Fantastic video, congratulations! Note: on my Pais model there is a screw on the sliding button that releases the battery, if I hadn't seen it I would have broken the housing
I just really want to thank you for this video in how to disassemble an hp pavilion dm 1. One of the hinge of my Dm1 was moving. when I opened it, its broken. I just bought lubricant for the hinges and a mighty bond heat and water resistants and fix all the broken pieces of plastic where the nut is place. its really hard but I already fix it. So much thank you.
I know the video is old (and so is this fellow notebook, haha), but a huge thank you! I opened up the botton, cleaned the cooler, changed the hd for an ssd (that's how I am more than 6 years with this notebook), but never had the courage to reach the cpu and change the thermal paste. I searched for guides do open the notebook and took a while to find this video. Now I know that I will only change the thermal paste if I really need to.
I did it! It lowered the temperatures by 6 degrees and made the notebook a little bit silenter. And I remove a SD card adapter that was stuck for more than 5 years!! And it wasn't very difficult or nerve wreckin, except the part that I removed the touchpad and the motherboard, since the fear of breaking it is huge!
I replied two years ago i won't dismantle this thing but recently i found a battery and wanted to give it life, at least use it to RDP to my home network and willing to let it go if i lose it, but the processor was crazily heating up, today i decided to dismantle it and cleaned the old paste and applied fresh one and put it back together. CPU/GPU temperature is now around 57 degrees Celsius, down from 80c, no heat felt since applying fresh thermal paste. I'm sure HP thought people are going to bring it back to service center to fix the heating/slowness issue or just throw it to garbage but such a nice device from 2011 is now best use as 11 inch laptop enough to browse and RDP to my home computer from outside...hoping to keep it for few more years and as an antique lol
Hey, NICE!!! You know, so many companies and people are saying something about how they think about our planet and shit, and the only people who actually are - people like you and me!
Thanks, man! This is the ONLY cool video that helped to replace a thermal paste! I recommend u to write in the name of this video the number of the laptop's model - 3000 - to help others to find your video. Model HP Pavilion dm1-3000.
+Vladimir Dulevich hey, Thanks man. I honestly don't remember if it is dm1-1000 or 3000, if you find it relevant for dm1-3000, I will update it right now. Thank you!
Wow, thank for the video, I just open this old small laptop, cleaned all with vacuum cleaner and wipe with soft cloth. Upgrade to 4gigs RAM and 128Gb SSD not bad for plug it with external monitor to watch forex chart LOL
Muito bom o seu vídeo! A muito tempo estava procurando um vídeo tão bem explicado como este, agora posso fazer a manutenção do meu netbook sem medo! Bem que o HP Pavilion dm1 não tem muitos segredos!
Good job on taking appart this laptop. The external case of mine is ruined and I was wondering where I could get the parts for cheap shipped to Europe. Any idea? Thx
Aonde fica o microfone interno desse netbook hp estou perguntando porque no meu o mic parou de funcionar e queria saber onde fica o microfone na Placa ja até desmontei o netbook mais não acho nele onde fica o mic
hi. thanks for the video i recently got one of these laptops and when i plug it in it wont turn on and the power light doesnt come on, does that mean that the mother board could be broken or just the regulator.
My fan is at full speed and the computer had gradually thermal throttled to death since 2011. I would love to get it working fast again. I assume I need to clean out the fan and replace the thermal paste on the APU. Is it possible to the just remove the fan and apply new paste without dismantling the whole netbook like this?
Nope, when you remove the back plastic you will see the heatsink and copper pipe, 4 screws attached, to remove that you have to dismantle (without requiring to detaching display) but overall disassembly.
