@@parakeetparakoot The Rebel Wilson outer fur is like some secret identity thing -- like when superheroes wear regular street clothes on top of their superhero uniforms. But because a normal cat usually wears nothing her disguise would be a fur coat looking like her natural hair, of course. It's some spy drama cloak and dagger maneuver. Is that so hard to understand? Like when somebody peels off a lifelike mask in Mission Impossible to reveal they were someone completely different underneath. You wouldn't go, "ew, he just peeled his skin off and he has more skin on underneath!" No, it's clear the mask was just a mask.
@@KenickieXRizzoFan the poem says, “you would think there was nobody shyer” followed by, “but his voice can be heard on the roof”. Think, implying he is not actually shy. spikesenglishrose It’s Old Deuteronomy. 😊 One of the characters (Mungojerrie? I don’t remember now) called her “Deut”, which is lovely considering this is how fans of the musical call the cat for short. 😊
If you liked this, the stage version is MUCH better. The performer who sings it is phenomenal and they have verses and a killer dance number done by misto.
I find it really frustrating that they didn't include any version of the conjuring turn, but still had Munkustrap reference it. Since Cats is a usually a live show, no performance or cast is the same, but Mistoffelees is always a role which is mainly dance-based, and he always has an absolutely breathtaking conjuring turn. It shows an inability in either the director or actor. Either the director was so stupid that he didn't realize what a staple the turn is, or yet another actor was incapable of preforming dance in a hollywood version of a *musical.* Most of the actors simply didn't have the experience or skillet to be in a musical, but were cast due to their influence.
Laurie Davidson was the star of Will on TNT which was my favorite show when it aired in 2017... for obvious reasons I did not recognize him immediately 😂I hope the failure of this film doesn't harm the projection of his career, he was really just getting started!!
This is actually a very good movie,I am ironically obsessed with this worst movie hahaha,am I the only one that feels this way? This scene and Skimbleshanks scene are the best in this movie. The actor that played Mr Mistoffelees really nailed it and the part where Victoria sings to support him was just wonderful.

How did they manage to turn one of the biggest show stoppers where the big show-off cat bigs up his magical bff/friendly rival/boyfriend into... this? Seriously, I haven't watched Cats since I was 8 but I still remember liking THIS song the best because Misto was doing all sorts on stage, like a real magic show.
Mr Mistoffelees is really romantic and cute when he’s around Victoria🥰😻 And that part for when Victoria kept believing in him was really compassionate But I think it would have been better if they kissed
Well, they are cats, and cats don't really kiss. They just sorta affectionately head nuzzle. You gotta remember that the entire cast literally went to cat school.
@@lilygrace3616 Instead of kissing, cats give eachother a lick on the cheek/nose. Nuzzling their heads is a friendly way of greeting and/or other things. It'd of been better if they gave eachother a short lick on the cheek or nose as it'd be really cute.
@@suffocateanddie3730, I think it's better that they just nuzzle, because seeing them lick each other is really disturbing for a Cat with human face. Haha!
As Queen Clarisse once said....."A QUEEN is never late. Everyone else is simply....early. I'm glad Mr. Mistoffelees got his magical mojo back though. :) You can feel the hope being restored as they sing.
Out of all the nightmare fuel that this movie brings, I find Mr. Mistoffelees pretty adorable and well designed (maybe because he's wearing clothes). The acting's pretty nice too.
Imagine if he first unintentionally return Gus, and then find out that Old D. is on the plank right now, and with helping from Gus singing along with others, he finally returns Deuteronomy. Because he said earlier in the film that he is a big fan of Gus.
It COULD have been if Tugger sang it like he was supposed to and they didn't keep interrupting the song. Plus there are no verses which makes this weird too lol
It starts and stops like 50 times for no reason, totally ruining the song. This song is a bop and in the 1998 version it’s great. In this, it’s boring and flat.
I think they’re trying to say that the movie by itself was good. When I first saw the 2019 version, I had no clue there was a 1998 version and when I listened to the original, it was definitely better cause it’s the original. If you just look at this movie as it’s own, it’s honestly good. I loved it.

