Manu’a is a great place to glean info, although big families may be tight-lipped about prying into lineage. Thank you for taking an interest Mr. Van der Ryn.

If a U.S. citizen (retired veteran) were interested in moving to American Somoa where is the best place to begin research, such as housing (not vacation rentals)?

The wikitravel page actually has pretty good information: wikitravel.org/en/American_Samoa. As does the American Samoa visitors bureau: www.americansamoa.travel/.

Wow, too bad this show didn't try to get a local to present the culture, you know someone who may have some love for the land and their people. Always a hard pill to swallow to see a blondie walking around the island as if it's some kind of ancient museum, it's cool she's interested. Not feeling the love and joy--which is essential to teaching about the islands.

Interesting also how she questioned Apulu on how she became a coordinator when she didn't ask the same questions of the foreigners who are undertaking studies and reaidencies on our shores.

The Samoans were a lot smarter than the Hawaiians in my opinion. Samoa 🇼🇸 is owned by Samoans enough said😎 Good for the samoan people 👍🏻

That's because American Samoa doesn't have enough land for the capitalists to capitalize on.

There was never ever a fishing season. The chiefs say no and now a depleted reef.
