanks for sharing.
Heh. I also have a Suzuki Swift Sport and I'm looking at getting one of these next year.
(I'm waiting for Demos to start being put up for sale)
Great idea!

Yep they sure are and I agree great to see more lower budget ones appearing with more to come :)

Lots of fossil vehicles have secondary/lifter fuel pumps in the tank.
