"Tu es Petra" gefällt mir sehr gut!
Hier wird dieses Stück nämlich nicht so schein-virituos in Höchstgeschwindigkeit heruntergenudelt (Zitat von Charles Marie Widor: "Diese hirnlosen Tastenbeweger, diese seelenlosen Schnellspieler!"), sondern so gespielt, daß man Strukturen auch wirklich erkennen kann!
Und das Instrument ist wirklich Weltklasse!
Ich bin vollkommen einverstanden.

On a note other than multiple discussions of tempo (sheez), what is the picture between 0:40 and 1:19? Is this how Sacré Coeur was constructed?

@@ermenegildoguerra No, but in reading a little about the castle I discovered there was an organ there. I would be grated for the history of the instrument. Is there a web site you would suggest where I could find this information?

Non, on voit que vous n'avez jamais joué au Sacré Coeur de Montmartre. Jouer plus vite rend l'oeuvre complètement inaudible dans le sanctuaire, tellement l'écho est long.
Prise de son NULLISSIME. On n'entend RIEN ! A mettre aux ch**ttes.
Allez écouter l'orgue sur place et vous comprendrez un peu mieux le problème.
@@FlorentPaoli I stand corrected, comme disent les rosbifs ! La 1° fois que j'ai écouté (au casque), j'avais des distorsions, des craquements, et ttes sortes d'autres parasites. Et puis à la réécoute d'autres docs déjà écoutés sans problème, j'ai eu la même chose. J'en ai conclu que pour des raisons que je n'ai pas pu déterminer, il y a sporadiquement qq ch qui "beugue" qq part.
Je viens de réécouter ce doc : aucun parasite. Alors oui, le son est lointain, mais je suis bien d'accord qu'enregistrer dans un vaisseau comme le Sacré-Coeur et les questions d'acoustique qu'il pose, c'est tout sauf simple. Cet enregistrement donne une idée de ce qu'est l'instrument, mais il faut bien sûr l'entendre in situ pour savoir ce que c'est - comme tous les orgues. Tel qu'il est, ça vaut le coup, no doubt.
Alors j'irais bien, mais c'est à 600 km de chez moi ...! 😒 Un jour, peut-être ... 👏

@@najihakim55 I am all for moderation in tempi where required. This, however, is slower than continental drift.
A faster tempo wouldn't be feasible on Sacré-Coeur Cavaillé-Coll Barker tracker and would likely ruin the 3 last pages of Mulet's masterpiece.
@@najihakim55 nonsense, many other performances have been recorded on B-L C-Cs at considerably faster tempi in similarly reverberant acoustics. This is a half-speed first run-through.
@@richardharrold9736 Why should it be a nonsense? I believe it is a speed that enhances the piece, the instrument and the acoustics of the church. The "school of velocity" is really nonsense on the pipe organ, which is an orchestra of complex sounds. This piece, like Widor's Toccata and many others, is always abused at absurd speeds by "all muscles and no brains". Instead here we're talking about a musician who knows what velocity is and uses it intelligently.
