Yes, that is Adam Rupp their beat boxer making the harmonica sound. We call him the Freak Of Nature, because I don't think there's a sound he can't mimic. And no, there is never any instruments involved with this group, ever! The guy in the back next to him is Adam Chance, but everyone just calls him Chance. He has a 4 octave vocal range He's the one making the Jew harp sound in the beginning and the end of this video. The guy leading the song is Austin Brown, their high tenor. The big guy with the bushy beard is Rob Lundquist, their lead tenor. And the guy with that deep bass is Tim Foust. Don't let that guy fool you though, because he has a 5+ octave vocal range. So while he's down in the basement one minute, don't be surprised when he soars up into the high tenor range the next. Lovin' these reactions, and can't wait to see what you decide to do next! Thank you!!!
Thank you for introducing me to Home Free! They are amazing!! Also I loved your reaction, you looked so happy and liked you were having so much fun. Just a real pleasure to watch! Got a new sub
This is one of my favorites and your reaction was priceless! When you realized it was the song from your dad's favorite movie....I wish you could have seen your eyes! You were so happy!😊
LOVED your reaction and enthusiasm! Something tells me your subscriber count is about to go way up! (I subbed on your Day 1 video.) You're a Home Fry now. A great movie and their cover of this song is just amazing. Suggestions for your week include: End of the Road - this is a must; you'll see why. Can't Stop the Feeling - you'll get to see a breakdown of how they layer things. The Butts Remix - just because it's hilarious, and it also has Chris Rupp, baritone (cowboy hat) - brother of Adam Rupp, beat-boxer; they co-founded the group. I Can't Outrun You - features the new baritone/bass, Adam Chance (goes by Chance) who also directed the heartfelt video. How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping or Auld Lang Syne - for pure vocal insane harmonies. Blue Ain't Your Colour - to see their versatility. Country Roads - because they love their craft and took 5 (!) years to perfect this arrangement in order to do the late John Denver proud. Folsom Prison Blues - their latest, for some amazing vocal gymnastics by Adam (human drum kit, etc.) and outrageous bass notes. This should get you started down the rabbit hole - it goes deep. ONLY AFTER about 10 videos, should you do Mayday, which many will recommend as another must. You'll thank the Home Fries later, if you wait.
lol. No harmonica. You would love to see the live UA-cam performance of this. They show how they used some looping for some of the background sounds for the lives shows. And then Austin (lead) goes over and does a harmonizing "harmonica" sound duet with Adam. The crowd always goes nuts! It's incredible. Talented group of guys they are. So happy they bless us all with their music and fun personalities so our lives are a bit better! Take care. You are awesome. Keep it up.
Man, its great to hear how diverse your reactions are. Home Free and Limp Bizkit opposite ends of the spectrum. Home Free End of the Road cover is an great one to listen to!
Thanks for doing this! Great reaction! They really did nail this. So many others for you to consider, so you have a tough job picking the ones you want to react to this week. I suggest "Hillbilly Bone," "California Country" (an original), "Butts Remix", "End of the Road," and "Mayday,." But if you want to go deeper.you really should include "How Great Thou Art," "Helplessly Hoping", and "Auld Lang Syne." But you kind of can't go wrong, whatever you choose.
😂 Great reaction. I have this posted here on UA-cam of them doing this song live last October. Austin (high tenor singing lead) joins Adam with the harmonica sound. They also threw a little mash-up in for good measure. 😉
I don't know if you can rightly call this a cover. It's a traditional song from the early 20th Century and has been done by many groups, including Soggy Bottom Boys in the movie Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.
It was published (put to paper) in 1913 to save for posterity because it was an old American Folk song at that time that had been passed around by mouth. The original author(s) is unknown. It definitely pre-dates 1913. But it isn't known if it originated in the 19th or 18th century. Definitely not 20th century.
@@miamidolphinsfan Yes The Stanley Brothers had the most popular version of the pre 60s. Ralph Stanley is the voice for the klucker singing Oh Death in the movie.
Actually published (put to paper) in 1913 so it wouldn't be lost. The original author is unknown as it is an old American Folk song. At the time it was published, it was infinitely old.
Great reaction!! Listen to “The Gambler”; “Folsom Prison Blues”; “Can’t Stop The Feeling “; “Helplessly Hoping “; “Ed of the Road “; “Catch Me if you Can”; “Die a Happy Man “; & “Hill Billy Bone”!!! You’ve just scratched the surface of the HF playlist!!
It's amazing how these things can come back when we're not expecting them, isn't it? Tim and that ridiculous bass is very popular with a lot of fans - but if you want to put your mind at rest you could watch Die a Happy Man, which is a really romantic video with Tim and his wife, when they got engaged. They're very cute together. 😀
True a capella group. No instruments at all. They make the music sounds from their voices. Sounds like a band doesn’t it? They are truly talented. I’m a Home Fry myself
The look on your face when Adam played the harmonica ...with just his voice...priceless! A whole week of Home Free....awesome! This Home Fry just hit the sub button! You should check out their covers of Meet In The Middle or Some Girls Do!
In the movie this song was an off the cuff hit for some quick cash for singing in the blind man’s can. Great movie...also supposed to follow Homer’s The Odyssey but set in depression era Missouri
Really enjoyed this reaction. So spontaneous and authentic. We are called Home Fries so you could be KrazyFry if you decide to join this HF fanbase. Thank you for the week of HF reactions and I recommend you react to an original from their latest album. The album is Dive Bar Saints and you could react to the title track or Lonely Girls World.
We are called Home Fries ! It was written in 1913, so its a very old song. I heard a gal say once, that win Tim starts to speak or sing her ovaries would start to ovulate Lol In real life Tim is married to Jenika, and you can see her in theircover of "Die a Happy Man" she is the blonde in the red dress :)
New sub here. I love your reaction to Home Free. You asked what the fan base is called, we are called Home Fries. Welcome to the fry basket.. Can't wait to see you react to End of the Road and When a Man loves a Woman..
This is based on an old folk song. It was first recorded in the early 1900's, but no one knows when it was written or by who. There are dozens of versions.
My family has so many references to that movie! And in my house, we call "brownie feet" when baking, brownies or cornbread or cake Its brownie feet Lol I thought you was a toad!!!!! Ma hair
Try an original like Catch Me if You Can and Dive Bar Saints. Or if you want to stick to covers, Everybody Walkin' This Land or Can't Stop the Feeling. You can be HollaFry?!?, since it seems we've taken to naming reactors. LOL Thanks! ^_^
“Get your wife out of the room! She hear him, she gone!” 😂 I couldn’t help but think when they show the gator, bull gators and crocs when they want to call up a female to breed emit a really low rumble, most of which can’t be heard by the human ear. It even makes the water over their back seem to boil. Evidently, it works on some women as well! Us mortal men will have to attract women in a different way!
Music opens a world of memories..... Beautiful