I liked that they give him a development, he was like super shy and insecure and then he feels the trust of everybody and start to believe in himself. That was nice.
That's what happens when you try to force a plot in a story that is specifically designed not to have a plot.
@@CaltosVirnam
you do know this video doesn't hold the whole song, don't you?
the song is basically them repeating the same passage 14 times, yes I counted
I enjoyed the actor. He really did a fine job. Not a fan of them ripping him of his confidence, but he played it very well. Great acting. But this song was a true Bop in the play. The film had so many disruptions to the song my foot got frustrated trying to tap.
If jury dench is wearing a fur coat, what’s the fur made out of, this and the cgi are legitimately creeping out right now
46th king panda it’s all CGI
It isn’t cgi it’s the character design
Probably some other animal's. We wear cow's hides, after all. Cats are predators, like us.
I think the CGI was a bit rushed.
I. Feel. Incredibly. Uncomfortable!
That’s the most weaksauce Mistoffelees I’ve ever seen.
He is closer to how he was written in the poem then any other adaption. He's supposed to be super shy and aloof.
@@KenickieXRizzoFan the poem says, “you would think there was nobody shyer” followed by, “but his voice can be heard on the roof”. Think, implying he is not actually shy. In the original poem, he appeared shy because he was quiet and kept to himself, but he was actually a mad magical genius. One who was CONFIDENT. Aloof implies a coolness under pressure and holding oneself with dignity, head held high. So no, this version is not like the poem. This version is a nervous wreck that is a complete misinterpretation of his character because someone saw the word shy in his bio and said, “All right, that’s his character!”
2:27 The hat teleports on top of his head
BlueGirl1997 truly magical
This movie legitimately made me get hives and my throat swell up. I’m not allergic to cats, just this movie
the one (1) good thing about misto in this movie compared to other versions of cats is that they give him a hat. everything else can flip right off.
Gosh the orginal movie (the Broadway version) was amazing! Now we have this...
*EVEN MORE AMAZING, RIGHT?!* 😻😻😻
I just watched the Broadway version a few weeks ago, I absolutely loved it! I wish I could see it live
@@pazuzu126 I wish I could see it with this particular cast, then my life would be complete haha

We all are.
TJc Helper watch it then, cause you can’t judge the movie or the cast by like what, 3 or 4 mins of the movie, it’s two hours long like no thanks
Bruh this is the worst movie I've seen in 2019-20.
Just imagine them without fur
I liked it when Judy Dench reappeared and sings the chorus, but why isn't Tugger the one dancing with Misto and singuing how amazing he is? Did they need to make it straight? Why?
1:06
I was hoping for Rum Tum Tugger to sing and encourage him but no, you just have to make this musical worst.
I thought this was adorable af , shoot me.
Jake indalake I thought it was too
Same here
Same
Jake indalake me too
This is why we don't take drugs children
I don’t know who played this cat but he actually looks good and cute
Laurie Davidson
Chloe Burrescia thank you!
Only because he has make up and cat ears and a tail on he looks so different without all that
WTF!!!! This one was one of my favorite numbers of the musical. Mr Mistoffelees was powerful and cool, not just some insecure cat... furry... or whatever this is.
The original broadway of cats Mr. Mistoffelees: Look I can shoot lighting out of my paws!! OwO look at me using MaGiC!! Owo LOOK AT ME BRINGING BACK OUR HEAD CAT OUT OF NOWHERE WITH EASE!! OWO!!!
Cats (2019) Mr Mistoffelees: ToT I'm baby. I can't do magic owo I am scawed o,w,o
Stage Misto: 🤩
Movie Misto:🥺
Say what you will about but mr misstoffee’s face when he hears dute is adorable. It’s like “oh my gosh I saved mum. (Plus I nicknamed this version of dute mum cat because I kinda forgot her name and she is pretty much their mum, l also nicknamed musical dute dad cat for the same reasons).
spikesenglishrose It’s Old Deuteronomy. 😊 One of the characters (Mungojerrie? I don’t remember now) called her “Deut”, which is lovely considering this is how fans of the musical call the cat for short. 😊
I had no issue with mistoffelees x Victoria or mistoffelees x tugger
The issue i had was why is he an uwu shy boy
No joke, I absolutely love this scene. It gave me chills when I saw this movie in theatre (yeah I know, it’s weird 😂).
