Recently started playing this game again, and as an 8DX player, it is such a weird game to me. Definitely having fun but it is brutal when I’m used to 8DX

honestly a lot of the changes zpl made to official nintendo courses dont look good, and in fact are the things that hurt his existing custom tracks. Even though the vaseline glow that mkwii has is not liked, not having it makes the game look even more uncanny. In my opinion, wario stadium (one of the few tracks with the glow) is one of--if not THE--only custom track in the distribution that looks official. Other things that plague these are lighting that's too even, as is the case on the modified maple treeway and ds figure eight circuit to name a few. Otherwise, though, its a great distro overall and im happy that troy and nick are making such extensive use of it.
The ctgp city track with different laps is able to happen because the paths still hit all the same checkpoints. If you were to do the tour tracks you would have to find a way to do different checkpoints every lap. The only track I think you could get away with I think is Tokyo blur by having no checkpoints at all, and making sure the player can fall off
The powers of heaven and earth would combine to prevent Nick from winning an episode of flounder fest lol

A glitch occurred with standard bikes that forced them to run outside drift
This means nobody on nicks team had inside drift while Troy's all had that option
In addition nick had a DC in every event
Finally been waiting 2 weeks
Maybe the losing team should pick the track after a the first one being randomized

Well this week's episode made things easier for me. The Standard vehicles have average stats. What did I say last time? Between 35/80 and 49/80? I forget. The only ones that have weak stats are the Small ones (their weight stats fall below 35/80), but both the Small and the Large have strong stats (Small having a Drift stat and Large a weight stat being 50/80 or higher). Additionally, heavier vehicle counterparts usually have a higher base top speed (base top speed meaning without a wheelie), while lighter vehicle counterparts are better at everything else. Bike counterparts are also lighter and slower than their kart counterparts, but slightly better in all the other stats.
All these generalizations apply to all the Standard Karts and Bikes. Pretty evenly matched, except for the advantage of wheelies for bikes and now purple miniturbo for karts. The Standard vehicles are normally all outside-drift as shown in the video because the mod didn't work properly lol oh well but I would like to mention that automatic drift and Wii Wheel, put together, help alleviate the sideways momentum that plagues outside-drift.
