Great video mate as usual 🙌🏼 I think these days it’s all card payments not so many people carry cash like they used to with my experience working for dominos
From my experience it really is true about who tips and who doesn't. It's the people in rough working class areas who throw you a couple of quid. I make sure I tip every time, those tips can be important for a driver, especially now with the price of fuel.
@@amyk9813 not at all, you can work at your own pace , u can do 5 deliveries in 6 hrs if u will , majority of domino stores seem to be in need of drivers so they wont do much about you going slower
I used to work in a Chinese takeaway in store & from what I heard from the old school drivers all the on line pre payed orders kind of killed the tips off
Used to tip all the time and feel guilty if I didn’t have any change but since dominoes stopped accepting cash and added a £3 delivery fee and minimum order I don’t feel guilty as it’s already become super expensive to order for 1 person.

clearly this varies between store. my area we only get £1.20 a delivery, the hourly is the same I think but at 18 its only £6.82 an hour. Being at a service station though we stay open longer (3/5am depending on the day) and deliver further to cover the area of those stores at those times, getting £2.70 for those runs, and pay is increased slightly to be on night pay. Fair to say most people spend more on fuel than they are given, and tips are so few and far between. wish i was doing it out in America for those massive tips and cheaper fuel with better fuel pay, especially when easily covering 150+ miles in one shift at times

I worked as a dominos delivery driver for several years at multiple stores and used to hate winter due to how dark it gets and how hard it is to find the houses as so many homes aren't clearly numbered. Tips were very hit and miss and I found the poorer customers would tip way more than richer ones. New years eve was a good day to be a domino's delivery driver as so many customers would be drunk and would tip so much. I once made around £120 on new years eve due to all the drunk customers, £50 of that came from a single customer who I went back to the next day to make sure they did in fact mean to give me such a big tip. I stopped working as a delivery driver as the car insurance requirements became too expensive and the company who took over the restaurants I worked at weren't very nice and had very questionable business practises. Funnily enough I've considered going back and doing some after work shifts just to give me a bit of a finance uplift but the manager refuses to hire me even though they're desperate for drivers, I guess when I quit they black listed my name hahahaha. Oh well there's like 3 other domino's around me who are owned by a different franchisee if I ever decided to go back although the Amazon delivery drivers job seems more appealing to me atm.

I work part time for Indians and Chinese takeaways mate the pay is much better if you get a good busy shop, I worked for dominoes too but the money is not the best and the tips were always so bad at dominoes (probs because of the expensive pizza) in the Indian they give £15/20 petrol money depending on the hours worked.. either 4:30-9 or 4:30-12. Hiya mate, i did dominos for a year 2014-2015 mainly doing fri/sat night 6pm-2amas a second job. Still remember the addresses of the big tippers, but mainly after 10pm we were just delivering to stoned/drunk people. One driver took advantage if this and just wouldnt hand over any change no matter the amount. Packed the car up with a six pack of pepsi and a couple of bags of M&Ms ready for what the night may bring. Happy memories of competitions to see who could make up the most medium boxes in a minute. I even delivered to a girl who a couple of years later i would meet and marry ( remembered the house cos i got a good tip ) worked one xmas eve as well and got naff all in tips, did get offered pop and chocolate from some houses having parties. The store boss was horrible to work for, daddy was the franchisee so he had just been handed a store and tried to intimate the younger drivers with his crap management style. He was always looking to bin his non-favourites come 9pm when the families had stopped ordering ( i got away with it cos i was the only one willing to work til close, told him to try his games on someone who would fall for them; my full time job was better paid than him, i was just saving up for a house deposit, and i knew the area so could figure out the double/triple drops ) was so happy to leave when i did, they’d screwed over that many drivers to leave that they had to get drivers from other franchises over 16 miles away to come and work our store. I pranged my car on one run and they were more concerned about getting the pizza to the customer, so the manager came out in his Range Rover to come and get it, leaving me at the side of the road awaiting the AA. Luckily i got my dream job so i just stopped going in, didnt care about the pay they owed me. Good luck on whatever path you choose pal
U got a online app called TiPJAR linked to your dominos account ask a manager about it as I’m a domino’s delivery driver £10 per hour plus delivery fee
Nice work, I understand that the tips is a bonus too your wage which isnt great, I worked for them years ago as a Manager, the sad part is yes Dominos are expensive nowadays and as for them now adding the 3 pounds delivery charge is a scam basically, cause that 3 pounds should goto the driver on top of the min wage they only pay, good luck mate.
Personally I never tip food delivery drivers, just because the delivery fee is already added. Also cut right down on dominos as it’s really expensive now!
Since Dominos stopped accepting CASH as payments, and customers are paying by card, and the fact we are leaning towards a cashless society, tips are getting rarer and rarer. As a Dominos customer, I always tip if I have change.........but that's extremely rare. Dominos did actually start allowing customers to tip via an SMS link, but it meant typing in all your credit card details again so I genuinely couldn't be bothered. Dominos need to integrate tipping into the app where you just click a button, and use existing payment method. Having customers enter their payment details again is a really badly thought out idea and as a customer, I want to be able to do it from within the app where it already has all my payment details saved. If Dominos genuinely cared about their employees, this would have been done long ago.
Just bumped into your last day at Amazon video whilst on UA-cam. Sound lad with good, interesting content. Shame money is so poor, you seam like a grafter. I know you said you are leaving the country soon but have a look into scaffolding, good money. Good luck mate.
not being a Karen, but i never tip. There are a lot of other jobs that is a lot more skillful and requires more attention that also would never expect a tip, ie electricians, plumbers etc. In my opinion tipping is such a stupid thing especially in UK when they give you an ok wage and extra per trip you do. Now i know that, its strengthens my point even more.

