- In this video I install a Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake controller into my 2017 Toyota Tacoma. TLDR; the plastic bracket included with the controller to mount it is garbage. 3M Dual Lock Velcro to the rescue! Way better mounting solution.

still not sure when it broke. I think it must have been defective and cracked when I snapped the controller in and out. velcro saved the day and actually works better.

Lmao! You cranked those screws down way to tight!
I guess possible user error, but I didn't think I screwed them in too tight. Either way, the velcro solution worked out being a much better way to mount and still be able to easily remove for storage. Thanks for watching!

Is this controller mounted within a 0-70 degree angle ?
Joshua, thanks for watching! Yes it is. I haven't measured it but it's probably around 25-30 degrees.
How do you know how high to adjust it?
Trial and error really - instructions provide info on how to test and adjust it once you are pulling a trailer.
Does your controller stay on when your truck is off?

The white ground wire should go directly to the negative battery terminal, NOT to a chassis ground.
Installation instructions for the Tacoma/Tundra specific connector from Tekonsha don't mention this as an issue and mine has been working fine.