It would be better if the characters didn’t look so ugly.
They killed the original song tho
They just repeat the chorus over and over again and somehow managed to take the magic out of it
A mi también me encantó, tiene cierto encanto 🖤🖤🖤🖤
If you liked this, the stage version is MUCH better. The performer who sings it is phenomenal and they have verses and a killer dance number done by misto.
well now watch the 1998 musical film pls, get chills all over again
I love Mr Mistoffelees, he is so cute and nervous.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Don't hate me if u feel otherwise.
@Anna Magni I'm not sure about the musical version cuz I have never seen it before.
@Anna Magni Sure,why not.Thanks 4 the recommendation.I will surely enjoy myself.
@Anna Magni Thanks, actually do u have any website u can recommend for me to search
@Anna Magni Thank you very much 😊😊😀😀
I like him too, he's cute and he gets nervous to perform like me
What did you do to one of my favorite songs, Tom Hooper?! This was one of my audition songs many moons ago ugh
*pulls up*
Get in, we're going to Tom Hooper's house to murder him
Arroz con Leche i call shotgun
I love it too and I was totally not expecting to... like I know it’s super weird and kind of ugly but I love it anyway?? All the actors and dancers did a fantastic job. So happy for my boy Mistoffelees in this scene 🥰
Your not the only one I love this movie and the musical I thought it was cute I can relate more to mistoffelees my confidence isn't the greatest eather sometimes you need support from family and friends to help you succeed
I love the storyline with Victoria and Mr. Mistoffelees.
~ the magical mr mistoffelees ~
he is p r o u d ~ he is g a y ~ he is h e r e f o r i t
now... grrr...
He’s not
Can’t believe they freaking straightwashed him!
It was adorable but still want tugger to sing this part:/
Let’s all admit that mr. mistofellees is so cute and adorable he was my favorite cat as well as grizabella 🥺🥺🥺
Hes my fav too! Hes adorable!
My fav to!
He is so cute. You can tell how cute this guy is even through the weird uncanny valley cat fur so it’s a shame they did him so dirty with this terribly arranged and directed song.
They really No-Homo'd Mr. Mistoffelees i am devastated
I still find it weird he and Victoria are semi romantically involved seeing as in the musical and original book Victoria was his younger sister
This isn't how i remember it lol. What happened to Rum Tum Tugger?
Yeah! And what happened to the rest of the lyrics?
They made this scene boring and straightTM
How did they manage to turn one of the biggest show stoppers where the big show-off cat bigs up his magical bff/friendly rival/boyfriend into... this? Seriously, I haven't watched Cats since I was 8 but I still remember liking THIS song the best because Misto was doing all sorts on stage, like a real magic show.
Mr Mistoffelees is really romantic and cute when he’s around Victoria🥰😻
And that part for when Victoria kept believing in him was really compassionate
But I think it would have been better if they kissed
Well, they are cats, and cats don't really kiss. They just sorta affectionately head nuzzle. You gotta remember that the entire cast literally went to cat school.
*Cat's don't kiss!* They rub faces just like you see them do in the movie.
Although they could have licked each others faces... 🤔
Cats don’t kiss, they nuzzle their heads, but Mr. Mistofelees and Victoria did nuzzle their heads, so I think we can count that as kissing
This movie is so Bad, but so good too...
its weird sure, but thats part of its charm
Yoda -Se I agree.
I fully believe this will be a midnight movie ten years down the road. It will be celebrated on the merit of its awfulness
True 😂🤣
@@KevinMuller5 Its gonna be the new version of The Room.
Out of all the nightmare fuel that this movie brings, I find Mr. Mistoffelees pretty adorable and well designed (maybe because he's wearing clothes). The acting's pretty nice too.
Ok this movie as a whole is something of a nightmare but I will admit him having a pencil as a lil wand is cute
Imagine if he first unintentionally return Gus, and then find out that Old D. is on the plank right now, and with helping from Gus singing along with others, he finally returns Deuteronomy. Because he said earlier in the film that he is a big fan of Gus.
