I've got D'addario Helicore strings on the Gliga III. Our Gliga III also has a new soundpost and higher quality bridge which make a huge difference to the sound. The Gliga III's come standard with Jargar strings, so its likely the other parts on your cello haven't been upgraded either. Good luck -rich-
Many thanks. Pity you are not in Brisbane or I would buy from you. I see them here with a nitro finish is that a spray lacquer or oil finish as you suggest, thankyou?
Hi, Can I ask you what set of strings have you put in that Gliga III, I have one and it just doesn't sound that rich...Mine is set with Jargar soft strings! Thank you!
Hello, love your review videos, though I wish you would do one on a Gliga viola! I am contemplating the Gliga "Genova" (intermediate) viola but I keep seeing mixed reviews about Gliga (though alot are about customer service). Also where I live I am lucky to have a luthier in my town so if there are minor adjustments needed I can get that done gradually. Please let me know if you have any wisdom to share about their violas or would you be willing to make a video on them. The second choice would be even better in my opinion! Thanks again for the great video.
Wow 😮! Great sound for an instrument that’s not prohibitively expensive!! I had a Romanian cello AND REGRET SELLING IT after I got my Luis & Clark Cf cello.
Hi Conrad The Nitro finish Gliga cellos are no where near as nice as the oil varnished Gligas. The attention paid to the oil varnishing is a large part of what gives the Gligas their mellow, deep sound. We don't stock the Nitro varnish version. We send cellos all over Australia, so you are of course welcome to purchase the cello from us so that you can receive our all important obsessive sound improvement setup :) We offer free postage and If the cello is not loved, we can organise for it to be sent back.
I really love your reviews, you give so much information - Thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Will give your store a call in the coming weeks! :)
