Been dougs bigges5 fan for 20 years straight. The first 4 songs of this album... it seems that this new album is a new sound. Different than any album. It has this psychadelic tinge to it. Its different. Its great. I ca t wait to hear the whole album.
Welcome to the fold. So many great songs to discover. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. I see them every time they tour and it's always an incredible show.
Aw. This song sounds so sweet and optimistic. Seems it's gonna be the soundtrack to my major move across my country. "I've had these feelings for a long time Ever since I was a kid I thought they'd go away by now But now I see they never did I learned a lot about the way things are And what we're supposed to do And why you're me and why I'm you How you gonna waste all your time?" omg. i feel ya Doug.
The only band I know that can stay true to their sound, even with different members over the years and still stay fresh to the ears after decades of making music across 10 original albums soon to be 11, can't wait to see you guys in September for show number 5.
@@tonygibson5171 also you in reverse is slept on, it works amazing start to finish as what I would categorize as a concept album - the idea of "what would you do if you could go back and change things? would what you changed have mattered?"
I can listed to BTS all day. Some times I do. Never disappoints. Liking every song from "When the Wind Forgets Your Name" so far. Excited for the full release. Just caught BTS live last weekend, and they rocked!
Built To Spill fans that may not be familiar with *Sub Pop* I highly suggest *Chad VanGaalen* - *"Pine And Clover"* - *"Peace On The Rise"* if you like this sound
@@vincentpierce6992 got it! It was the halo benders. He sings with Calvin Johnson from beat happening, which if you know his stuff or beat happening could sound iffy, but since Calvin sings so low and monotone- it's the perfect compliment and accompaniment for Doug Martsch's high harmony! What is that? Like a tenor? Or would he be a soprano I suppose?
@@elijahshould2098 Treepeople was before BTS was even around yet. I'm not sure about Calvin Johnston. Do you mean Daniel Johnston? Because Marsch or BTS covered a album full of Johston covers. Johnston was a song writing genius. And a raw, and gifted musician. But he was a tortured soul as well. Cheers!
havent heard Doug or BTS for a few years until now and sons of bitches , whores and hookers, it waxes nostalgic! treepeoples "guilt, regret , and embarasment " on tape played a whole summer straight in my car as i unapologetically cruised the narrow streets of japan. high on bron. Boy was I stupid 30 years ago. then 2 years later in MPLS , Tim brings over the first BTS album the week it dropped. we lit cigarettes and sat in the living room , and hit play. silently listening to each track. when it ended we both went out on the front porch and without words to describe our respective joy the music supplied , we instead both threw up at the same time. it cant get any better. a year later i take my older brother with me to see BTS support theres nothing wrong with love at the uptown bar and grill. really tiny joint. we grab a few beers and grab one of the first booths right by the tiny stage and a gentleman politely walks up and with a soft voice apologizes for our mistake. telling us that he had already claimed that booth and my brother laughs at him and says well in order to keep it you should have stayed and gaurded it. your ouotta luck. the guy turns around and i tell my brother , yo man that is the guy we are here to watch play. my bro taps Doug on the shoulder and apologizes and gives up his seat as do i . and the songs ending and i must put a cork on the bottle of nostalgia lest i bore you all with countless more gifts ive recieved from one of the alltime greats.
Well if you wanna know a secret You better wanna take it to your grave I know you'll wanna talk about it But talking doesn't make it go away Oh it's a sticky situation That's why everyone gets stuck! Now you know and Now you know it's gone Now you feel it Now you're feeling wrong Maybe we'll get it Maybe we'll get along Now you know and Now you know it's gone.
Im surprised by the Album. Sounded a little lame at First, but with All genius things, it took 4 spins to hook me. All Songs on side b are amazing, great, they make me cry, thats how great they are. Its such honest and well played music. BTS sounds so human compared to a lot of music these sad days!

Amazing song but the black flashes in the video are kind of hurtful to the eyes :( I know u dont have to watch the video but, might help some people to fix it. Good stuff!

for some reason i keep revisiting this song, over and over and over....
I can't believe I haven't heard of this band before
They're one of the best bands. Shame they're still so unknown to general public
They're one of the greatest bands of the '90s.
Welcome to the fold. So many great songs to discover. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. I see them every time they tour and it's always an incredible show.
not too many bands that have been around for as long as built to spill that can still pump out killer jams like this
Fully Agree! It's just perfect.
I love how they sound like not a day has passed.
I’ve only recently found built to spill and from what I can tell they are highly underrated

This and elements on repeat for days and days
They are coming to Florida!!!!! Sorry just I’m really excited about it.
Dinosaur Jr vibes
Another great band that plays guitars.
My thoughts exactly.
Like if J Mascis had lended Doug that riff
My first thought. It's like Js voice was about to chime in.

Awesome!
OMG! Thank you again Doug! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!
Lovely tune! 🎶 🎵
We are super excited to hear this amazing full-length album. Built to Spill never misses the Best Indie Rock in the world question. Doug is a genius
I only recently discovered BTS but have had them constantly playing since. I like this one for sure.
If you haven’t heard all of the albums ‘perfect from now on’ or ‘keep it like a secret’ you should. They are good from start to finish.

These guys are the best rock band ever the guitars tell stories
Loving these new sounds, very refreshing and not like the usual music out there. Doug is super talented.
Soooooooo sickkkkkk

Doug is my actual hero. I wish he’d collab with Steve Malkamus

Fucking awesome. Beautiful
Damn this album’s gonna be freaking awesome!
Oh wait, it's no surprise, all their albums are!💗
built to spill you will always be famous
Yay!
Ama-sing👍🤟🎸
Love the sound of this!! Great, fuzzy guitar tone which I think was a little lackluster on Untethered Moon. Can't wait to get the new album on vinyl.
Well done

Thank you I Love you(all) and your Songs SOOOOOOOmuch! #yourmusicismymedicine. 😻😽😸😹
The opening kind of reminds me of Kids in the Hall theme.
I dig it. Anything by BTS or Treepeople is killer, in my opinion.
Treepeople were the best live band in Seattle back in the day. So great.
Hell yeah bongburro
Hell yes, almost forgot about the side projects... Didn't he do a project with Calvin Johnston too??

Much better than untethered moon, fresh sounding. And criminally underrated already, in rym and MC.
Thanks dug
That guitar tone is almost perfect. I am not a pro at this but I am guessing it is a Centaur or a Centaur clone. Such a pretty sounding overdrive
