- No.40 I've had my 2013 Town & Country for over 3 yrs now. It's time to replace the cabin air filter. Check out how to easily replace the cabin filter of your Town & Country Van. Have a great day.
Special Note: A viewer mention at the 2011 Town&Country does not have the two clips to take out the filter. Instead it has screws (maybe two screws). Thanks you Lee.
Saved me alot of money. Repair shop wanted $95 to replace filter when it took me about 10 minutes.
I love it when we save money. Thanks for the nice comment.
Very well explained. Most of the people don't explain about sides ( up and bottom) of the filter and how it is installed. Good job
Thank you.
My replacement filter had zero difference in sides and had no stitching on the reverse side, it of course was per the filter box exact fit for my chrysler 2014 town and country and #5005 at walmart for $11.23. There was only one way to install it with the shorter sides up and down and the wider is east west/left right. I just placed it the same way the dirty filter came out. Both the top and bottom were equal which tells me my filter didn't have to be up or down a certain way and it only fits one way. There were no arrows etc., so they have definitely changed the design. I appreciate this video as I wouldn't have even known how to do it and I didn't even know of it's existence. Also, there were a ton of leaves and junk on it too, I bought this car used and from the looks of it, it was never changed as it was black as in dirty oil black. I just checked and they say that sometimes if your air conditioner is delaying coming on it could be a result of a dirty air filter. My car was doing this. I just turned on the engine and the cool is blowing but the fast air flow still isn't there yet so I know I have something causing the delay. Do you know what may be causing such a delay? Engine is cool and I haven't driven it yet as it usually starts to blow briskly in about 1-2 minutes.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I did this on my own after watching your video in a Walmart parking lot. My air filter was GROSS. It took some extra oomph and a borrowed screwdriver, and boy am I glad the old one is in the trash. Thanks for making things so simple and going over every step at a perfect pace.
So glad I could help.
So helpful, well explained. So much better than the manual explains. I'm afraid to see what mine looks like after all of these years. My lungs thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you for visiting.
@@jonahvlogsdiy4143 I wish I could figure out how to send a picture of what mine looked like. I just tried to attach a picture, but don't think it worked. Thanks again.
Thanks. Info was helpful. Just bought a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country touring van and I love it . But since it is 5 years old I need to go through and see how well the previous owner did upkeep and maintenance.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Excellent instructional video. Because of the age and environmental factors of my mini-van, both cabin filter cover clips (left and right) snapped and broke off during removal. Dang! Duct tape to the rescue!
I love duct tape!
Saved $60 by watching this video and doing it myself. Thanks!
You're welcome. Always good to save money.
Thank you. Very very helpful. Chrysler wants to charge me over $81.00 just to replace this part and I can do it myself. Great instructions and simple.
You're welcome! Glad my video helped.
This is an excellent how to video. Good Plain English presentation. Easy to follow instructions. Well done.
Thanks John. So glad my video helped.
Not the fastest video but the pace is actually great to follow along with without having to pause or “rewind”. 4:43, is about how long it should take you to do this project. Well done.
When you have to video tape it, it takes a long time. Then you got to edit it. It took me over 5 hrs to do this video. But i'm glad it helps people out.
Took five minutes and saved me 30 bucks. Thank you sir.
No problem Kevin. Super glad my video helped you out.
Thank you!! Very simple and easy to follow. Can’t believe how dirty mine was.
Glad my video helped.
Nice pace and clear explanation, including that “damper cord” on the glove box door.
Super glad my video helped.
Very helpful. And the vidography is excellent. Kudos to the camera operator!! And the video editing. Step by step, with text annotations make this quite helpful. Thanks very much.
Agree 100%! Best I have ever seen!
Loved how easy this made changing out this filter myself!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the information!
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!! Thank you for the demonstration. Easy to follow.
You are so welcome! Thank you for the visit.
Wow! Thank you for showing me this. I never even knew I had a cabin filter and I've owned this van for at least three years! Tomorrow is payday, perfect time to go buy a filter! 😊
Glad I could help! Good luck on your DIY and thanks for the visit.
