- Ralph has recorded this song a number of times through the years. Fx with Jan Garbarek in 1973, and with Oregon (where he played piano) in 1978. Here he gets downright funky. 1997.
The song originally came from the saxplayer Jim Pepper's native american grandfather. There's a wonderful clip of him singing it here on yt, check it out
The playing off of each other is Phenomenal... Love the rythmic intensity
An iconic sonic by Jim Pepper ,this played composition is between two brothers..it is heart felt .RIP GARY PEACOCK.
This gets better with EVERY listen!!!
Perfect in tune ness all around. This music just makes me sway and smile.
Immense beauty and musicianship here, wow, and great respectful homage to the late master Jim Pepper.

awesome!! please upload any more from this excellent footage. one of the best musical pairings ever.
Me sumo a los aplausos. Y gracias. 🌈
Super. Thanks for this.
Fantástico! Thank you!
RIP Gary
one of the giants - thanks for the 1000s of great hours of listening! Say hi to NHOP when you get there
Grande El "Panza" Towner¡¡¡¡¡Gary Peacock de lujo¡¡¡
el arte del duo
superb!!!
Un grandioso e histórico contrabajista que llegó a la cúspide de su talento en los Standards del trío con Jarrett y Dejhonette en los 80.
Man, Gary is just one of my favorite humans to ever live on the Bass
RIP GARY......
Fabulous performance. Gary Peacock 'out of tune', Music Calgary? Ear transplant needed. More from this concert would be great. Was lucky enough to see Towner live twice - once in duet with John Abercrombie in late 1979 in New York and a few months later in 1980 playing solo in Northampton Mass. Astonishing player, although reportedly rather grumpy!
Geniuses have that characteristic...they think on a higher plane and are often discontent with average, meaning the rest of us.
bellisimo !
super!
This is so much more interesting than any of that crap Gary did with Keith Jarrett and Jack DeJohnette.
Jarrett is overrated and I have found one album I like.
Everything else , especially Koln concert I find boring.
@@henrygarciga Those Scandanavian guys managed to make him sound pretty good. It's the only Jarrett stuff I like.
Que boooooo, joan, Catalonia lliure💕💕❤️
delicious.
je préfère l'orchestration de Oregon...mais ici, leur capacité à réécrire l'histoire est belle aussi !
These guys' technique and musicality just blow me away.
I would like to get a link with Jim Peppers grandfarther on YT. Some one.
intenso colloquio tra strumenti ..praticamente si parlano
O cara solando com a unha num 12 cordas!! #issoaglonãomostra
