Conor your work out videos are motivating. I tested last night to see how far my throws are from the edge of the box and just shy from half field. When the wife told me to work on the upper body haha

If you have a look a few videos back, I did a review of the negative, roll and positive cut gloves that Kaliaaer have! Give that a watch, and hopefully that will help! I used to come and watch you playing for Loughborough with me dad. You are doing well, which is good to see. We both always rated you, for what it's worth. Enjoying your breakdown for workouts, etc. Do you use geometry and probability methods in your work at all?

What training would u do if your training is cancelled by the weather and u can’t go outside
Gym workouts, prehab, stretching, core, game analysis, indoor pitch training. Just have to keep thinking outside the box!

Silly question Conor, at your level especially after a heavy training session with dives and twists is it normal for you to feel a bit of back strain post training? I only ask this is that at my older age as a GK I've felt it a lot more post training. I suspect I need to stretch out one of my ql muscles more with the spikey ball

I'd be interested how you deal when you don't have a game for a week or two. I know you obviously train etc so quite different.
I was on absolute fire, keeping my team in games recently, but we had two weeks off due to the weather in the UK, and since I have been back I have played to games and been absolutely awful. Slow to react, not reading balls through, not reading balls in the air (FKs, Corners etc), and generally my shot stopping has gone from a 52/10 to about a 4/10 at the moment. I had exactly the same issue last season where I was playing out of my skin, two weeks off due to bad weather and I came back completely out of confidence, and underperforming.
Really really frustrating to be honest.
Hi Jim, I understand mate, had something similar this season, when we had the whole of November without a game. It's really hard when you lose that momentum. Don't beat yourself up about it, accept that it might take time to get that match speed back again, and work on as much as you can away from games to help with it

Thank you mate! I've spent the past 5 years building up my training routine, so have the capacity to train this way! It's not for everyone, but works for me!

Hi, I am a young goalkeeper I play for two teams and train 4 nights out of 5 and play on Saturdays and Sundays. Do you have any advice for a young goalkeeper like me?
Enjoy it! You're playing a lot of football, so the most important thing is that you are enjoying playing. Make sure you are sleeping and eating well too, so that you can recover from all the sessions quickly!

Realistically how often will you use your weaker foot for side volleys/punts in a game?
Depends how good you are with them... The whole theory of Symmetrical Distribution is that by having equal ability with both feet, you're able to hit any part of the pitch at any time. If you're not able with your weak foot, the striker might always push you onto that foot when closing you down. Or, if you injure your stronger foot during the game, you wont have the ability to continue as before. So improving the ability with your weak foot during training will give you more resources to use during a game

Yes, some of the players have other jobs!

you are doing plyometrics on concrete ? thats very bad for your knees and ankles. Don't ever do it
Too late! It's not a session you can do for hours, but it helps to build up the explosive power, and the stability in the joints!
