This is only like half of it. He married his Aikido instructor's daughter in Japan. He stole the 300 year old family samurai sword when he came to the states. Then he proceeded to marry another woman without divorcing the first one. There are so many stories about this guy.
One time he was asked to be the emcee for an Aikido tournament and demonstration in Japan, and he demanded that everyone refer to him as a grand master, despite him not being a grand master.

Segal is WAY worse than just this video will tell you. Check out the episodes dedicated to him from the Behind the Bastards podcast. I had no idea he was as horrible as he is.
John Leguizamo told a great story about Segall on some movie he was in. he was supposed to die early in the film and Segall was so upset they had to talk him to get him out of his dressing room.

That rule about "looking at the calmest person in the room" doesn't really work in real life. For example, it's a super bad idea to apply that, when you're dealing with a psychopath or a highly intelligent piece of sh**, who either doesn't feel much or has full control over the image he projects publicly despite being able to commit the most despicable acts.
Besides, some people might be morally impeccable and feel deep indignation for people who lie and cheat, they may loose they're temper and scream, so I wouldn't say it's a good idea to judge a situation only by the level of calm people can hold.
*btw, this is no defense of Steven Seagal, he seems like a very rotten human being.

Aikido is great for self defence but it's not designed to be used for fight scenes segal is not what martial Arts in film should be

They missed the fact Vandamme had a fairly successful career in karate before switching to acting winning awards in both national and international competitions and while he has never been or claimed to be some kind of martial arts master his record proves he had real talent and the potential to go further.
Akido is used by the Navy Seals, but is not practical? Um, someone is mentally ill.
Akido isn't practical in a real fight, it was designed for an unarmed person to disarm an opponent with a weapon...which has real life application's...but Segal should retire...
