"easy" in Pokemon varies by how you play. The vast, vast majority of players use items in battle and play on shift, some even overlevel their mons or even use legendaries. For those players, technically literally every single battle in the entire series should be very "easy", Bruno and Koga both just happen to be easier on average than most Elite 4 and gym leaders pre-Gen 6 (b/c virtually no matter how you matter how you play EVERY major battle in X&Y is still easy as fuck even compared to all the other games in the series, most of which aren't particularly difficult even if played on set without healing items like normal) regardless of how you play the game. It's also pretty hard to make Koga "not easy", I mean it takes a lot to not have mons capable of wasting his team.
I'm not sure when this show went from quirky little glitch exploits to straight up Saw level escapes but I'm never bored when I see one of these videos.
Thinking about it, I don't think Slaking would actually be slower than Scizor. Yeah you have Truant, but you lose important resistances from the typing. The best fight I could find on a cursory glance might be one of the S/M/US/UM Acerola fights. It's the only Ghost Elite 4 that has versions without any fighting moves. But the fights would have other problems. We would have 4 to choose from (two fro each iteration). Round 1 (S/M) could go for quite long since 2/5 mons have Confuse Ray so you could make active turns between Truant less useful. The problem there is that confusion deals damage to Slaking if it comes up, which may cancel out the benefit from it. Dhelmise also has Whirlpool which would deal way too much damage in way too little time. Round 2 (S/M) has a Sableye with Brick Break as the first pokemon, so I'd disqualify it there already. If that weren't the case, this would've probably been the best fight though, since it's the only one without an offensively boosting move on Driftblim and that Driftblim also has Will-O-Wisp, which would just be an empty turn with a paralyzed Slaking. Round 1 (US/UM) Is also really bad for this. Banette has Infestation, which is again too much damage too quickly. That Banette also has Screech, so Defense IVs are pretty much irrelevant. Dhelmise has Whirlpool again. Round 2 (US/UM) has a lot of the problems above, but we trade Dhelmise's Whirlpool for a set of 2 actually damaging attacks on Driftblim, as well as a lot of beefed up moves like EQ on some mons. Going outside of Elite 4 is not really useful either, since E4 could guarantee at least a bit more time with the higher levels and having to fight other trainers consequtively. Aside from the obvious point that only E4 really locks you in and forces you to fight. For other E4s: Shauntal has a Golurk with an Iron Fist boosted Fighting move in every iteration. Phoebe has either Curse or Grudge on her first mon, so the Slacking either die quickly or start struggling way too early. Agatha never actually has a full Ghost team believe it or not, but if nothing else her Let's Go Round two teams _could_ be something since it's the only one with full 4 moves, no sleeping move and Air Slash on Golbat. The reason a full Ghost team would be optimal is because the move with the highest possible PP Slaking can learn is Scratch which could be maxed out to 56 PP.
I can think of ways to make what he just did even longer. For example he shouldn't have healed Scisor before saving. Unfortunately, Special Attack and Special Defense in Gen II can only be different by being on a Pokémon with different base stats (this is to preserve backward compatibility with Gen I's merged Special stat), so a Level 100 Scizor will *always* have exactly 50 more Special Defense than Special Attack; also there's only eight different IV combinations (which also affect stats) that result in shininess.

I really enjoy the amount of creativity in your Pokemon videos. Coming up with convoluted, nightmare-inducing methods of softlocking these games is a gift in itself.
In theory, you could eventually soft lock a game with a sufficiently long challenge like that. If a battle could be made longer than the life of the AA batteries the gameboy used
Also; "it took me a little bit to make" Even ignoring the time spent theorycrafting and planning that went into this, the actual recording session took nearly an hour and a half. Thats dedication
Paralysis would most likely still be better, since a savvy player would just deplete Rest at the start. Coupled with a max PP of 16, it's probably not the slowest thing you could do
I wish I could say I realized what you were doing at some point in the setup phase, but no, it took me until after you replaced Fury Cutter to realize just how evil this save file is. wonderfully done, love it.
Soft lock picking is one of my favourite UA-cam series!! These come out 2 or 3 times a year, and still I constantly look for new episodes!! Glad to have seen today's!!
Oh, you weren't kidding on that stream when you said you wouldn't want to replay it. This is evil though, I love it. Six shiny scizors wouldn't even be *that* hard to pull off legitimately since in crystal you can use the PC duplication exploit. You'd just need that first shiny scyther first
Giovanni disappeared, Blaine's devoted to rebuilding his gym, and Sabrina fought to establish hers as Saffron's official gym. Basically, all the leaders after Koga didn't want the E4 position.
Great video. There are a ton of setups you could go for, but the part that makes it interesting is that you're assuming someone is trying to escape from the long battle, not trying to prolong it for as long as possible. This eliminates the possibility of using setups with fling/trick and leppa berry to refresh PP endlessly, or running something like heal pulse to prevent the opponents Pokemon from dying.
