Locals don't go to the beaches, we stay away due to tourists and transplants. Housing has quadruple in the past 24 months, rent is 2k+ for a 1 bedroom apartment. It is unaffordable for the locals due to all the transplants, yes we hate the transplants due to them increasing out living cost. If you move to the area with a 200k yr job from up north the job salary equivalent is 80k here.
@@leonwizard5 Out of pure curiosity, What area? Even the Hood is expensive nowadays! JS. Just a some advice, NEVER, EVER GO by the picture they show & Always drive by late night! I'm not even kidding
Everyone here talking about bugs and roaches!! You don’t need bug sprays or exterminators coming into your house using toxic chemicals around your kids or pets. I use two “plug-in” devices called PEST OFFENSE that send pulses through your wall’s electrical system that keep all bugs and rodents away from your house or condo. They’re cheap and can be ordered online or probably purchased at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
Terrible for us natives. It's not home anymore. Everything has went up except our pay . Less than 6 years ago i payed 695 for a two bedroom apartment in St Petersburg that's not worth any more than that honestly the neighbors tell me now it's going for 1400
I'd like to know where is it inexpensive to live. No where on this planet earth is! I have lived in Tampa for 23 years and still love it. A place is what you make it. You want to be happy? Wake up with a grateful heart, happiness and joy in your mind. No place in our wide universe is perfect! 😍
The hourly rate down here is so low compared to the north. 15.00 an hour for a substitute teacher with 30 years experience. It’s definitely a red state
I have lived in Dunedin Florida which is a small city in the Tampa Bay Area for the past 18 years. It is on the water and known for it's quaint atmosphere - gift shops, small businesses, unique restaurants, etc. It is about 25 miles from Tampa, 6 miles from Clearwater Beach. I have truly enjoyed living here and I raised my family here. We did Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens - including water parks, etc.- lots of family fun here! I have cruised the entire Caribbean - mostly sailing from the Tampa or Canaveral Ports which are both very accessible. Unfortunately, the problems you speak of are true, but on the other hand - no place is perfect. It used to be very affordable here, but now it is not! However, people are still moving into the area everyday - most say they love it - so the area must still have something to offer them. Like they say, "If it's a choice between snow and sunshine, you don't have to shovel sunshine!" If anyone is considering a move here, definitely come down for a visit first - eyes wide open!
Moved to Tampa Bay Area in 1996. Area has really changed. Yes the nice family beaches like Clearwater beach has been ruined by big businesses. They knocked down the mom and pop motels and replaced with gigantic high rise hotels and condos. I now hate Clearwater beach. Stopped going there. Too much traffic too many crazy drivers
Clearwater has never been a nice family beach. It’s always been a tourist trap just goes to show you’re not from Florida and you don’t know where the real beaches are most Yankees don’t we keep it secret
Lived in FL 16 yrs and hated it. Hurricane hoopla summer way too humid bugs large mosquitos ppl are nasty drivers are nuts uturns on highway pay is awful.health care is wicked food is terrible slow paced in stores vets are a disaster hairdresser missed school that day Im sure i missed something Rents now are off the wall I would never go back there. Not even to visit. Fl makes snow look good.
We moved to the Tampa area in 2014. I would agree with most of your comments, but let’s look at a few things. 1. You decided to move to Tarpon Springs, probably knowing it’s a touristy town. If not, then you didn’t do your research as a real estate agent. Touristy towns like Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, Dunedin, and the like attract people and bugs. 2. Pest control is just part of living. In NJ we had to deal with mice and sometimes rats in the city where we lived. You did forget to mention the two love bug seasons, May and September. 3. One of my biggest complaints is traffic. Planners never seem to project far enough into the future. No one wants to discuss light rail or extending trolley service in Tampa. Luckily, I have some control when I leave for work. Avoiding 75 and 275 from 7:00 to 9:00 am and 4:00 to 7:00 pm is paramount. 4. Except for Ybor, Tampa basically shuts down at night, unless there’s a sporting event. You better like hockey and football. The Straz is nice and offers some great shows, but again it’s seasonal. 5. The three seasons in the Tampa area are hot, hotter and hottest. 6. Our friend with the confederate flag was taken to court and he won freedom of speech. Thy guy is in his 90’s I believe. But I must say for the most part we’ve been warmly received and maybe because we’re involved in our local Catholic Church we don’t feel the squeeze from Flo-grown people. 7. County planning is poor at best. Communities are built and impact fees for developers seem to be applied to the wrong areas. Build or widen roads first, then add homes. That’s backward in southern Hillsborough. 8. I’m not a beach person so I can’t speak to that area, but living inland a bit I’ve found that it’s a little quieter on weekends around the neighborhood because everyone is going to the beach or Orlando. Thanks for your insights.
I love tampa Bay Area , good for business , weather at the beach is awesome ! Bugs are manageable ( buy mesh doors etc , ) I really hope there is more housing inventory to buy more
I was born and raised in Tampa . I love Tampa it's my home. However living there was really hard the jobs don't pay to match the growing cost of living. 2000 a month for a apartment and the job only pays 40k is absolutely unreasonable. Paying that for a mortgage is different depending on the size and location. I make 80k and I'm single and I still refuse to pay that to live. If you can help me find a home in a decent area I would like to get your help.
@@SoldierJ613 most , have you actually looked ? Because I have and found lots. Don't think you can find much cheaper rent in most of the country so it's nation wide. It's bullshit
@@xfhnhhgjbvcfg been looking in Tampa area for 6 months and can’t find anything decent under $2,000 for rent unless it’s a studio or a crappy apartment
I moved to Tampa in 2017. Love the area. Moved from Ohio to Florida. Love the weather the most and I’m so happy that Hillsborough county voted blue. As far as the heat, I’ve became acclimated to the heat. I would recommend relaxing outside in the shade during the summer more often. Now, after an extended hot summer, that first fall day of 75° literally feels “chilly”. As far as a job, I was fortunate enough to transfer from Ohio to Florida. I’m earning over $38.00 per hr so it really helped with the ability to live somewhat comfortable.