Thanks so much for sharing that, glad you’re in your dream job, take care 💪
How did the managers fuck you over as a driver?
Does Dominos pizza delivery drivers gets paid holiday?
I believe so
Im a milkman . In the last two weeks i made over 200 quid in tips. Plus two beers and a bottle off scotch and bottle wine left out for me.
I’m in the wrong industry!!
That wasn't a tip, I left the booze outside to chill. No wonder I couldn't find them, the bloody cheek!
Can I apply Domino pizza in kitchen job in u k
Yes
Do a day in the life of Pizza Hut , and so on any delivery start a series 👍
I’ll have a little think about it
U got a online app called TiPJAR linked to your dominos account ask a manager about it as I’m a domino’s delivery driver £10 per hour plus delivery fee
I’ll have a look
Is that cash in hand or taxed
Road to 100k!
We’ll do it fingers crossed 🤞
Do they pay for fuel
£1.25 per delivery
Nice work, I understand that the tips is a bonus too your wage which isnt great, I worked for them years ago as a Manager, the sad part is yes Dominos are expensive nowadays and as for them now adding the 3 pounds delivery charge is a scam basically, cause that 3 pounds should goto the driver on top of the min wage they only pay, good luck mate.
Thanks for the tips! Got to agree with you, good luck
If you’re tipped through the app do you still get 100% of it?
I don’t think you can get tipped through the app 😆
Im trying to figure out your accent, are you fully british? Im genuinely curious
Shit houses in Liverpool not tipping on Christmas.
We make sure we get money out for delivery guys here down south 💪
Thanks a lot man, up to them really
Merry Christmas and happy new year Zac... Are working to Domino s?
Thanks! Yes
Tax then petrol
I’ll address this haha
As a former pizza delivery driver, the tips dried up when COVID hit and everyone started paying online
I noticed that
Spot on.
Dominos is so expensive not surprised you don’t get many tips haha
Yep
How much in fuel
About 10-15 per day
No one has cash anymore its all online so no tips they should set up for online tips for drivers
I didn’t even think tipping was even a thing for delivery’s anymore.
Haha
Just bumped into your last day at Amazon video whilst on UA-cam. Sound lad with good, interesting content. Shame money is so poor, you seam like a grafter. I know you said you are leaving the country soon but have a look into scaffolding, good money. Good luck mate.
Do u get paid weekly working with dominos
4 weekly
not being a Karen, but i never tip.
A1 1.6 ?
Yep diesel sportback, very fuel efficient!
@Zac Jones ye man 45 mpg I did on delivery's.
I've never tipped dominoes. For me its expensive as owt as it is. Plus its paid on my card. I'd tip zac though.
I understand
Good video bro! You might end up delivering to mine haha👀😂
We shall see
Nice vid. You forgot to - your fuel off the total 👍🏼
Insurance. Wear n tear.
Insurance is free, wear n tear is to be considered! I spent about £12 worth of fuel in this vid
@@ZacJonesUA-cam He may mean the ‘correct insurance’ as your premium would go up. £12 not bad 👍🏼
@@ZacJonesUA-cam wow I've looked everywhere, been unable to get carriage of goods insurance less than several hundred a year. Then to change to a company that accepted top-up insurance, meant a higher SDP policy as the selection of insurers was so small. Must be a youtube perk?
@@cpunto I can't really answer on Zacs behalf but I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Domino's provide the business insurance on their drivers cars
Feel like people don't tip dominos due to pizza being expensive £25 for a pizza.
That's crazy expensive.
But you paid for petrol, so it will be less.
Dominoes charge a £2.50 delivery fee now so people feel that pays for it
You have the strangest accent. Bit of Liverpool and Welsh?
Liked the video !
My dads Welsh so maybe haha
I think most people have a good idea what it takes to deliver pizzas
I think so to, this video still got 24k views including yours
Is Domino's employed or self employed ?
Employed mate
Employed