😊 thanks I did it today very easy. Thanks again for teaching us
My pleasure 😊 Thank you for watching Laura.
Great video. Completed my filter change in 2 minutes. Saved me $10.
Thanks Tank Er. Glad my video helped out.
75 bucks at the dealer. Cost me 15 bucks for the filter and 0 for installing it myself. Thanks
Should be noted that not all filters get the glue strip on the bottom. Pay attention to the airflow indication arrows on the side of the filter. The air in this box flows downward. Regardless of what side your glue strip is on, the arrows for airflow should face downward.
Awesome tip Mountainman! Thanks for letting our viewers know.
Well done and well lit so we could see all the parts and clips.
Thanks John. So glad the video helped.
This video is also appropriate for the 2015 model year T&Cs.
I have never understood why some think an automotive-related repair/replace video needs background music. Some are outright loud and/or obnoxious. I remember one guy had to talk over the outside wind noise *and* the music, and I could barely understand him. I was at least able to understand your instructions, but still, the music is too loud and unnecessary. I thought the pace of the video was a bit slow, but I've also seen videos that rush through the process and sometimes even skip steps that a n00b needs to see. You don't make any assumptions on the knowledge of your viewers. I especially appreciated that you showed which side of the new filter was on the bottom. I had already pulled mine out and shook out all of the leaves and loose particulates before I realized that I hadn't taken note of the side that was down. Also, my filter was three years old and much dirtier than yours, so I will be paying closer attention to this in the future, especially since I now know where the filter is and how to retrieve it.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching. On my latest videos i have turned down the music...lol.
So simple for this change-out. I do not know why anyone would pay a mechanic to do this. Filter available on Amazon really inexpensive. Same as original. Good jobe of showing this procedure. I do the same for my Mazda vehicles as well and save a bundle. Cabin air and engine air are simple changes.
Always feels good when we do it ourselves.
Fabulous great job. thank you so much. it just cost me big money at dealer this morning.... won't do that again.... thank you. I am a senior single woman on fixed income
So glad the my video helped Carol. Thank you.
Excellent video, one of the best. They are $15 at O'Reillys.
Thanks. So glad my video helped.
We all learn something NEW everyday!!
Yes you're right. Thanks for the visit.
Awesome, great alerts. They charge an arm and a leg to replace that filter. Save money, do it yourself!
Thanks Bill. Now the viewers know the car dealers charge a lot. Hope my video helped.
Thank you very much. God bless you, for the instructions!
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful!
Air flows from the top towards the bottom since I’m assuming from the debris being caught on top. The line in the middle doesn’t not indicate bottom for all filters. You could add the direction of flow in this tutorial.
Good to know John. Thanks for the tip.
I never knew my van has a cabin air filter. I'm getting a Febreze filter so it always smells nice.
I love it! Let us know if its worth using Fabreze. Never used it before.
Perfect video thanks
You're welcome! Glad it helped out.
Thank you, I didn’t know it would be that easy
glad my video helped out Muhamad
Video helped me with getting behind the glovebox, but apparently the 2010 Town & Country doesn't have clips to get the filter out. Looks like at least two screws involved, but not at an angle I can see em. Which means it's more involved than I'd hoped. Guess I can see why they changed to a clipped cover in 2011.
Thanks so much for sharing this info with our viewers. I will mention it in my description box.
I also have the same issue. It doesn't even appear that it is behind the glove box. Still trying to locate?
Good job with this!
Thank you
Big help! Thanks!!
No problem Scott. Glad my video helped.
I had NO idea ANY vehicle had a cabin air filter until today...I just ordered one for my 2011 Chrysler Town and Country van today and my Jeep Patriot. Thank you so much. I only have the use of one arm&hand but it looks like even I can do this. By any chance do you now the part number for the 2011 Town & Country's back up camera module? My back up camera module doesn't work when it gets wet and I'd like to replace it with a new one and seal the new one before I install it. I read conflicting articles on the internet as to where it's located as well and not ready to dismantle my van to find out I'm in the wrong spot. Anyway, this one looks easy. Thanks!!!