I was raised in tarpon springs and live in tampa/Brandon. When we visit my mom and dad in tarpon I talk about how much less people there is. In Brandon you can go 5 miles without spending 45min in traffic
Florida is adding 1,000 people a day. Am an East Coast refugee that found solace in a cheaper state in the Midwest that everyone whines about. This state gains 50 people a week. So it serms I made a lateral move to a place that actually has livable weather and I actually have to wear a coat in the winter. Oh, and it costs a fraction of what it costs to live in 'paradise'.
I sold my house and left in 2020. Transplants clogging up the streets, traffic, accidents, rollovers and lots of death on the streets, especially motorcycles and pedestrians. My little community was being destroyed! No way I was going to stay, but I don’t blame you. Pretty much everyone who lives there transplanted at one point or another, and we all contributed to the downfall because we bragged and posted sunset pictures. Don’t worry, your blood will thin out and the mosquitoes won’t want you anymore after a few years. Hire a good bug spray company and spray every 3 months. Wear Under Armour clothes. Go to the beaches on weekdays at 3am and you’ll find parking. I’m sorry it’s not the beautiful place it used to be anymore, but I hear it’s still better than Manhattan or Los Angeles. I’m not telling anyone where I moved to because it’s a beautiful, quiet, quaint community right on the ocean…and I want it to stay that way. Shhhh 😉
Thats the point. Nothing said will stop anyone from moving here so It's more of an advertisement for his real estate business. Like a car review, everything is great but I wish it had just one more cup holder.
Reasons you dont move to Florida, terrible medical system clogged up by "part-time" residents that are directly contributing to homelessness. Homelessness is on the rise as wages are not increasing with the cost of living. Tampa is going to have a massive issue as the locals can't afford to live there putting many businesses out due to labor shortages. People moving here are just like any other American, who are completely against low-income housing. Don't be surprised by the tent city that will be taking over soon.
It's July and you are so correct the housing market here is just booming. Friend of mine she put a condo for sale 100k in Tampa a week ago.... it sold in a day with multiple offers over the asking price. To keep it in perspective that's about 5 years worth of rent at current market rental prices. And you absolutely must have professional pest control. I use insect IQ in Tampa locally based.
I don’t know what your talking about with the heat. The summer is the nicest time of the year. I Love our summers. Our winters suck though. It’s not as warm as advertised. You need to go south about 100 miles for mild winters.
I am a snow bird in Dunedin. I won't go down town on weekends. Totally avoid down town Friday night, Saturday night. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, fine. You are correct. Weekends are too crowded after 5PM Friday to Sunday.
No its not really hot anymore. I get listings all the time and I see prices are going down, not up. Also listing are sitting for much longer than they were a month or two ago. And I'm seeing much more inventory in south Tampa than there was a month ago. There is a definite shift going on. I watch the market very closely.
Dude, I lived in an apartment on the 2nd floor and condo on the 5th. Never an issue with bugs. It’s your place, it must be infested. We have a ton of bugs in St. Louis because of all of the woods. Just as bad here, maybe worse.
I’ve lived in st Pete in a100yr old house and have seen 10 dead palmetto bugs during this time. I would freak if I saw 15 at once. Sounds like an infestation
The locals can have this sorry city. I moved from Minneapolis and this move was a major downgrade. Many cons, very little pros. As far as "locals", there aren't many, most people I've meet aren't from here. This city doesn't have much to offer.
Omg we had the same issues. Bugs are so bad. Especially the flying coach 🪳. And the snowbirds at lease where we live haven’t went home. It’s crowded 24/7.
I let out a guteral gasp of shock when you said you were originally from a small Oklahoma town as someone who is from a small Oklahoma town looking to move to Tampa soon!
"The locals" need to get over themselves! This land is your land and this land is my land/ From California to the New York island/ From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters/ This land was made for you and me/
You say that but when life becomes difficult due to influx of snowbirds and you can't see your doctor because out of Towner's take up too much space you will rethink. I have lived in many areas of Florida and it's always the same thing. People come from other states and want to make Florida just like where they left. Go back! Don't change my state, my town, my home!
I agree with you! In addition to Florida….TEXANS love to get on You Tube and proceed to TELL newcomers to that state how to act and how to vote which pisses me off. No American has the right to tell a fellow American how to vote, how to act or what to say so get the “F” over it!!
I have been planning a move to Tampa for 5 years. Now, I’m not sure. I’m moving from Montana which has become so unaffordable for locals because of all of the transplants that have moved here. I’m from Louisiana and cannot wait to move south again but I know how the Montana locals feel about the out of staters that have moved here and I cringe at the thought that once I get to Florida, the Floridians will have those same thoughts about me 😔
Hey Heather! I think the external factors affected by influx of people moving from out of state is the largest contribution to locals frustration. My team and I are all transplants from different places and have felt right at home!
@@dystopian2153 It’s completely understandable and unfortunately the out of staters moving here are doing just that: bringing crime and liberal voting/ideology. If I come to Florida, I will bring neither :)
@@LivinginTampa Belated Welcome to Tarpon Springs. I grew up there. I am half Greek. My father was mayor and commissioner in the 60s and just a big part of the town. Too bad you will never get to experience the very uniqueness of our Greek Easter. It's not celebrated as enthusiastically as it was in the 80s. All of my friends always wanted to join in. Fireworks everywhere! And the Epiphany was huge! All my friends (not Greeks) would get the day off school to attend Epiphany and our glendy celebration. That was what was so great about our community. Everyone shared their faiths and celebrations. I also attended the Methodist church as well. I now Live in Palm Harbor but still go to sponge docks with my husband often and work for my cousin out there. It's a great place to raise a child and a great community. Maybe not as good as when I was growing up in the 80s when I could ride my bike across town to my girlfriend's. My parents weren't concerned. We often left our door unlocked. All of my relatives lived blocks away. Such a great place. Wish you had gotten to experience that part. So safe and wonderful. 🥰✝️🙏

