The matter of whether we sympathise with her and her daughter is irrelevant. Wrong actions with good intentions are still wrong.
But whatever good intentions, this is just something a mother-in-law should never do. Snooping through their room without their knowledge, going through their wardrobe, their desk and personal documents... Internet is full of pissed people letting of steam because of disrespectful mothers-in-law that didn't even need to damage their property. It's just the biggest taboo of in-law relationships.

There's no best way.. everyone can only accommodate if they had agreed on the solution.. but the issue is that Anna was kept in the dark for too long.
