Have you been seeking that SRV tone? Plugin and you'll instantly feel it! I can't play like Stevie, but I do love the tone that man commanded - let's see what this puppy can do!
I feel lucky to found out this beautiful channel. You are great man Mark, hope you gonna reach all your beautiful dreams!! Your videos are dope, keep rockin' please :)
you are the best! trying to decide between Jan ray and this monster?? lol I have a 64 strat and a tyler princeton..lookin for a great "transparent" sound..I always love the sound of the strat and not covered up with gobs of gain! which would u recommend?? also what pick did you use here..thanks!!!
Great demo love how you covered all the areas of possible tone differences. I cover a lot of SRV but my clean stuff comes from the Vertex SSS and recently got the Origin Effects Revival Drive for material with more dirt. Nothing seems to really have the focus of the Blues Power but I have QUESTION.......because the BP is up there in cost, do you think the Crazy Tube Circuits Crossfire is an equal or a really good compromise with the Blues Power doing most SRV material better?
So… I was just watching your Eli Lester interview and y’all were talkin’ ‘bout throwing various fuzzes in front of a Jan Ray and I was thinking “Have they tried the Blues Power yet?“ It has become my “always on” with my Classic Reverb Signature.
@@markhopkinsmusic I was hunting for a Duelist after trying one on a session guy’s board and the Blues Power literally fell into my lap in a parking lot deal. I took it home, plugged it in, and WHAMMO! That’s THE SOUND! Try your fuzzes with it. Try humbuckers with it. Put your Klone in front of it.
I got a Duellist a few months ago and the only problem is that I wish I hadn't discovered this pedal for another year or so haha. I NEED ONE! but can't justify it just yet since I'm still poor from the Duellist. She will be mine at some point though.
@@thejamnasium6447 this is a late comment but I personally much prefer the Blues Power to the Duellist (I sold my Duellist but the Blues Power is a nearly always on pedal for me)
My truth is that I love the sound and power of this pedal. It really screams and has THE perfect SRV vibe. I can’t play like Stevie but I always loved the throaty sound of his guitar and this does it in spades. I like it way more than any TS circuit
Mark……. I’m spiraling right now lol. I have the Gladio SC (used on the cleaner side) the blues power (cranked up, el mocambo vibes) and the new King tone Fuzz (still trying to dial it in)….. my question is……… do I need a germanium boost?…… I’m eying the Benson Germanium boost but not sure if it would be overkill…..I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you!
I think you’d be fine without the boost. Between the SC and the BP that’s all you need. I have both of those pedals and they play very nicely together.
Great review. I’ve been trying to figure out what pedal the BP is closest to when describing it to people… TS, Klon, bb… I dunno. I love the Blues Power. It can be it’s own thing too. That’s fine with me. It’s a sweet pedal.
I think this pedal does the SRV, BIG Bold Tone a bit more on the nose. I love the Gladio SC too and use that almost like a clean, saturated boost. I feel like this pedal will be my Classic Strat bluesy tone. I freaking love it!
I have both. I think you can get similar sounds. I use the BP for my light drive and the Jan Ray for my medium lead tones. The Jan Ray has a great bass control and I just favor it’s medium drive. The BP really excels at the light drives. Better then pretty much any less I’ve tried.
@@markhopkinsmusic thanks for your reply, what's your favorite position? your video and play is awesome🔥, i bought New vision BP yesterday, i like the “punch ”position.😀
Sounds nothing like SRV. I don't get why everyone tries to say that. Get a tubedreamer by Jam and a good tube amp. Nice playing and nice gear, and good sounding pedal but I have only heard a few pedals get to SRV and they involve different gear than this.
You're sounding great man! This pedal just sounds awesome on every setting!
thanks buddy! it's pretty inspiring to play through!

Awesome demo... Thank you!
No problem, and Thank You!
geez that sounds awesome! especially on the bridge.
It’s killer, man! So much fun to play through.
great playing a demo, this is one device i will never sell.
Thanks!
Yeah man you do struggle with that Stevie sound!😉 Grabbing a Blues Power tomorrow I hope I sound a little like that. Nice work Mark!
Haha thanks Adam!
Love this pedal!!! Nice Review! All of his pedals are sweet! ~cheers
100% Thanks John!
@@markhopkinsmusic My pleasure!
Why the combo? Any reason?
@@johnschoppmusic just for small room gigs - so easy to swap it in and out I thought why not! Way cheaper than buying another TR Amp too :-)
@@markhopkinsmusic right. Totally makes sense. Love these Two Rocks!!
Just ordered one of these. Super excited to plug it into my Princeton Reverb 65 RI and Strat.
Nice playing too Mark. Subbed.
@@CleanNOTSerene Thanks so much! Yeah, it’s definitely one of my favorite overdrive pedals. It really likes being hit with a fuzz too!!
Nice “third stone from the sun” moment! Trying to decide between this pedal and the soloist
Thanks for watching! this pedal all day over the soloist IMO - it's just got the coolest characteristics.
@@markhopkinsmusic interesting. The soloist sounds already amazing but now I want to try the blues power
It's my always on pedal. It's amazing what it does with fuzz and clean amps...
So true! It’s a sleeper pedal- everybody needs one
This video is changing my mind here. This is FANTASTIC. And I think this is a pretty acute representation of its capabilities. We'll done sir.
Thanks Lee!
Sounds great to me,trying to decide now between this or the Browne amps.protein.

I'd go this all day if you're looking for that transparent sound! Picks, always Jazz 3's

Thanks so much David! Honestly I’ve never played the Crossfire so I don’t know. I should check that pedal out too!
The Blues Power circuit is based on the Timmy pedal. A Timmy will get you there too. It doesn't have the 3 position switch, but that's it.

Bro, which one do you like more, the BP or Antique v2?

Jimi hendrix in the last settings
thanks!!
Great honest demo Mark, THANKS!… quick one, how would you separate the Gladio SC and this? What would be YOUR personal applications for them?

Could you please make a video of Blues Power vs. Jan Ray?
I’ll pop it on my list of videos for sure!

awesome,what's the internal dip switch?
they are for Mid frequency tone shaping - it already has enough mids for me, but super rad to have the option!

@@toya3616 honestly, I just leave everything stock and mostly run it on the Edge setting for that sparkly bite! Such an amazing pedal
What should I get? blues power or soloist?
I'd recommend the BP, because it's something different than a TS circuit - I absolutely love mine!
Humbuckers ?
I have no humbucking guitars, BUT I am in the market this year for sure! 335 or Singlecut... that is the question
If you had to pick one.....this or the duellist?
Honestly, I think the Blues Power
Cool thanks, I’m sure either would sound great with my Strat through Princeton but the blues power definitely sounds more open and natural in demos.

Fair enough. I'll never be SRV level playing so to me I dig this for more of that tubey overdrive vibe. Thanks for watching James.
That’s not plugged into a clean tone