We just get irritated. At least I do haha. I hear Montana is beautiful. Always wanted to go there. But I know it's very expensive as is Wyoming. Two places I would love to live. By the way my friend has dealt with the same issues in Colorado. She owns a ranch and is dealing with the liberal transplants from Cali who live in Denver passing crazy laws in her area that affect the ranchers. I have met many transplants who love it here. They have moved to my hometown in Tarpon Springs and are very happy. Tampa, Palm Harbor, Westchase, Clairmont, Dunedin and Clearwater are also great and if you like rural areas Brooksville, Ocala, Dade City, Zephyrhills, Apopka and Citrus Springs are nice. I prefer South Florida but can't afford it. East coast is gorgeous. Tarpon is on the west coast and is beautiful and has it's own Greek and Victorian charm which is interesting. I do wish you the best in your search for a new home and community. 🥰
You almost described living in Az. same thing here. Roaches will eat anything put all your storage in plastic totes with lids. My daughter moved to Tampa just got exterminator yep $200 1st time & monthly charges. She got rid of the pool person & they will be doing it themselves & checking chemicals think that was $85 a month, he came once a week for 10 minutes. LOL
Have you tried Febreze to kill bugs? I found when I lived in Texas that for whatever reason bugs do not like febreze! So I started spraying it around doors and windows and boy did it make a difference. Be careful not to breathe it though obviously it's not as safe as one might think.
I'm from South FL so the bugs and heat here are nothing. I ride my bicycle for hours in the middle of Summer, and I wear sweat pants and hoodie to the beach when it's 60 degrees and sunny..... so I guess you get used to the heat.
It’s not bad. Tampa like any other place has it pros and cons. It’s a big culture shock coming from so far away. Me personally I like Philly better as a city. But Tampa/St.Pete is nice, and I think is better suited for kids. Philly crime rate is outta hand. Lot of different factors
Although I get newcomers can be annoying to locals, it's never going to stop, and not even in Florida but in any other state. We're moving into a new world. lol
Great video Sam! One question about the bug service, are the chemicals they spray non-toxic to humans? Does it leave a smell inside after they do it? I might be looking into using those services but i'm very cautious about what chemicals are used. Thanks for all your help!
Yes they are non-toxic to humans inside and out. My wife is super cautious with this stuff too. No smell at all. They usually spread stuff in the yard too but we didn't have them do that because chickens are really sensitive to any chemicals and we don't want our chickens to die ha
A couple of points from this fifth generation local… To begin with, there is NOT a large portion of homes sitting vacated by snowbirds in most Tampa area neighborhoods. Outside of the heavy beach attraction and touristy parts, home ownership is mostly permanent residences. Also, while we do have bugs, they are NOT in every house. This guy moved into an old home that obviously did not have pest control prior to his buying it. Makes sense that the first time it was treated, the roaches came out to try to escape the poison before they died. Good pest control is not terribly expensive and as long as you maintain it regularly, any bug problem will soon become nonexistent. To represent his experience as the norm seems a bit insincere, assuming he’s been in other buildings in the area. I will agree though, that pest control is strongly recommended and many apartment and condo HOAs include it with the fees.
its funny seeing all the locals complain get used to it . Its a free country what is happening to your state has just happened to mine you can cry cry but it still will happen 😆😆💯💯💯💯
I lived in Tampa Florida 37 years until I moved to Plant City Florida and I like it and that guy talking about the the heat but he works inside all day I'll trade him jobs
Please stop moving here!!! Traffic is getting worse with more transplants/tourists, crippling aging roads/bridges and no mass transit system to handle the growth. The flooding and sinkholes will only get worse with all the new construction on swamp lands.
I moved here in October from NH and live in Hillsborough county. I worked remotely which is how I got down here. My expenses went up over 1k a month. My rent for a 1BR is around $2100 with electric - rent in NH in similar beach towns (Portsmouth,Dover) are the same price - even in the ghetto of Manchester NH rent is the same in a high rise condo. I’ve seen one roach which I got rid of, and I have a little gecko that lives in my screen porch and I can’t seem to find him to bring him outside but apparently he likes it there. I now do not work remotely and commute 20 mins to work every day. It’s not terrible, but the traffic definitely sucks. I couldn’t imagine driving any further for a job. I’m an RN and the pay is pretty bad down here for nurses, yet it’s pretty bad in NH too so it’s not that much of a difference. I like it here so far. The heat is an adjustment. My dog isn’t a fan and I know he is longing for NH hikes and mountains. He misses being off leash and being able to run in the pond. I take him to picnic island dog beach but have been avoiding