Yes, this is when Alyson and Alexis met, however, the story goes that they didn't start dating right away. I believe at first Alexis was reluctant to date a co-worker, then later Alyson was seeing someone else. I recall seeing a tweet recently (maybe a few months ago) where Alyson teased Tony Head (Giles) for advising against them (Alyson and Alexis) eventually getting together - either because of their professional relationship or the friendship, and she made a joke along the lines that she was glad she didn't listen to him.
"No. You don't get it. I don't care." And, in that moment, shit changed. A reason this series continues to be amazing. The unexpected continues to happen.
I love that you catch so fast the paralelism between Buffy becoming wild here and wheb she died last time. Also, you have to add that she have just lost her father figures (both Giles and her own father), and lost all trust in the Council, so in a way, she feels alone like Faith.
I think the most important question about the Mayor's to do list is, will his invincibility allow his hair to be cut? This could truly be a tragic scheduling mishap.
When Buffy thought she killed a human in episode "Ted", she took full responsibility for it. Yeah, Ted was a robot, but Buffy didn't know that and really believed she killed her mom's boyfriend. Contrast that with Faith, who is taking no responsibility for killing a human.
Harry Groener is amazing as Mayor Wilkins; he totally brings off the unusual character dynamic of "golly gee" earnestness combined with incandescent evil. Last year he appeared in the horror mockumentary "A Place Among the Dead", which was directed by Juliet Landau (Drusilla). ua-cam.com/video/2hUPN6BANtU/v-deo.html
I love the Mayor and yes that's who Balthazar was talking about. But no, it's not explained why he was calling the Temp Agency, but in his position I'm sure that comes up a lot. He doesn't know Allan is gone yet though (he's surprised he's not there) so that's not what it was about.
can't believe you've made it this far already I'm so glad you're enjoying this series it will always be a favourite of mine even the bad episodes. I think my fav part in this episode after re watching it is when Angel comes into the fight at the end and says his name is Angel lol. Also ofcourse love any episodes with Faith in it by the way love the red lipstick I can't pull off red lipstick I should really try it
I like the Mayor, aside from being soulless and evil he's a decent man, takes his job seriously and is civic-minded other than letting demons overrun the town. The season is heating up, you could go to 2 episodes a week and I'm sure nobody would complain. I love your reactions.
Yes this was where Alyson and Alexis met. At one point Faith was going to kill herself, Buffy went to Faiths room and found she'd hung herself but I don't know how far they got with that idea though.
(putting a spoiler warning just in case) Wow, that's dark. I've never heard anything about this alternative story line, where do you get that information from?
Omg!!!! When u said that's Alison's husband I didn't believe u!?!? I had to google it and found out it's true!!!! I'm a MASSIVE Buffy fan and I had no idea!!! WOW!!!! Guess u learn something new every day! Lol :-D thanks XxXxX
I can't tell if it's embarrassing or insulting that Wesley immediately narced after just being threatened, after we've seen Giles suffer hours long torture and not break
I'm curious how many people "used to be bad" but someone gave you a chance, and now "you are good". So, now you are really really wanting to save faith? Art imitates life or so we hope?
the mayor wasn't already trying to replace the guy. Idk why or remember why that Agency was there on his list of things to do. might've just been one of the "pointless" normal things on his list along with getting a haircut. in that moment when you commented on it, the Mayor turned to the vampire Mr. Trick and questioned his assistant's whereabouts, stating that he's usually so punctual. so the Mayor was actually possibly a little worried about him not showing up. he was suppose to be there.
They used the Faith & Buffy dancing scene from this episode and animated it shot for shot into the X-Man Evolution Kitty & Rouge dancing scene. You can see it here starting at 0:47: ua-cam.com/video/-I91WdByP_U/v-deo.html
Have you ever considered reacting to SANTA CLARITA DIET?? It's such an amazing underrated hilarious show, would love to see your reaction to it, also Wrecked & The detour are amazing as well :)
I used to have to skip Balthazar's scenes bc he grossed me out so much. (I've always been fat so I think it was self hatred). Anyway, welcome to Faith's arc! It's a wild ride.
omg I've been a Buffy fan for 20 years and I had no idea Alyson and Alexis (Willow and Wesley) are married in real life since I don't follow actors personal stuff! OMG mind blown!
Yep Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof met at the Buffy set:) From now on I really believe you are oracle :D:D you say the quote and they say same quote :D I'm just joking, but reall wow. Is it a bird, is it a plane no no it is... your reactions are amazing :) this episode was too dark. Faith and Buffy go wild making crime and than Faith kills a man. rough stuation.
I enjoy this episode, but I was never a fan of the fact that until said episode Faith and The Mayor were more back burner stories. Story-wise I get it, but the _Becoming_ cleanup arc as I call the first half of the season could be tedious to me. Sorry if others don't find it that way. This is just me and the reason why S3 isn't high on my favorites list despite my love for Faith and The Mayor or perhaps because of my love for them who are back burner-ed before this episode story-wise.
For some reason, Buffy's, "he always says please. And afterwards I get a cookie" line always kills me! I think it's SMG's delivery.

