If anyone thinks this is easy, try doing it. It will cost you plenty and a hard amount of effort. This seat will take about 24 hours of continuous work, plus no distractions to get it right! I have been doing this stuff for 40 years and still have only 6 stamping tools.I have never needed any more. It has kept me in pocket money for most of this time and payed the rent quite a few times, and I still love doing it!
Out of curiosity, what tools do you have? I was looking at getting into leather working and was looking for a few good tools to start with so I don't end up breaking the bank for something I don't end up liking. Thanks :)
More than likely, it's the basic beginner Tandy kit assortment. I bought one (made in the 70's) off ebay for $7 shipped. Like Colin, they're the only stamps I use. I've bought other stamps, but I never use them.
I have 8 tools from tandy and a bunch I've made from various junk. (old forks for equal hole punching) Been crafting for 10 years off and on and I still have so much more too learn.
@@grumpyalison4869 you can get a set of 16 tools on amazon for under 20 bucks they have leathercraft toolsets for 60 with everything you need...watch some of the leathercraft channels they are a great resource Dan Gonzales or Weaver Leather are some good ones
Some of them Amazon leather working tools are just so cheaply made 🤮... I plan on spending some good money on my next set.... they just don’t make stuff like they used to

There is only one method to accomplish This level of artistry and competence, hours, hours and years. Superb craftsmanship.
Get all the things you need from Tandy Leather. They are quite expensive but you will not be ripped off and they really know what they are doing and selling and very very helpful to the first time buyer!

You can get that tool on eBay. It's similar to a Craft Japan #E386 background matting stamp.