it recently due to extreme heat and concern over bacteria because now he has these hot spots/ fungal issue which I have never had a problem with before. He hates the rain and has full blown anxiety over the storms. We went home for 4th of July and he didn’t make a peep when fireworks and guns were shooting off lol, I think he secretly wants to go home. I frequent St Pete often and wish I moved there first but it’s ok I am learning the area. I stay away from the beach on the weekends and go during the week and haven’t really had a parking issue (only time I have was on weekends and holidays) last night I swam in a little cove off St Pete beach with dolphins… can’t beat that! I’ll be looking to buy a home when my lease is up. It definitely cost me a lot moving here but I wouldn’t change a thing. It has taken me out of my small NH town and I have met so many incredible people here. It’s what you make of it! If I listened to videos and comments about “don’t come here” and all the awful reasons, I would have missed out on the best opportunity of my life! Oh, and I love that it’s a red state!
YES!A lot of the people in these comment sections are natives of Brandon,St.Pete and Tampa area.So you can’t get an unbiased opinion of Tampa because it’s good ole home to them.Half of them have NEVER been anywhere else.Maybe locally in other towns of Florida.Tampa is like a 2022 Nissan Altima.Pretty with all the bells and whistles but under the hood horribly made Transmission and a bunch of re-calls.I had my car serviced at the dealership for a few days.So i took public transportation and it was HORRIBLE.Filthiest busses, with carpet seats…felt like it was the 80’s! Everything is a commute‼️Driving miles after miles too get anywhere.Accidents EVERYDAY.So I started doing errands either by sun up or late in the evening. The only people that were friendly too me were upper class Caucasian people in St.Pete.And many of them were from small towns elsewhere. The ones in Hillsborough county called me a “Yankee” and consistently made snarl remakes disguised as a “joke” about the Northern states, our accents and sports teams. The repetitious “jokes” become tiresome. The jobs pay poorly.Aesthetically it was beautiful. But beyond the surface it’s like Miami full of sleazy strip clubs, flashy cars and overhyped dining spots.Full of lethargic people with superficial conversation.I left and really don’t miss it.There’s plenty of other nicer cities in the U.S.And I miss having seasons that change
LOCALS?!? There are so few locals you could go your whole life down here and not meet one. I'm not sure there is such a thing as a local in big Florida cities. They're not unicorns, but comments are one of the few places you'll find them!
@Living in Tampa FL Been in Hernando County since we moved here in 2002; I was 13 then and my brother was 4. New Port Richey seems nice and I've seen some decent houses under $100,000 (and they're not even mobile or manufactured homes). What's your opinion on New Port Richey. Awesome video, Sam! Love the angle. As someone who dreams about getting out of the Northeast... Tampa has always been a top 5 destination for my family. I'm deathly afraid of bugs. 🐜 🐛 🕷 So I might cross it off my list haha.
You just got to make sure that you have the right things to get rid of the bugs like Tabasco sauce in the corners. Great way to get rid of bugs and ants. Diatomaceous earth. Great way to get rid of bugs. The right kind of plants also get rid of bugs. I never see bugs in my place
I've lived in the same place for 14 years and I've seen one bug and it was dead. I'm sure Florida's not the only place with the bug lol And the video views were great. Thanks for the video of people. Decide not to move to Florida. We won't have to put up with so much traffic lol
I'm from Georgia everyone treats me great maybe they don't look at me s a transplant because I'm not far from Florida I love it here wouldn't go anywhere else
From someone who has lived in South Carolina, I don't consider Tampa, Florida outside of the panhandle Southern at all. As for locals, something I discovered when I moved here 40 years ago. Don't talk about being from somewhere else, and especially how better it was. That is inconsiderate and insensitive. Imagine someone from California moving to Oklahoma and telling Okies how California is so much better. Oklahoma is Southern.
You need to check your soffit and seals under you doors. You shouldn't have that many roaches. They can flatten out and squeeze under your front door if there's no seal.
My house was built in 1962 and there are plenty of places for them to get in. I have one old sliding door that is one of the issues. I don't want to replace that door because it has to be the highest level of hurricane glass if I replace it. Maybe it is worth a weekend of weather-sealing to see if it helps.
the best thing I did was move from this city nothing to do lily jobs, I live in Hallandale Beach Fl which is close to Miami and Hollywood Beach Fl the night life is great it's a lot of jobs that's available and paying good.
I won't see any bugs for months then suddenly someone comes to visit I'm suddenly getting cockroaches or ants in my house if we get a lot of rain I'll get cockroaches and ants in my house, you have to spray put down Borax put down bait traps put down roach motels you have to fight this constantly all year round

