Excellent update. Amazing how a little paint can make it look much better, i think the body is growing on me. I'll see what happens when it actually turns up here.
Thank you Chris for an update on the questionable looking Utron body. I have a kit on order and what I’m hoping for is to peel the window stickers and change the rear window config….losing the rear 3/4 windows and making the rear window longer, then repaint the roof flat white on the exterior side for some realism. From your experience is the body mold smooth to allow me to make the changes. Thanks and glad to hear the shop is updated. 👍
Oh, that looks great, and appreciate you took it out in the natural light, very nice! I started being crazy about the Gazoo Toyota paint scheme, so everything I paint these days looks like that, and I am hoping to get this one in the builder's kit, so I can do it also, sadly the separate body for this is quite pricey...
@@hemistormrc thanks! I try to avoid buying too many stickers, mostly I try to paint what I want, I learned that from following a certain channel, you know... I painted up my Tamiya DB01 in that livery, I have a video with it if you want to see...
Awesome work as always Chris! 👏 nice to see you back in painting business ❤ How long do you let the base paint cure before you're masking over? I had some paint chipping of in the past.
I agree with everyone else it looks excellent 👌 I've painted quite a few RC bodies but I've never painted on the outside of the body.. to get the paint to look glossy do you have to put a clear coat over the top?
I love the paint job and accessories, but for me the rear is a little bit boring with all the black.... just give the rear end a bit of your magic hands an it would be absolutely awesome, much more than it is now... great work as always 👍💪
How long do you give the layers to dry before masking over the first three colors to keep it from pealing up paint? Love what you do and always look forward to your new videos.
Ironic laugher after "you may fall in love with it!" Statement. Take more than a bit of paint for that buddy. But looks much better than stock though! 😉👌
That could prove itself even more expensive! I find that Tamiya cans last pretty long, dunking them in some hot water before use gets you more bang for buck too.
@@hemistormrc just experimenting with lexan scraps. Everything is so ex now. A bottle of Tamiya cost around 7 bucks here for the normal colors. Normal spray paint only cost 1-2 bucks.. 😁 as race kit builder we will try to keep the build cost down..The biggest bodyshell to paint I would say is the sct body. Perhaps in the long run airbrush would be more cost effective. Agreed Tamiya paint can last very long and can use till the last drop.. 😁
The Master at his Craft !!!! Always a treat to watch you work ….
Agreed !
Thanks a million, Mike!
@@hemistormrc anytime Chris !!!! always an honor ..
very good job 😁 friends🎶🍻🤝
Substantially better with your touch on it, Chris. Love seeing it outdoors at the end! I presume to already know what printer it is...
Thank you so much, my friend! Probably not the printer you have in mind (yet), but that one is definitely very high on the wish list!
Can’t stop scrolling on you to find something to watch! Thanks!🙌🏼 It turned out great! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your support! 😃
Bro, amazing work as always!
Thank you so much 😀
Printed parts add some much needed detail, nice work Chris.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for sharing my man. I truly enjoy watching and learning all your tricks.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video. The wheel and tire choice alone improves the look a lot 👍🏻
I like it great work as always man. 🤘🏻
Thanks a ton!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share painting tips. Came out fantastic as usual.
You are so welcome! Thank you for stopping by!
Looks so much better. The SSD wheels were a nice touch as well.
Always helping out! Teaching! Great work Chris! You’re a great guy… a true asset to our beloved hobby!

Looks fantastic! I think an overlander kit in the bed would do wonders to even it out but as always it's inspiring just to see what you come up.
I totally agree! However, I have a few more plans for this chassis that involve a different body. :)
That body grew on me as well. It has a very promising look to work off of .
Wow, I can't believe how epic that turned out. It looked so simple to do! Completely transformed the truck. Thanks for the tutorials Chris.
Glad you liked it, and definitely very simple to do so easy to replicate at home if you feel like a little project. Thank you for the kind words!
@@hemistormrc I appreciate it Chris! I am just starting a project and this video gave me hope! Lol

Possibly hit up SOR Graphics to see if there is a Gazoo livery available from them. Thank you for the kind words!

Not long at all, 10-15 minutes. Just paint thin coats and clean well before you apply. Have fun!
HEMISTORM! HELL YA!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome work Chris! Iblike the custom touches you did. Also just subscribed

Great job as always! Are the KC Highlites decals vinyl cut or just decals? Thank you.
I vinyl cut them on my Xtool M1 👍🏼😄

HEMI DA MAN! TRD! TRD! TRD!
Nice👌🏽

Not long at all, perhaps 10-15 minutes. The trick is not to spray your layers too thick. Have fun!

Dumb question for ya, masking over new paint didnt peel it off, asking since I have a scx6 honcho interior I'm trying to paint up right now
Do you ever sand the body? If not what do you do to prep it?
First like!
🙌🏼😄
Only thing paint is so ex now.. 😂 I even use normal paint from hardware shop.. some of it will stick on lexan 🤣
