Its worked for me, but it didn't give me the window/menu to organize how they appear on the mini after I hit Sync. The games are there but they were placed in a "1p" Folder I have to select to access the games. Is there an option to edit this in Hakchi so I can organize the main menu/games?
Do not have one of them, but was interested in how easy it is, after your video popped up for me. Great video! Did this on a PS1 classic for a friend and it was very similar to this process. Pretty sure this will help a lot of people out there
Thank you so much!
Don't bother. The hack does not work, there's many issues with the software, drivers, Windows 10/11... Nintendo should release an official update to add more games.

The dream should be if they make a mini console with Virtual Console or Switch Online, so you can buy more games or play the same games you can play on Super Nintendo Switch Online on your account.
once you do that is there a specific procedure to add new games or do I have just to connect the console and add games? thx a lot
Looked this up because I had modded mine when it first came out and it’s been years so I forgot how to do it. Also using a different pc now.
This was helpful. It did delete all of my other added games that were on it though. When synchronizing, it did not show me a folder with all of my files. It’s not a big deal, since I can just add the stuff I really wanted back. Just grateful to know how to add these games now.
Great job on the video dude! Very informative and detailed. Easy to understand and follow.
Thank you!!
can you use this to copy existing games on the system?
Thanks so much for this Man! How many of these ROMs can fit in the mini?
Thanks for uploading this video, can you answer me this question? Why after adding around 20 games (I used 118.5 mb) now I have only 206.3 mb available, but before I had 260 mb and every time I plug my snes mini to my Pc, the available space decreases around 5 mb ? I'm really worried about this can you get me an answer, please?
works like a charm for me, great to see Pitfall available
Awesome!!
So does adding the roms automatically generate the thumbnail cover art?
For the most part it does but if it doesn't, you can choose Google in the bottom right when you click and title. Other option is to download all cover art as a pack and run the option to attach them
whenever i hold reset turn the power on and plug the cable in my snes still doesn’t do anything i’ve been holding reset for 15 mins 😔 r.i.p
unfortunately this happened to me and i had to find out the hard way that i had unknowingly purchased a cloned snes mini. basically a very good fake.
Hey brother great video. Wish we had more videos like this that are more recent for modding the mini console. I haven’t updated my hakchi in a few years, idk if I would need to upgrade hakchi if I ever wanted to start modding again.
I will try to get some more tutorials for the newer versions up! The program itself is still fairly old but the emulators and cores have better updated versions.
I wish I would have bought one of these things with the games already in it 😊
Yeah God knows why this thing is so Darn technical to put games in😊
Where do I find the roms?
Unfortunately I can't give you an exact spot on here but if you Google it, the first few sites work great
@@UltimusPrime i found all of them already!!! Thanks though
When adding the whole library does it sort to folder auto? Or do I have to put each game individual. Thanks man.
The screen after you export to usb will have the option for how you want to folders to be set up. You don't have to put them in manually
@UltimusPrime thank my man found an extra so gonna add them all.
2 questions:
1) does connecting the console and adding the original games back in erase your current progress?
2) do I need to download a ROM file for all the games or does the hiachi software come equipped with it?
Hey! So I don't believe it keeps your progress initially when installed but after that you can add games and keep the progress.
The program has no roms with it, those you have to find on your own.
@@UltimusPrime gotcha. Do you have a site you would recommend to get the SNES roms?
Could you put nes games on this to?
Yes you can!
Awesome!
Everytime I get to the reboot screen it says my console takes too long. What do I do?
That is generally a cable issue or a firewall issue. If you Google that error it comes up with some reddit answers and solutions
I had great luck doing this, the only game that is not playable is Mario kart ... Of all the games . Sigh. It's shows up but can't play .
Help ..
keep getting error snes is taking too long to reboot while trying to install kernel, have tried so many fixes and none of them work do you have any idea what to do
Did ending up figuring it out I’m trying to hack mine and I keep getting that error too
@@anthonyfaris7731 Any update? Same issue over here.
The problem is in the PC. Keep the SNES mini connected to PC until it completely recognize and fully install the device. When it is done unplug it and repeat the connect process again.
What do you do when your kernels are outdated??
You can just go to Install/repair and it will correct it
Does this work for Mac or is there a Mac alternative?
Unfortunately not but if you emulate a pc on your MAC, I believe you might be able to
Could you mod TMNT rescue-palooza on it?
Dang! I should look in to that!
So it's not possible to add a USB stick to add more games?
Yes you can. You will need an OTG cable so you can plug the USB stick in
can you get SNES classic mini wolfstein 3d game??
Do i need to unzip the roms?
My kernel install process just knocked off mid way through the mini reboot phase. Just a red light on the mini now.
I will check about the unzip part and see.
@@UltimusPrime worked fine without unzipping.
I have tried to follow your instructions with Windows 11 pro but the OS did not detect the SNES mini. Any idea?
fabiop. i've often got ideas...if that happened to me while trying to install Hakchi on Win11...i'd assume (rightly or wrongly) that Microsoft operating system had updates that interfere or prevent pirate software installation...they're known for online policing these days...and it gets more spyware and tracking and monitoring every year with every new release...Android even listens via your mobile microphone...simple answer is do what most amateur and advanced PC users do...keep a Win7 or WinXP or Win10 maybe on a Laptop or second PC...don't have to be obsessive (OCD) like me and hoard 12 PC's and 8 Laptops with every OS since Win98 several times over...
