- "Tajabone" is a short film about the french black queer community taking pride in who they are, what they have achieved, and embracing the bodies they are in. Wearing leopard-print leotards that embody their fierce dancing styles, the stars of "Tajabone" use their bodies to explore the fragility, strength, and conviction at the heart of a community bonded by radical self-expression... continue reading on www.nowness.co...

"i am an eternal song that sings itself"
damn.
Moving poetry; poetry in movement.
Artful bodies; embodied art.
Mesmerizing. 💫
I fell in love with this poem, but couldn’t find the script on the Internet. So hope this helps:
In the belly of mourning, I am born, but I do not come out screaming.
We've been doing all kinds of magical things.
I will drink you with my eyes.
My skin is dark as night.
I am an eternal song that sings itself.
We are a prayer.
We are a prayer that blesses itself.
I am my sister's promise.
I am my brother's promise that I will love myself.
I am strong because I have no choice, but I am fragile.
I am fragile too.
I am soft like the wave, the sand, the dew, but I am fragile.
I am fragile too.
I am soft like the wave, but I am fragile.
This land, this land that was carved out of my rib.
The sea, the sea that flows with my blood.
This is what freedom feels like, baby.
So
A thousand dreams, a thousand seas, a thousand fees.
A thousand dreams you.
Poet Mykki Blanco
This reminds me of that moment in Paris in Burning when a couple of girls from the House of Xtravaganza are on the beach and one of the girls is in a leopard bathing suit and says, "I'm as free as the wind that's blowing out on this beach." Beautiful.
This is amazing !!! Such beautiful, strong work !!
Nice camera work and of course the dance and cherography.
Artistic prowess, just too beautiful !
¡Espectacular!
This is so pure and strong. Breathtaking !
That was so powerful..
Thank you so much.
I feel like the poem would have been best written & delivered in French, by someone in the community. Mykki Blanco is African-American, and has lived very different cultural experiences than the dancers in this video. That part felt a little disconnected. Otherwise, the movement artistry was beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful🖤
I want more please🙌🏽

Are they homosexuals ??
Yes
Men are already empowered.
Gay men? Not really
@@simonl.6338 Yes, are they not men? We wouldn't have the glass escalator if they weren't empowered already.
Are you missing that it's about Queer Black People and not about "Men" on purpose ? why ?
There are women in this video as well
@@remiesslinger5100 no but for some reason you want to miss the 'men' part of it and it's even in the title. Male privilege exists, deal with it.
amazing
💞
gross, disturbing, cult like even.
Why not some dance music? Instead of this muted meditation like music?
Дааааа...Калаша не хватает ... И зачем я это увидел? Спать теперь не буду)))