I love the Mayor's to-do list. Always makes me laugh.
Seemed kind of late for the PTA meeting to not have even started yet.
@@hardybryan
maybe he's just preparing for it and the actual meeting is tomorrow.
I love your take on faith's reaction to killing that guym This season is really strong. And Faith is an amazing character

Red lips are so fun!! You should defo give it a shot. I’m sure you’d look amazing!!
Alison Hannigan was nearly 25 here and Alexis Denisof (Wesley) was nearly 33.
Not a big age difference, once people are that age (i.e. no one is underage).
and now they are married
@@frakkintoasterluvva7920more importantly, mental maturity is guaranteed complete by 25
7:07 Come on now, clearly Faith fell in love with Buffy _long_ before that moment.
My mistake haha

You’re in luck because that is what’s gonna be happening once I start Angel :)
Seth Green, "Oz", was also filming the 90s teen comedy Can't Hardly Wait. In it, Seth has dark hair. "The more you know" 😉 ❤️

@@AWinterLullaby I heard about it years ago but can't remember where I'm guessing the idea got shot down in the writers room.
@@Chuthulhu123 it probably got shot down by the network. Just like how dark Angel's show was supposed to be got shot down.
Faith and Buffy are so cute this episode!! Poor Faith tho
"Look at the gash on her arm" - oh come on, Wesley's not *that* bad...
OMG that's SAVAGE!!!

I'd like to point out at this point we barely know Faith.
We stan Giles in this house!
There was a bit of an age gap between Alyson and Alexis Denisof, he was 33 and she was 25 if I am not mistaken, so not as young as she looked then
Lexi, I envy you, you have just embarked on a wonderful journey ❤️
I love to watch reactors denial when Faith says she doesn’t care
Eliza purposely played Faith as having a crush on Buffy.
Despite Joss being too blind to see the potential. He said he went back to rewatch it and noticed their chemistry
I can't tell if it's embarrassing or insulting that Wesley immediately narced after just being threatened, after we've seen Giles suffer hours long torture and not break
I don't know, Wesley might surprise you...
The season is heating up, so to speak. And I love how committed you are to shipping Fuffy, it's great!

The Mayor: just because you're evil, doesn't mean you shouldn't observe the social niceties! Also, make sure to clean under your fingernails...
omg I've been a Buffy fan for 20 years and I had no idea Alyson and Alexis (Willow and Wesley) are married in real life since I don't follow actors personal stuff! OMG mind blown!
They stole the design of Balthazar from the big fat vampire Pearl in the first Blade movie.
What is cool song that plays when Buffy and Faith break into the store?
Does Balthazar remind anyone else of Pearl from Blade (only slightly more competent)?
sacrificing babies to a demon can be seen as a pretty bad thing