You are a realtor for the Tampa area and yet you are making a video telling people not to move here. That sounds like a bad idea on your part. I moved here from Long Island NY 8 yrs. ago and I LOVE it. I live in St. Petersburg about 3 to 5 min from downtown St. Pete and the new pier. There is so much to do here, I would never be a realtor for an area and tell people not to move here. You aren't going to generate a lot of business for yourself making videos like this. You should be boosting the area and telling people all about the many restaurants and night life. How much there is to do all winter long. Yes, the summers are hot and humid but they beat the long long icy cold winters of up north.
Hello; For roaches try "Combat Gel". Your anxiety about bugs, was Hysterical 😊(I bought it from Amazon), and within 3 days I saw no more " guys". And it lasts for months. I haven't seen any roaches or Palmetto bugs in my garage or house. My home is new and I don't open windows till October or November. I close the garage door quickly and don't linger with my front door open. I get tiny bugs once in a while. In an old house you may have nests in the wall. Combats work! I may leave anyway as it's lonely here and wherever you go or visit you have to drive 30 min to 1 hour. Hard to find certain products. Love my townhome though and my garage.

Yes cockroaches even in million dollar homes here.South Tampa reminds of Charleston S.C and to lesser extent Savannah Georgia.South Tampa for the most part is old money and if you dine in that part of town you will defiantly be asked if you live there. With that said I have found the people to be very nice and classy. The suburbs are more integrated and the people find a way to get along just fine. This is still the old south in many ways.Plant city is just outside of Tampa and the accents there are as thick as any southern draw I have encountered in Georgia, the Carolinas or Tennessee.

