- Amazing Wildlife Encounter- Tiger Snake eats Willie Wagtail
The footage gives a rare insight into the rawness and unforgiving side of nature. Watch as a hungry Tiger Snake battles a pair of Willie Wagtails (birds) in a tree and plucks all four young from their nest. The encounter took place in suburban Melbourne, Australia and occurred over a thirty minuet duration. I hope you enjoy this small glimpse into spectacular and rarely seen animal behavior.

Hey, who turned out the lights?
The eyebrows on these birds are super cute. Beautiful snake and incredible footage!

brilliant Photography Ayden.
Very well documented!
Thank you for your efforts in making this great and pleasant clip
Thanks a lot for sharing this video. Ruthless mother nature.. I think people can learn a lot from it.
Amazing encounter Ayden and really well captured!
Very well filmed and presented.
Nice work mate!
Excellent footage you have here.
Excellent documentation bro
That's nature for you. Never knew a snake could open its mount so wide.
They can dislocate their jaws so its easier to swallow bigger prey
@@WiseOne93 No they don't dislocate they have ligaments in the jaw so they can open their mouth wide
Check on UA-cam videos of Komodo Dragons eating....goats and deer.
do i smell a new "life" series maker?
I live over the road from a creek full of snakes and have been catching them for 35 years. I have Never seen a Tiger snake climbing a tree !! 👀
You have now
great shooting and it is the life cycle, eaten & be eaten and usually in that case the birds have another brood. thanks for sharing
Well I've learnt something new today. I did not know the tigersnake was able to climb trees.
Birds eats snakes.
Snakes eats birds.

Late to this comments section, but this was an absolutely amazing video. The quality footage and angles are just spectacular, and the data is priceless. Thanks for sharing this. :)
Thanks very much John, i appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the encounter.
HOW THE FUCK IS THIS AMAZING
@@Imnottherealslimshady Shut up Soyboy. this is an insight on how nature works
@@Imnottherealslimshady Because it's a cool sight seeing an elusive animal such as this snake out and about hunting in a tree, this is also interesting because it's usually thought that tiger snakes don't climb trees because they are terrestrial.
This video is sad really sad and the thing is you get a thrill of watching this
Absolutely fantastic video
what camera are you using in this clip
wow I cant believe you got this on film. great video.
Great video love it
*YOU SHOULD HAVE SAVED THE BIRDS!!!*

Nature is harsh. That is just the way it is. The stronger and smarter creature wins.
Exactly, and that's the reason why gray aliens just watching us to know how humanity works 👽
Exactly! They say that but they could
That bird's got some nice eybrows
Well done Ayden, I'm enjoying your videos. I think it's important to see how nature works. We tend to be a bit too insulated from the reality these days.
Thanks Peter graded you enjoyed and I agree with you completely. We are far to isolated and removed from mother nature. this encounter is just a slight insight into what happens each and every day in the real world. The amount of emotional responses from people about saving the baby birds just goes to show that people don't understand the circle of life. Its amazing the number of people who become experts and over opinionated analysts after sitting on the couch and watching the news.
Great video thanks for sharing.
Greg Patterson this not nice 😭😭😭😭😭

What a terrifying experience for the chicks. Imagine being trapped in a room with your family when a giant snake appears and starts to eat you alive. 😨
we have to pray to god every day that we weren't birds
Its a Sci Fi horror movie.....

Impresionante¡¡ simplemente impresionante. La naturaleza en su mas cruel realidad,
that honey boo boo commercial got me laughing.
That poor mama bird watching her babies get eaten! She was so upset! 😔 that’s nature for you,... nothing we can do 🤷🏼♀️
We could do something the person that is filming could prevent that he can't prevent everything he's a journalist for photographer and this is what he does but I would like sometimes to intervene.
@@jimmyandino6646I would have hit the tiger out the tree
Food Chain and Fantastic Video. Mom may not have enjoyed watching her babies being Eaten, Swallowed Alive but I did and Enjoyed it to the End. 😆 😆. Greedy little F--kers always got their Beaks wide open to Swallow only this time they were Swallowed. 😆 😆 LMAO 😆 😆 And Alive. Enjoyed watching them Scream and Kick about. I can't imagine been a baby bird, just chilling in the nest and sleeping and then suddenly wake up been caught up in a mouth of a snake. That life was sure short lived...

I agree, I kept looking at the nest more than I did the "Encounter."
Thanks for the sad video.
Wow amazing footage and I can't understand the dislikes lol
Anyone who comments that he should have helped the birds is clearly unaware of how dangerous Tiger Snakes are here in Australia. No one is going to get in the way unless they want to die.
Even if the snake was harmless it would be wrong to interfere with the snakes meal.

