A friend years ago had the snowmobile engine powered version. Without brakes we had stand by each wing tip for engine start (hand prop) and run up. He always stayed within gliding distance of the field and said if you leaned forward or backward in the seat....the tiny thing would go up or down. Pretty squirrally I always thought!!! Took some courage to fly I think
This video footage was from at least 8 years ago but maybe even longer. It's sad that it didn't take off because it seems astounding. The actual CriCri aircraft was developed around 50 years ago in France. In 2010, an electric adaptation became the first ever electric aircraft to cross the English Channel. In the same year it also set a record for the fastest electric aircraft. It's hard to find a lot of info on even the aircraft let alone this Jet engine version. An aspiring French (or any national) filmmaker could make a really nice story here :)
I am 68 , i remember one the first flights of this jwell in july 1973 at Montargis airfield RSA meating , i was just 17 !!! , time is runing so fast ... The year i got my first solo on à jodeld112 , Michel Colomban the designer , made sevrals others jwells the MC 100 Banbi which was declined as MCR 01 plane and MCR UL ultra light carbon made , and finely the Luciole one seater ultra light : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colomban_MC-30_Luciole
There's no shortage of info on the plane outside of straight up plans for it. The engines are just RC turbine engines, they look very similar in size to the ones I have in my models, I would figure around 50 to 80 lbs of thrust each. In several other videos of these planes it looks like they've tried different brands of engines, I"m not sure about these blue ones, but there's a video with some gray ones which I believe may be AMT Turbines or Jetcat

That is so nice you should have a fleet of different aircraft I'd build a Lear and a Falcon 10 or 20, I wish I could be 20 years old again so I could have time to design and build different airframes, and I thought building and flying hang gliders was the in thing back in the 70's! Great aircraft my man !
If only those engines were good for more than 25 hours between service, this would be awesome. As it stands, I'd rather have a pair of axiro rotary motors with a combined 80 hp. Also, my favorite mini plane is the Davis DA-11.... but I also don't have a plane, and you guys do, so you've got that going for you.
I thought it sounded rather loud from the video of it taxiing. It is difficult for me to judge noise level based upon a video. I am sure it gets quieter the more one flies it.
The countryside looks remarkably like that near me. I live south of the City of Perth in Western Australia. Pleanty of emus round here but I have yet to see a condor! Great job guys!!
@@steelshotproductions I stayed in Copperas Cove once when I was visiting a friend who was stationed at Ft Hood. Serpentine is drier and flatter than Hill Country and there's emus and kangaroos instead of white-tails and turkeys. Instead of rattlesnakes, we've got tiger snakes. The humidity is lower here in WA, too - Except maybe this week.
The pilot speaking at the start of the clip is an Afrikaans speaking South African, although the airfield seems to have been positively identified as being in W. Australia.
Perhaps I'm mistaken but don't the flaperons usually go right to the tips? Are they shortened because of flutter or because of tip stall? I've seen a "normal" Cri-Cri doing a roll in France.
So the aircraft ego i VH-zse and thew initial call is to serpentine, a town in west Australia. aircraft is registered to a dutch man in australia. interesting
Hi really cool 😎 if the jets engines are omnidirectional you could takeoff 🛫 vertical & transition into fixed wing horizontal. Take care, good flight & God speed. 🍀
Merci pour ce moment de pur plaisir qu'est cette vidéo !!!
Beautifully flown and filmed!
Eeeei que bien!! Saludos desde la tierra de Gabilondo Soler Cri Cri México!

it is amazing how much noise those tiny engines make!
That is just a beautiful build! Thanks for the ride! Nothing equals the whine of a turbine!
What fun! Impressive accomplishment.
This is just wonderful. Thank you.

I like the music, and the plane! Congrats!!!!!!
agree! what is this music?
agree! what IS THE music?
Thanks for posting. Very stable cameras too! Looks like a 60 minute timer set to 25 minutes? Great idea!
You are living the dream, my friend
Super innovation 👍

this is not electric
@@NionXenion-gh7rf no shit nobody said this exact one was
@@NionXenion-gh7rf correct, it's the jet version.
Your ' flight suit ' is just precious
I'd rather be a CriCri than a Paraglider ....yes i would...if i only could! So....what is the fuel burn on that machine? It's cool!
Kerosene or jet fuel.

The kayak of the sky.
Excellent video! Aviation vids really don’t need music, however nice job.

Simon and Garfunķle and a plane to do the shopping !. More my friend. Thank/regards. Dave

Give some stats . . . airspeed, rate of climb, stall speed, fuel capacity, fuel consumption, thrust . . . thanks
Could this possibly be the smallest twin jet plane ever?
Already the smallest twin.
Just amazing...😊
Incredible airplane....thanks for the ride
Kyk hoe lekker vlieg die boere nou!
That looks like the most fun ever!!!
Wow! What a nifty little plane!
A neat fair weather commuter type aircraft. The small engines appear they would be ripped off the fuselage! I was surprised to see it
in flight!
It's a fantastic achievement... I used to see this aircraft a lot, when I flew out of Serpentine

The country side looks very similar to me as well, here in Central Texas known as the "Hill Country".

One of those jet engines would make an unbelievable leaf blower. 🤔
There's a UA-cam video for just that.

Very COoL. Boeing should consider these as an upgrade to their fleet! Oh Snap. Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd Casa On the Left.

What are your VNE speed and cruise speed VX &VY speeds. This is really neat
Nice video
How's your single engine performance?
pretty good I think given the recent video
I give him less than a year!
Ek moes 2 keer luister om seker te maak ek hoor reg. Prettige vliegtuig en mooi taal
Thanks, enjoyable video, sound not so bad, far better than the JE NE REGRET REIN one. Thanks again. Asi in mph or knots?
Hi do you still have the 10liter fuel capacity? What range are you getting?
Nice except the backround noise.
Very cool! Must be a joy to fly and no torque.
Мечты сбываюцца😜🤘🎸🌴
Have you had the courage to solve the lubrication and continuous service life issues of the vortex jet?
How creative.
Que rico debería ser volar un aparato de estos...

VH Aircraft Registration?? That's Australia ??
rather listen to the machine than really bad music
Clear prop!
Deadly in the inexperienced hands..
Every plane is deadly in inexperienced hands even the easiest , some killed themself flying Rallye .
Wondering what the cruise speed and range is.
Quelle est la vitesse de décrochage ?
Could this plane use larger jets and handle more speed? Power?
What is the range & fuel burn rate?
I'm a glider pilot and that would be awesome to have pop out of the glider to get you to altitude

So... do I get to log twin turbine time on it?

Range?
I want to see you land at LAX during December
The video started off so cool… until the music started… why?
How many gallons per hour?
What speeds
So fun!
What’s the range?

Where did you find that music, on Mike Tyson’s Punchout?

10 minute flight time?
Oui, on aimerait bien connaitre l'autonomie de cette version à réaction. (À priori, elle ne doit pas être terrible).