Is Tampa southern? Overall I'd say, yes. I'd say Florida can be divided into 3. There is the "Deep South" northern 1/2. Some argue this continues down the interior. There is the much more "northern" Central quarter where most of the best peninsular beaches are. This is basically I-4 (Tampa - Daytona Beach) all the way to Key West on the Gulf side. Then there is #SoFlo (Miami - Vero Beach) , which is basically Latin America and the Caribbean meets NYCs 6th borough in a south - north corridor. The "south" ends very abruptly on the east coast after Cape Canaveral. I'd also like to add that through out the interior of Central and Southern Florida, you will find the Lake Placids, Clewistons and Belle Glades that are basically a tropical Alabama/south Georgia. The Tampa Bay area is like their meeting points, so it confuses those from the "Other Floridas"

Moving to Tampa in December 2022 when my lease is up in Nashville. Visited Hudson last week and love the cheaper homes there! (Local Returning Home after 25 years.)
25 years is a long time! Tyler, who is a part of our team, bought a place up in Hudson this past September and loves it. If you have any questions as you prepare for the transition, we would be happy to process them with you.
If you move to the area with a 200k yr job from up north the job salary equivalent is 80k here.
if you work remotely you keep the same salary thats why every is flooding to cheaper states in the first place
Guess what, this is AMERICA baby. Capitalism and the markets will dictate it all woooooooooooooooo. BTW i'll be moving there soon =)
@@leonwizard5 Out of pure curiosity, What area? Even the Hood is expensive nowadays! JS. Just a some advice, NEVER, EVER GO by the picture they show & Always drive by late night! I'm not even kidding
Rent in Tampa has basically tripled since the pandemic.
Tampa is very crowded, traffic is out of control. Jobs don't pay much to keep up with inflation and cost of rent.
Totally agree! Every area has its cons

In Dunedin
Thanks for watching! I couldn't agree more, everywhere has its cons.
Yes grew up going to Clearwater beach and it was so much fun. Tried to go last year and it was a disaster
Clearwater has never been a nice family beach. It’s always been a tourist trap just goes to show you’re not from Florida and you don’t know where the real beaches are most Yankees don’t we keep it secret
Lived in FL 16 yrs and hated it.

