Is there a video on getting rid of the chemical smell in used C cans?
Hey Channing! Love the vids.
I’m wanting to put arched windows in my shipping container home project. Is it viable?
Ooof. Anything is possible. I would suggest framing and insulating the exterior so you can frame out the windows traditionally. Check out our Exterior Studding Brackets.
If you want the arched windows + the corrugation look, that header would have to be laser cut and laser welded. The rough opening marking / cutout would take serious skill as well.
The easiest way would be to get 2x2 square tubing bent on that perfect arch (bend it like an exhaust pipe) then make a full square tube frame and weld it in but if you see in my videos, this is the method I hate.
@@TheContainerGuyTV Thanks for the info!
Great idea... Usual 5 stars... LOL
How can I put in a door where the 2 doors are?
Build a wall behind them
Okay. This is very cool. But it is not what a residential HOME container build needs. Just to be sure. Every HOME needs a concrete foundation… or not? Traditional plumbing systems and electrical could be implemented as usual?
It could be used in a residential build where the container sits on pylons instead of a slab, which allows a very rigid base as well as underside access for plumbing/hvac access as well.
Why don’t you allow customers order online and respond to emails or phone calls?
We made a skid out of dimensional lumber in about 3 hours to skid our containers into place.
We then took apart the skids and used the lumber elsewhere on the farm.
It's not clear to me why you'd made such a skid unless you were in the delivery business.
This is an oil rig skid, its made to be in temporary locations and moved often while retaining the rigidity move after move. Often used for mobile offices and such where you may not have a crane accessible location but other heavy machinery can be used to push and shove the skid around.
If you order something from this company you may never get it and they don’t reply to email.
We got our new 40 foot containers delivered to Perth western Australia 6 of them
I worked in manufacturing for 30 years. You guys are spending too much time fabricating those parts. There are so many better ways... I'll bet part variation would be high.
This was a last minute skid build and most of the HSS was in stock in long lengths. We typically pre order band saw cut to length.
If we had to mass produce, a shop nearby has a 60ft robotic pick/place/weld line that could build these autonomously.
This video is pretty much a dumb idea to give away all our secrets to our competition but whatever, now the world knows.