Say what you will about the film, this scene was gold.
Agreed
No it wasn’t
It COULD have been if Tugger sang it like he was supposed to and they didn't keep interrupting the song. Plus there are no verses which makes this weird too lol
Agreed my mom my step dad and my self loved it
It starts and stops like 50 times for no reason, totally ruining the song. This song is a bop and in the 1998 version it’s great. In this, it’s boring and flat.
You cannot change my mind, this was actually a really good movie. Could have been better but the songs, choreography and stuff were brilliant
Have you seen the 1998 version? If so I've no idea how'd you'd say this is a good Cats movie...
I think they’re trying to say that the movie by itself was good. When I first saw the 2019 version, I had no clue there was a 1998 version and when I listened to the original, it was definitely better cause it’s the original. If you just look at this movie as it’s own, it’s honestly good. I loved it.
@@muhvaerakay I guess I don't have that frame of reference bc I saw the 1998 Cats multiple times before this one.
@@muhvaerakay Its fine if you liked this one, but for those of us who grew up with Cats (Both the 1998 version and the stage production), this movie is a travesty.
I think the same! It’s different from the original, but that, surprisingly, doesn’t make it worse
Considering the zeitgeist I was super surprised that they didn't take the underlying romance between Mistoffelees and Tugger and make it in-your-face loud in the movie.
I feel personally violated every time any of the cats rub noses
Ruined it.. absolutely ruined it.... Now where’s my musical Rum Tum Tugger at 😁
😂
I think Mr Mistoffelees and Victoria make a great couple
1:33-1:37 😍

Beautiful harmonies, but Jason Derulo's vocals are kind of distracting
When you realize that it’s Jason Derulo who’s singing the high pitched vibrato in the background :(
In book: All black
In musical: Black and white
In movie: Black white and grey
i can see why they wouldn't want the musical mistoffelees to be all black... especially his face...
I wish a cute cat girl would sing to me like that
The cats in this movie compared to the stage production are just plain ugly
🤮
I loved this film .. don’t care what everyone else thinks .
Im agree with, i love this movie, it was a beautiful experience... but people can’t see beyond the memes...
You love it just bcuz high profiled celebs got casted in this don't you
I really love it to! I tried watching the 1998 version a year ago before watching this at the theater and could not make it halfway though. Ik that its changed a bit from the musical but that happens. This isn't a remake, but more of an adaptation, like the 2014 Annie. It was based off the musical but was also different.
También me encanta, es una película adorable 🖤🖤🖤
yeah it doesn't seem that horrible, it actually looks kinda nice... until you watch the 1998 version and realize how lost u were
I think maybe the worst part is that when they're singing it seems like it's all in one continued breath. Like "ohwellneverwasthereeveracatsocleverasmagicalmrmistofelees" instead of taking a break and actually give it a beat
I believe the musical word you're looking for is staccato my friend. Not only are they not on beat and singing in one breath, they're not making their constants harsh or clear which ruins the chorus.
I haven't seen this yet and after listening to this song I never want to.the life has been sucked out that song
Guys you don't get it.
The movie was so horrifying that the rest of the lyrics ran off.
Broadway Tugger: probably bisexual. Shipped with Mr Mistoffelees.
Movie Tugger: definitely straight. Doesn't even starts Mr Mistoffelees song.
Wait, I wanted to see the 2019 Cats. This is very clearly an elementary school production of Cats with a budget of $17 and costumes sourced from the parents' wardrobes.
They made him anxious instead of aloof and I will not stand for it
Laurie Davidson is so cute, I can’t believe he’s in this movie
Never in my life have I wanted someone to kill off a character so bad.
I liked the movie, fight me
I liked it too 😺
Me too, I love it
i didn't mind it but it certainly isn't good
I liked their portrayal of mistofeles, macavity, and skimbleshanks but thats about it.
Imagine, acting in this movie, and you have to rub your neck against someone else's neck to act like a cat.
This is my favorite song from musical and they just looped the chorus 🤦♂️