Anybody who saw this three months ago and decided to move there anyway is regretting it now
They all flocked back up north now! 😂
I love tampa Bay Area , good for business , weather at the beach is awesome ! Bugs are manageable ( buy mesh doors etc , ) I really hope there is more housing inventory to buy more
Thanks 👍
I was born and raised in Tampa . I love Tampa it's my home. However living there was really hard the jobs don't pay to match the growing cost of living. 2000 a month for a apartment and the job only pays 40k is absolutely unreasonable. Paying that for a mortgage is different depending on the size and location. I make 80k and I'm single and I still refuse to pay that to live. If you can help me find a home in a decent area I would like to get your help.

Shhhh 😉
Can I bribe ya for that small town?
Candy ass reasons not to move there it's great there can't wait to move back
Thats the point.
Crank the air. Keep the house at 62 deg all times. As low as you can go lol. Instant diff with bugs. Why you think the major stores are so cold
You forgot to mention the horrendous medical system here and the insane way that people drive

Ya, weekends can definitely be a little hectic!
No its not really hot anymore. I get listings all the time and I see prices are going down, not up. Also listing are sitting for much longer than they were a month or two ago. And I'm seeing much more inventory in south Tampa than there was a month ago. There is a definite shift going on. I watch the market very closely.
You are wrong. Prices are still much higher than last year. Please don’t spew nonsense when you have no clue.
I’ve been here for 6yrs

The locals can have this sorry city. I moved from Minneapolis and this move was a major downgrade. Many cons, very little pros. As far as "locals", there aren't many, most people I've meet aren't from here. This city doesn't have much to offer.
Please leave, it’s too crowded anyhow. Nobody is forcing you to be here.
You act like Florida is doing me a favor. Can't you read? I said once I'm done doing what I came to do, I'll gladly leave this place.
Omg we had the same issues. Bugs are so bad. Especially the flying coach 🪳. And the snowbirds at lease where we live haven’t went home. It’s crowded 24/7.

Tampa is expensive... don't do it.
I haven’t lol. If I don’t have bug spray, I’ll have to try it!
I'm from South FL so the bugs and heat here are nothing. I ride my bicycle for hours in the middle of Summer, and I wear sweat pants and hoodie to the beach when it's 60 degrees and sunny..... so I guess you get used to the heat.
I feel your pain. Moved to Tampa from suburbs of Philly.
It’s not bad. Tampa like any other place has it pros and cons. It’s a big culture shock coming from so far away. Me personally I like Philly better as a city. But Tampa/St.Pete is nice, and I think is better suited for kids. Philly crime rate is outta hand. Lot of different factors

Thank you for the informational and thoughtful response!
its funny seeing all the locals complain get used to it . Its a free country what is happening to your state has just happened to mine you can cry cry but it still will happen 😆😆💯💯💯💯