What a Beautiful WONDERFUL NEST Super 👌
They sure do make an incredible nest, We have watched them build nests from the most raw, rigid materials such as bark all the way through to the finer details including things like spider webs and horse hair.
the nest is almost an art form when completed!
Very nice ❤
Very amazing
Mom, mom, is that you? Nope. Gulp. Lol!!!
You guys are too busy feeling sorry for the chicks, while I'm here grateful being on top of the food chain.
Must have been tough to film that and not interrupt... but such is the circle of life. Great photography, great video work too. Very nice work, man. Can't say I've ever seen anything like that before.

At my school my mom and I saw a cat and a bird, the bird and the cat are best friends :)
I study birds myself, but I have to say, that's some incredible footage! It's rare to see a tiger snake up a tree in the first place, let alone getting some free tucker!
Thanks for watching Ollie, glad you enjoyed.
The snake should try an eagle nest.
Bahah get owned
Cool
It's fantastic!
Nice
Very very like small birds and snake movies
simple! its called a food chain..its nature..no one can broked that.thats it😊
Poor little birds
Love it!
Great video, people need to learn to accept nature, it is sad but it's nature so accept it and leave the snake and the bird alone.
Thank you, we agree. Whilst it's certainly hard to watch, and our initial thought process was to intervene. We also acknowledged that the snake was obviously hunting and desperate for its next meal.
We decided to let nature take place, and were lucky enough to observe this rare encounter.
Amazing grip
To anyone who has labeled the snake evil, or bad, I'd like to say that:
A better way to think about nature is that we humans really have a stained perception. It's natural we should feel sorry for the prey animal and even label the hunter as evil, but remember, creatures have to eat too. Looking at this in a unbiased way , its watching the habits of one of the creatures on this planet, the same as watching a bird eat a berry or a squirrel bury nuts. I'd like to believe that whenever something lives, something dies as well. The death of these 4 chicks prevented the death of other creatures such as rodents and other chicks. Its a cycle we feel like we are separate from, but how many animals have to die daily for our growth and well, being. Even vegans are not safe from harming the planet by using commodities we have grown used to.
plus .....we decimate land ....and cattle and livestock ....& thats even before we get to the nasty behaviour of killing for nationalism or nikes .....humans are the real monsters hey?
If the snake is evil the birds are since they kill bugs anyway imaginable
It also serves as population control so the wagtails don't breed out of control
How can Humans, who kill and eat animals, complain about any other animal that kills and eats animals?
Amazing video. Glad you didn't opt to stop the snake. That said.. What a porker! Four chicks!
3:33 "Om nom nom nom"
Well done
You should have saved it you're heartless.
Said every person who doesn't know how nature works.
u stupid lol this is nature. if u want the guy to save everything then what the snake gonna eat?
Do you know how sarcasm works? I even pointed it out with the second sentence.
Happy Donkey lol you're the one is stupid...read the 2nd sentence
John Connor If you "save" all the animals that would break the food chain, killing even more animals. Think about it ._.
Happy Donkey

Found a bird (initially thought robin, later found out pigeon baby)... it was so cold in the rainy floor..... It helped BEST if they are placed in a DARK room (ideally on a tray with fluffy soft old cotton cloths to keep them warm + a small plastic BOTTLE filled with WARM WATER and wrapped in cloth so they can snuggle up near its warmth) they fall asleep within 10-15 mins & can safely recover for 1 day and then regular day cycle, in a quite corner (like store room).
Also ideal to feed them CERELAC liquid food with a 1-2 mm piercing in a glove/baloon streched onto a plastic bottle, then they open mouth & EASILY EAT AS MUCH AS THEY NEED (usually 5-10 ml in one go).... Good luck & thanks! 🕊👏🙏
That nest is epic.
I hated how people just video baby birds getting eating
It's nature, it's good because the snake is controlling bird numbers
what kind of tree and fruit is it
Hi Bill, This footage was taken in an apple orchard. The diversity of bird species was incredibly abundant as there was always food around in the form of fruit and pollinating insects. Quite an extensive food web for a semi urban area.
Cheers, Ayden
Its sad. But this nature and cycle of life among animals
Brilliant video Ayden. You have far more skills than just a bow hunter. Really enjoyed this one, thanks
Greg O'Neill
mother nature is not "cruel" its natural, other than that great video
Just cuz it's natural doesn't mean it can't be cruel at the same time
At 2:22 what did the mother bird pick up? ?
what an amazing video , well done mate ..got to love those canons , I've noticed you in spb, and now arrow head , loved your article ..i am also discovering awesome spots with sambar ,reds and fallow all close ..we are so blessed here …oh yeh ..thanks for making me look up aswell as down on those summer scouting trips lol keep it up mate great work, we aren't all as brave with sharing our experiences , …hats off too you and thnx
Gh05tWh0W4lk5 Thanks very much mate! you are correct, In Australia we are extremely fortunate to have such amazing and unique wildlife so close to our homes. We have to ensure that we do all we can to preserve what animals are native and remove those that are not. Good luck with your hunting, I appreciate the comments. Cheers Ayden