Cindy, on Devil Goes Down to Georgia they had 2 fiddles. Charlie Daniels and Taylor Davis I believe.
@@merlinbancroft126 yeah because they were doing with Charlie and he always has the fiddle but on their own they don't use any
@@merlinbancroft126 And also their first version of Silent Night, which was with Taylor Davis. Other than those two never any instruments.
Freak of Nature indeed for Adam Rupp.
That's not a Jews harp, it's a digeredoo. That Aussie indigenous instrument. Remember Crocodile Dundee?
What a fun reaction; start to finish!! Loved it! 😄👍 Welcome to the Home Free "Home Fries"!!
It's a wonderful thing to watch a new Home Fry come into existence! LOL
Great reactions, have to love the harmonica sound he can make with his vocals. Home Free fans are known as Home Fries.

I like how you do all music. For you Home Free week you should do HomeFree's covers of "Folsom Prison Blues" & "End Of The Road."
You are officially a Home Fry! Welcome! I’ve seen them in concert twice and they are truly A.Ma.Zing! Thanks for this! ❤️

Loving the Home Free journey. Recently, discovered them.
Man, its great to hear how diverse your reactions are. Home Free and Limp Bizkit opposite ends of the spectrum. Home Free End of the Road cover is an great one to listen to!
Tim is the only man I've ever seen or heard that could sweep me off my feet.
Tim’s bass can make menopausal women ovulate!
George Clooney did a fantastic job in his role in "O Brother, Where Art Though?"
That "buzz at the end is Adam Chance with just his mouth, a didger-do sound, and Adam Chance is also a great bass and baritone singer, too.
It is not a Didgeridoo. It is a mouth harp (or jaw harp, jew harp, and a bunch of other names.) It is a metal leaf spring kind of thing.

Actually the "Soggy Bottom Boys" was a lip sync over the song sung by Ralph Stanley.
Dan Tyminski sang lead vocal on this song in the movie. He is a member of Alison Krauss's band, Union Station.
It was written in 1913. It's an old folk song that has changed titles a couple times over the years.

It is a Bob Dylan cover......he was the original artist for the song.
I subbed to you finally. 💜 All sounds done by them, first and last sound is a jaw harp, Chance is doing it.
Their mashup of "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On" is great as well as "Mayday"
A tid bid of info song from 1962 by Bob Dylan

As a rule... I don’t listen to or really like country music more recent than the mid-90s.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. Never any instruments. So much ear candy in this piece.
Great movie. Very funny. Love this song too.
Adam is a modern Michael Winslow "Police Academy". I couldn't believe he was making that harmonica sound. Tim..really. 🤯
I think it's safe to say you are a Home Fry now. Lovin' Home Free week.💓
Man of constant sorrow was written almost 100 years ago, a bluegrass favorite
No, there are no instruments in this song at all. Everything you’re hearing is coming from their mouth‘s. These guys are incredible!

Man of constant sorrow was originally sung by Ralph Stanley. Bluegrass music
Do a double of home free god bless the usa then home free ft lee greenwood god bless the usa
Or a triple adding Home Free with Lee Greenwood and the Singing Sargents Air Force Band.
Dick Burnett sang the song originally back in 1913!😲 The version from the movie was by Dan Tyminski of the group Union Station...
Home Fries is our Home Free base
Yes sir you are correct!
This is actually a very old song. Adam Rupp does not have a harmonica, but Austin Brown the one in the middle helps when doing it live.
Please check out their "Country Fried Pop Medley". It's funny and great vocals. Keep the Home Free reactions coming.
Yes from O Brother Where Art Thou