And true Floridians have great hospitality. We are southern people. We know how to show you a good time
And your video just keeps everybody from moving here. Hopefully well so we don't have to share all of our great weather and our great way of living
Bluff Florida. Love the Tampa Pasco area tarpon Pinellas Love living here. Couldn't live anywhere else
I never saw any Southern Hospitality in the 16 years I lived in Florida they have more Southern Hospitality in the Carolinas. I found the people in the Clearwater Palm Harbor Florida area very nasty very uppity driving like maniacs on US Highway 19 screaming stuff at you out the window. Horror show
@@mazie7952 I've never experienced anything bad. I always have a positive attitude no matter where I go so I guess I always expect the best. Life is great in Florida. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else except the East Coast cuz they have waves Cocoa Beach. Sebastian
Hello;
For roaches try "Combat Gel". Your anxiety about bugs, was Hysterical 😊(I bought it from Amazon), and within 3 days I saw no more " guys". And it lasts for months. I would be looking for a farm, 3 acres for at last 5 chickens🐓🐓🐔🐕🐕 and 2 dogs. Yes. the Confederate flag would bother me as I would think good ol' boys would be looking to call me the "N" word. Although I'm a Sephardic,( Spanish jew.) What about renting a farm house. What about 55÷ houses? Being a New Yorker. I love privacy, so, I wouldn't want, people at my door borrowing sugar. The slower life is what I'm looking for. And rain shower every day would be great. I used to be a jazz 🎷🎶🎤singer so a club or 2 would be neat.
Ok all the best Shaun of NYC
It's roaches everywhere, all over the u.s
Well Inhave been living in the Carrollwood Norrhdale Lutz Area for the last 15 years and all I can say is that I love it. I love Tampa . I have been visiting and traveling for NY, Las Vegas, Austin TX, and it’s not as pretty as Tampa is. I totally disagree with this video. In fact I haven’t found a place better to live than Tampa …
I have lived in Florida since 1970, and Tampa area since 1974. It was nice then. I would not move here now. Georgia or Carolinas would be a much better choice.
Thanks for watching! What area of Tampa are you in?
@@LivinginTampa Riverview, very close to Ybor and Downtown Tampa.
Why is it lonely? Are you there alone?
@@AG-xt6ei live alone and that's great. I have family here and a few friends but not like being back home. Lifestyle is different.
@@nysavvy9241 how old are you and which part of Tampa are you in? Also where are you from? Im 40 yrs old and giving Tampa a thought, but scared of what you are experiencing now.
Florida is so cheap compared to Cali
Trying to move my family there
How bout being a Lyft driver there?
I know a lot of people do it. Where are you coming from? I would look for Facebook groups and local Lyft drivers to find out average monthly revenue they are generating.
always learn something from your video. thanks!
I'm so glad they have been helpful! If you have any questions or information you would like us to include in future videos, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Do not move To Riverview Florida it’s overcrowded and way over priced
Get that southern drawl down even in ya gotta hire a tutor.
Love your videos. I think you are very honest and up front with people. I would recommend people to you do to what I have seen in your videos. Awesome reviews!
Do they still have the flag flying? I haven't seen it for awhile
I have actually seen it recently. There was a stretch where they kept it down because of some threats.
Yes. The group is actually an organization representing veterans .They fly many American flags from that location not just the southern flag. Its not the actual confederate flag but looks very similar.
I am born and raised in Tampa. You are exaggerating about everyone having roaches! Here's my advice please go back where you came from don't complain about Tampa and then live here. My apartment has zero bugs so maybe you need to clean your house I don't know but your judgment is ridiculous. You're claiming not to move to Tampa but yet here you are and then I see in the comments others are moving here too. Yes it's true we don't like Tourists we recognize your immediately at the beach because you will go to the beach basically in a suit and 100° weather with no color to your skin LOL. Here's my advice welcome to Tampa now go back where you came from
Thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone
Yea this cat seems like a lil brat

I can help you pest proof the house there are areas they enter pest proof house and dust attic every six months seal the pipes that come thru wall in kitchen bath room and under dish washer these are american roaches who live in palm trees come to light any other questions ask
If you sweat a lot I herad about botox in the arm pits...
Yup! As an Esthetician of 18 years, I can confirm this is true. It paralyzes the sweat gland in the inserted sites.
@@VivianWynter Then you will become a pig. Pigs don't sweat. No thanks!
Good info!!
Thank you for taking the time to watch! What stood out to you the most? Any other information you think we should include in future videos?
I'm debating between Tampa and Dallas.
This seems to be a very common debate. What are the pros and cons you see to each?
@@LivinginTampa The issue I have is that Dallas seems more affordable yet I'm a beach person lol.
Didn’t work, bro. See you soon! 🤗
😂 Love it
Tampa Florida is my hometown
Yeah I would move to Tampa either, I would move to Pinellas county lock closer to the beaches 😝
Lol, I agree. Pinellas county is a great spot within the Tampa metro.
Great advice!!
So glad it was helpful information!
Hillsborough & Palm Beach Counties = the new NY/NJ/PA

Tampa has turned into little miami..... very expensive