I get the feeling that we're gonna need to pack a lunch for this one. Edit: I thought this was inanely convoluted data manipulation, but no it's just evil.
More optimally, start by spamming baton pass for each Scizor, this gets the most time consuming move out of the way early, then you can just use the other moves freely to save time. This also let's you get each Scizor into struggle range faster, and may even let koga deal more damage
You have no idea how happy I am everytime you upload a pokemon softlocl video pikasprey, thank you for another banger and I look foward to the next one!
I don’t know how much more effective this would be, but if scizor got rest (idk if it does), would running that on all scizor over some other move be better? since it heals you and takes two turns to wake up, essentially having 16 full heals and 48 pp
doesn't rest fail if used at full hp? you need the opponent to attack every turn or be trying to get max turns for 48. if it fails every time thats just 16 turns. if you spam rest first and the opponent doesn't attack every turn it will be less than 48 for sure but probably more than the 24 of double team. it also cures status so going into the battle paralyzed wouldn't help... speaking of... why tf are the scizors not paralysed??? paralysis adds another text box per turn and 25% more turns

@@Maxpower3586 Don't think it learns Baton Pass
I was bingeing your other softlock videos yesterday, so this is great timing. If I ever meet you in person, I'm never playing a game you hand me.
How on earth does he come up with all of these insane softlock ideas? It's fascinating the things he thinks of, yet also scary at the same time.
I wonder how the other Gym Leaders and Elite Four Members feel towards the horror stories they hear from Lorelei and now Koga
Just seeing the setup for this makes me wonder "what kind of goddamn monster would even dream of this?"
Pikasprey, that's who
What are the odds…. I haven’t seen an upload since the the Larvitar video, I checked about 6 hours ago and watched the recent ones and than I logged on to UA-cam without a notification and saw this video at 3 minutes. Fate has brought me a video from my favorite UA-cam creator :)
I really enjoy the amount of creativity in your Pokemon videos. Coming up with convoluted, nightmare-inducing methods of softlocking these games is a gift in itself.
In theory, you could eventually soft lock a game with a sufficiently long challenge like that. If a battle could be made longer than the life of the AA batteries the gameboy used
Well... Softlocked based on device. GBSP has a rechargeable so that'd break the softlock.
GB has an AC adapter
@@Marianoejar Does the GBC though? Crystal can only be played on the GBC and later after all.
@@starmangalaxy2001 yup, it’s got an AC adapter and that’s not counting the third party rechargeable batteries for it
The Pokémon Stadium 2 GB Tower or the Gamecube's Game Boy Player are other options to avoid the battery issue.
I really like how unique these videos are. It's like a reverse challenge run where you try to eliminate as much cheesy strategies as possible
Also; "it took me a little bit to make"
Even ignoring the time spent theorycrafting and planning that went into this, the actual recording session took nearly an hour and a half. Thats dedication
I’m glad you found the footage and 2020 Pikasprey’s hard work paid off to display such a grueling, tedious battle!
I'm pretty sure scizor can learn rest in crystal. That's a few extra turns 😂
There's no rest for the wicked
Paralysis would most likely still be better, since a savvy player would just deplete Rest at the start. Coupled with a max PP of 16, it's probably not the slowest thing you could do
I wish I could say I realized what you were doing at some point in the setup phase, but no, it took me until after you replaced Fury Cutter to realize just how evil this save file is. wonderfully done, love it.
Welcome back to the yellow side, Pikasprey.
You'd just need that first shiny scyther first
Heyy I am really happy that is channel's soft-lock picking is not dead
How Koga got promoted to be an Elite 4 member is still beyond me?
Better question is how Bruno got anywhere with his awful team.
@@Chowder_T he got demoted to third elite four lmao I guess that’s the worst that could’ve happened to him
@@Chowder_T look at how ripped that dude is and tell me you'd be fine with pissing him off
Giovanni disappeared, Blaine's devoted to rebuilding his gym, and Sabrina fought to establish hers as Saffron's official gym. Basically, all the leaders after Koga didn't want the E4 position.
@@gengarzilla1685 misty spends more time dating than battling, Erika makes perfume, and Brock is Brock
This is the first pokemon video I've seen on the day it was uploaded in two years. Really liked it, keep it up!
Ah always good to see Asprey breaking stuff.
"You can all read the title" has no reason to be this funny
Absolute power move right there
Koga really spent years training to become an elite for member just to be held hostage by a 10 year old
Another Softlockpicking? Nice, thanks for making my day Pikasprey.
This setup would take even longer if the entire team was Shiny and also paralysed, since then youd also lose a turn every so often
The king has returned
Was about to head to bed, but I suppose I could stay up for 10 more minutes.
Every time you added something, I could feel the battle becoming more daunting... it's not too ridiculous, but pretty good work!