Well done! Thanks.
You're welcome.
Thanks for posting that
Glad my video helped Rey.
Thank you...very helpful. Nice tune as well. Bill
Thanks Bill. Glad my video helped.
Auper! Thanks Jonah!
No problem Ray. Thank you for the visit.
Thanks it helps me
You're welcome. Glad my view helped.
I just paid $35 to have this done. Now i feel like a complete moron. Wish i would have watched this first
Sorry to hear that. But you know next time.
You just saved yourself few times more than 35 by watching it after you paid. i was at the dealer today, inquired and was told about $60.00 installed, i know it is not that difficult, so i went to Autozone, picked up a K&N which is one time cost of $45.00 + the cleaning kit, now I came watched the video and after I replace it tomorrow I will feel the dealer guys are the morons! That simple!
Thanks, much appreciated
So glad my video helped. You're welcome.
I did it wuauu thanks for the instructions
You're welcome. Thanks for the visit.
well done!
Thank you and thanks for the visit.
Great video, God bless
Thank you! You too!
Thank you
glad my video helped
Thank You 😊 A++
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Brilliant!
Thanks
Nice video.....
Nice 👍 job
Thank you Shiela.
Good video overall, thank you. But music was WAY too loud & repetetive and distorted your speech. Still giving thumbs up.
Thanks for the tip Ken. I'll keep the music low next time.
I got my van used, I've had it for a little over a year and in all the times I've gotten the oil changed not once have they asked me about the cabin air filter. Always the main air filter, until yesterday. From the looks of my filter I'll bet it's never been changed, it's a 2014 and the filter was so gross and full of leaves. I didn't even know I had a 2nd air filter. Thank you for this video! Question for you, what is the dampening chord?
bepamprd the dampening cord keeps the glove box from plopping down when you open it. With the dampening cord it just gradually flows to the open position when opening.
so glad my video helped. the chord just holds the the glove box in place.
Main thing is which way the filter goes per the air flow arrow and he missed the most important step
well first I emptied the junk I put in the glove compartment, then I took out what the mice put there. All kinds of chewed up paper and literally... crap. Thought the filter would be chewed through, not the case, now I have to figure out where else those &$@(&%&* mice got in!
Wow that's crazy.
Is this for the rear ac ?
My car has only front AC filter.
my van smells like a bad date changed this and a lot better
Lol. You're right about that.
How to replace the fuel filter?
Sorry Al. I haven't had that problem with the Van yet.
Can anyone help identify the white clips wire harnest on the left side of the filter cabin. I got wire cut. Im wondering if thats why my front blower isn't working.
i'm not sure if that's the reason why the blower is not working. Hopefully some of the viewers can answer your question.
Your old filter is filled with carbon charcoal...it looks more dirty than you think.
Thanks for the info, but i really think mine was too dirty. Doesn't hurt to put a new one in.
The new filter has an AIRFLOW arrow ( - - > ) on it that should be pointing downwards when installed.

Thanks for sharing that info. Now our viewers know.
Very helpful instructional video but sure could have done without the music - annoying!
You know you could have gotten the SAME filter, less money at any parts house, right? There are only a couple of filter manufacturers..they just put on the label of who ever buys them...
Yes you're right. Next time I'll probably order in Amazon.
Informative video. But no need for music or pop ups. Too slow.
I'll remember that for next video. Thanks.
Excellent, but your presentation was a little slow
Hopefully I'll get a little better.
Its a CABIN air filter, not a air cabin filter...
lol
How old are you? This is some guy in his 60's wanting badly to sound like he's in the know....never give a camera to a lonely man.
lol
I just did this all by myself - thank you so much 🥹
Great job! Glad my video helped.
Well done. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
You're welcome & thanks for the visit.
