I was searching how to make this and I watched this first. then came back to to the channel and saw that you uploaded this today. perfect timing.
It is possible when each video that reminds clarification over all the materials used
This helps me to objectively because I learn chemistry and I will work in laboratories
Good to know... Good to know,
Won't neodymium magnets break after just a few shots? I know they arent very strong , if you drop one they will shatter easily so how many shots can you fire before smashing magnets will break ? Anyone has any knowledge about this please let me know
can we use magnetic balls and ordinary magnets
Good day sir, what steel ball bearing where you using. Chrome, Stainless, Hardened, or some other type?
wait, so what happens if you add magnets to a newton pingpong toy thing? could you set it up so that the last ball swings all the way around?
Good idea! Look for a paper called "the gauss pendulum" on Emergent Scientist.
Thanks for the video
So 1 lbs goes in
How many lbs does it turn into
This video is so cool ...thanks , but I have a question ,I don't have any idea about magnets and electronics though , is there any difference between neodymium magnets and ordinary magnets ? How can I find neodymium magnets ? Thank you .
Neodymium magnets are made with a rare earth metal which makes it a very strong magnet. Most hobby shops have them and you can find them on amazon as well.
how long should the piece of wood be for this experiment ?
This was quite helpful but I can find the neodymium magnets or steel balls would you happen to know some places that sell?
Ebay should have this stuff
is there any shops i could find these items (not online)
Interesting, but one would need this becaaaaaaauuuse...?
In case of Eldar.
How big were those magnets? Do you need two at a time or would one be okay?
They are 8mm but as long as the steel ball bearings and the magnets are the same size it should work. You also don't need two stacked on top of each other but I found it worked a little better.
Thanks for a very quick informative response.
Awesome, but how does one reload this?
It has the all ammo stacked in front of the magnet the whole time. Firing a second time means separating the first ball from the magnet so you can drop it again.
Can you give me measurements of magnet
Hey Mr. wizard shows how to make flowers explode again !
I would have loved to know the speed of the last one with a length of 100m
I believe it would reach terminal velocity well before 100m due to friction with the wood and air resistance. I would love to find out experimentally but I would need a high speed camera and a lot more magnets and bearings. Great question!!!
At some point the Steel would deform on impact...
Cooper says Hi.
But that's not a gauss gun
Pretty cool but looks like a bitch to reload. How do weaponized gauss guns work?
Instead of Neodymium magnets they use high energy electromagnets. They are much easier to reload and also allow for much greater projectile velocities.