Kinda strange to hear pikasprey talk as if he hasn’t made save files completely unplayable in the past.
The pettiness at this imaginary person getting this cartridge of saving in the corner, the long names, the berries.... I love it lol.
Imagine playing the entire game like this. Just internationally making every battle take as long as humanely possible until you can beat the league.
Basically his six smeargle challenges
Great video. There are a ton of setups you could go for, but the part that makes it interesting is that you're assuming someone is trying to escape from the long battle, not trying to prolong it for as long as possible. This eliminates the possibility of using setups with fling/trick and leppa berry to refresh PP endlessly, or running something like heal pulse to prevent the opponents Pokemon from dying.
Another optimization to make is to have all the Scizor be paralyzed - meaning each turn there's a 25% chance no move will be selected.
I love these videos, just because i don't even play pokemon games anymore i always enjoy watching someone breaking the game
I get the feeling that we're gonna need to pack a lunch for this one.
Edit: I thought this was inanely convoluted data manipulation, but no it's just evil.
These instructions sound like the schoolyard rumors of how to summon PokeGods in the Gen I games.
I almost feel bad for Koga having to watch these events unfold tbh
I've been missing these kind of vids, good to see Pikasprey Yellow getting some love !
More optimally, start by spamming baton pass for each Scizor, this gets the most time consuming move out of the way early, then you can just use the other moves freely to save time.
This also let's you get each Scizor into struggle range faster, and may even let koga deal more damage
I love the ending where pikasprey almost softlocked himself
This series always gets a new upload each time i forget it exists
YAY! I was looking for more Pikasprey content yesterday, and now this goes up!
I feel like this will be a short-lived series, considering you are your own victim with these endurance battles.
And if one of the non-damaging moves inflicted Paralysis...
doesn't rest fail if used at full hp? you need the opponent to attack every turn or be trying to get max turns for 48. if it fails every time thats just 16 turns. if you spam rest first and the opponent doesn't attack every turn it will be less than 48 for sure but probably more than the 24 of double team. it also cures status so going into the battle paralyzed wouldn't help... speaking of... why tf are the scizors not paralysed??? paralysis adds another text box per turn and 25% more turns
@@TMHMooseMoss yeah additionally ur offesetting any chip damage making the struggles take longer in the long term. also yeah para would have been even more hellish
Was expecting another solo run challenge and was pleasently surprised remembering your channel does something completely different :D
Hell yeah strap on guys this is gonna be good
STRAP IN I MEANT STRAP IN
What's this about a strap-on?
Omg I'm so happy! Another Pikasprey video. Your videos are so specific and niche and I love it cause no one else is doing this shit. It's so interesting for me. Keep it up!
I wonder if we can go back in the time when TPP was in the Rocket hideout and no democracy and anarchy was added to the system, what are the odds to pass the labyrinth in the game by accident?
I enjoy watching you do ridiculous things in Pokémon games
finally, more ways to ruin pokemon!!
Ok I just gonna be honest, I LOVE your content. I listen to your softlockpicking playlist every night to sleep well.
Love your new video! Keep up the quality.
I guarantee if you uploaded the footage of the entire fight as a video on another channel, people would watch it.
I've been waiting for a new pikasprey upload for ages
thank you for blessing us with more shenanigans
Why did you use swordsdance? It rises the damage received under confusion
"AAAAAAAAAAAA" would pretty much be my reaction trying this myself xD well done on the video, Pikasprey! :D
The wait during that battle is almost as bad as the wait for another Pikasprey video! I missed your weird pokemon annoyance videos!
Omg... imagine the shiny animation playing for an hour and a half. Brutal.
This made me really happy. I appreciate you bro!!
You rarely upload, but the videos you release are always worth the wait!
When Will says "I... I can't... believe it", I allways hear it in Nappa's voice lol.
I watch this video ever couple of months. You’re a bonafide artists. This is art.
Love your videos, your Pokemon soft locks are always very interesting. This is such a creative idea for a long battle!
Everything sounded so random and absurd, but it all came together majestically... you are truly a pioneer when it comes to bizarre and almost-unthinkable scenarios in these pokemon games. Though, I really wish you would use an emulator and cheats to reduce the suffering that you always endure for these kinds of videos... I feel so bad for you. Extremely entertaining though! Keep it up the great work~ :D
This series is amazing. Can't wait to see more.
I gotta say, this is impressive :o I'm glad you found the footage! :D
I'm glad you didn't have to redo this. These are always fascinating, but not nearly enough for me to ask you to suffer an hour and a half of slow torture...well, a second time.
I’ve missed seeing ridiculously tedious content from you and this one did not disappoint 🥳😂
Love when Pikasprey uploads no matter how rare
I don’t even have notifications on, I searched for your video and you posted an hour ago.
Always a good day when pikaspry uploads
