Hi Nicole, I'm a Chinese boy working holiday in Australia, undertaking farm jobs on various farms most of the time. I'm now working on an avocado and blueberry farm. Born into a farming place in central China and working on the farm, I know most of the knowledges about farming, plants and insects. But still I find it really relaxing to watch your episodes. I'm doing jobs like the workers in the fields in your videos, but when you walking, running, smiling and picking, it feels like you're working with me. Thanks for the great videos.

The corresponding Ji for my name is written 骥，literally means a prominent horse, but metaphors an outstanding person. Chinese like to name after horse, other examples like 骐Qi, 麟Lin,ect
@StellaR By keeping the wages down, you make it so that only desperate people want the shitty low paying job. So yeah "Stealing jobs" but more like servitude.

Americans are unappreciative but they are also ignorant especially leftists when it comes to immigration. Illegal migrants devalue what ever jobs they take. In the 1950s working as a butcher used to be a very good job. Now it’s not. Landscapers used to charge all jobs fairly. Now all the illegal migrants severely under charge their jobs and property owners only care about the lowest price rather than quality of work or years experience. That’s the issue with minimum wage. Too many illegal migrants came and took all the minimum wage jobs, the job devalues because of the excess supply and not enough demand lowers the wages. Too many minimum wage job seekers, not enough demand for job positions. Imagine there is a shortage of janitors. There isn’t enough applicants to take the janitor jobs. What employers would do then is make the job more attractive. Employers would increase the wage and provide benefits so someone could do the job. That’s how they job market goes. Less illegal migrants taking jobs, more benefits and increase wages for those job positions to a degree. So yes illegals are taking jobs. Illegals are making those jobs unattractive and worthless. I am saying this as someone who lives with and know lots of illegal migrants. I myself am a landscaper. I have a license in CA I also have degrees and certificates in agriculture, horticulture, landscape design, and business. It’s very difficult to compete with the mow and blow guy charging $10-$30 bucks for monthly service. Landscaping prices are all severely low. I am only in business because I adopted both quality of work and mow and blow strategies. I took a best of both worlds approach and that’s what keeps me in business. But I know other landscapers that only want to do quality work but are out of business because the can’t compete with the low prices. That is why we need strong immigration control. To control the inflow of unskilled workers so that the supply of unskilled workers meets the demand and wages can catch up.

Yes there is North America and Latin America, but it is all America.This division is indeed due to Europeans coming to colonize America. Latin America is Latin America because those countries speak Romance languages and those languages are spoken because of the European countries that colonized and brought their language. All Americans are descendants of indigenous people native of this land (North and South).
If you want to pay them more, why don't you buy a farm, grow cucumbers and hire all these illegals and pay them $50 dollars an hour. Hell, why don't you pay them $100 an hour, it's your farm, you can pay them whatever you want. For anyone who love to virtue-signal, as if you're such a good kind person, why don't you walk your talk and do something about it. Take action, instead of just empty talk. Full of complaints. Back in India (southern India) my grand parents used to say "we should always cut the ends first, if not it makes the entire cucumber bitter", i don't think they knew about the bitter chemicals were concentrated in those ends, but many time we didn't listen to their advice we ended up spitting out a bitter cucumber !! 😓

Awesome episode as always! My family in Germany grow cucumbers in their garden and quite often make cucumber salad, without any type of lettuce. The dressing or sauce is homemade and tastes like a family trade secret but maybe more common there than I think. I am growing some cucumbers in my garden here in the US and this episode has opened up my eyes on some key facts. Thank you as always for your channel's high quality content and positive production. It’s fascinating how different this is to how English, Seedless cucumbers are grown! 90% of the cucumbers I’ve eaten have been the seedless sort but it wasn’t until I came to university that I discovered how they’re grown to be seedless. Unlike the slicing cucumbers, these cucumbers are grown to actively avoid pollination. Because cucumbers are dioecious, only female plants are grown to maturity and if a Male is grown by mistake; it can make all of the cucumbers surrounding it turn bitter as the bitter compounds only form when the plant is pollenated. After the plant waits long enough for pollination and doesn’t get it, it produces the fruits from the female flower with unfertilised ‘seeds’ which are very small and insignificant. I personally prefer English cucumbers to slicing ones but I didn’t know how different the two were until I watched this video; having only been taught about English ones.

2-3 spicy red chilies 2 pieces of garlic Crush them together. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar 1 teaspoon of lime juice or vinegar or 2 spoons of sour tamarind juice. Add 1 teaspoon of salt or 1-2 big spoons of fish soy. Add 2 tomatoes cut into pieces. Mix all well. There you go! A yummy cucumber salad. 🥒😋🥗🤤😚😁🥗🥗🥗

This video reminds me of my childhood time when I lived in my grandparent place. Some farmers plant cucumber and I used to play around the trees. Very nice video thank you so much I got a lot of new information. One of them, I just realised that most of the farm workers in USA are from Latin America, I guess they are from Mexico, aren't they?

I really think cucumbers are addicting to eat . They are crunchy ,sometimes sweet you don't need any kind of salad dressing , and you can eat them when you're not hungry.

'Bitter-melon' -- here in India those are known as Bittergourd and yeah they are a staple diet among the southerners and it's not to be confused with courgette.

This video reminds me of my childhood time when I lived in my grandparent place. Some farmers plant cucumber and I used to play around the trees. Very nice video thank you so much I got a lot of new information. One of them, I just realised that most of the farm workers in USA are from Latin America, I guess they are from Mexico, aren't they?

I really think cucumbers are addicting to eat . They are crunchy ,sometimes sweet you don't need any kind of salad dressing , and you can eat them when you're not hungry.