I don't get the automatic boxart, dscriptiond and other info. Is there a way how to activate it?
Strange! I will have to look at it when I get some time. It has never happened to me
@@UltimusPrime I'm getting a NES mini tomorrow. Hopefully, I'm having better luck than with the SNES.
@@UltimusPrime Did you look into it? Because the same is happening to me as well
I went in to the Hakchi2 program, highlighted all the games I wanted box art and then right click, download all box art for selected games. Hope that helps!
OK I dug deeper in to it and you will need to download a pack with all the box art for the games. You then put those files in the folder labeled "art" in Hakchi. Then when you select scan for box art, it will take those and attach them to the games
Where do I find more games to ad?
I can't say where to get roms but I can say that Google works great!
Didn't work for me. Original SNES Mini, latest version of Hakchi, even original USB cable. My PC doesn't see SNES Mini connected, so couldn't install the kernel. Is there a method that DOES work?
Did you repair the kernel? Did you follow the power/hold reset? It will only recognize if all of the steps are followed otherwise it won't connect at all. This method works everytime as I've don't it on several systems without fail.
i am having exact same issue m it does not recognize ..... did you find a fix yet ?
Is there any recommended websites to download artwork (covers and spines) for more games to add?
I found a great site that has them all. I will need to look back and see if I can find it for you.
@@UltimusPrimeoh OK, I’d love to get that link as well
Once you hear the sound that it is connected do you stop holding the reset button?
Yes you do!
If I do this would it get rid of any suspend points from the original games?
Yes I believe it takes them away.
@@UltimusPrime ok thanks!
Am I understanding that this program comes with the ROMs, box art, and descriptions of all the SNES games you can put into the console, or do I need to download those myself?
No the roms are separate. You will need to find those. Google brings up sites for those and the box art will generate when you install them.
What about I try it it doesn’t let out kernel Hachie and it won’t connect
Depends on how much space you have used or you may need to use a flash drive with an OTG cable.
Do I hold still hold the reset button while it's installing?
No you can let go as soon as it connects. Then you can let go.
@@UltimusPrime thx man! I modded it and added Super Mario Allstars as a test, if I want to mod it again and add more games do I still have to hold down power and reset again? And also how do I make the game appear on the main menu instead of being in a folder, and furthermore, how do I rename the folder?
How did you get it to work? No matter what I do mine keeps saying error.
@theforzagamer3880 Are you using the latest version of hakchi?
Where did you get the roms
If you just type in to Google "SNES roms" the first couple of sites work great
@@UltimusPrime I'm scared
Will it hold the entire snes library?
It won't on the internal memory but you can add the entire library on to a flashddrive and use an OTG cable to be able to plug in the power and the flash drive
It says it’s taking long time to reboot, what do I do?
You try it again. I ran into the same issue.
FAIL!
Got my OG SNES Mini and latest Hackchi2 version.
This method does not work, software can't see the console, so it can't install the kernel.
I have done this method with multiple SNES Classic editions and it has worked every time. This is the method found online and in many forums. Not sure why yours is not working. Are you using a data transfer micro USB cable or a standard? The standard won't recognize the system as it doesn't transfer data.
Does this work for MAC? 🤔🤓🎮
Unfortunately it doesn't.
Great video. I modded mine back in 2017. We're your roms zipped or unzip?
Nice! Thanks for watching! My roms are zipped. Great little system to mod!
I hacked mine in 2017 it used to worked I started fresh and getting c7 error I’m not sure what to do
It says it’s taking a long time to reboot
So this is what I found on reddit for this situation.
Try the following suggestions:
*Use the original USB Cable if using a NES/SNES Classic. The OEM cable has a white sticker.
*Turn off Windows Firewall
*Turn off your VPN (if you have one)
*Turn off WiFi (if using a laptop)
*Turn off your Antivirus
*If using a Virtual Machine on a Mac/Linux, go to USB Settings and enable in both FEL/Powered On Mode
*You may need to install or update RNDIS Drivers
*Unplug power from back of system, wait 30 seconds, plug back in, try again!
*Restart Computer and/or hakchi
How do uninstall rndis drivers
its not working
How come?
when downloading roms, what files are needed for Hakchi to recognize it's a game?
Just want to add chrono trigger to it
PC won't detect my mini consoles, I tried to buy 2 different data micro USB cables from microcenter, still no luck detecting....
Strange. If they are data cables and you followed the steps, there is no reason it shouldn't work. Let me know if you find a workaround at some point.
@@UltimusPrimeI’ve given up after several weeks of trying. Only workaround left now is to just buy a modded mini console on FB marketplace and sell the one I have and just pay the difference. My mini PlayStation classic, I had no issues modding, was simple and easy. But for some reason both my nes and snes mini’s couldn’t be detected on my PC.
I mean install them
Where do I get the roms from
Unfortunately I can't give that information on here, but Google is your friend.
