Every film Emma Thompson is in is light years better because she is in it. It's something about her voice I think. She always makes you believe the character she is playing is a real, genuine person.
And it’s why her version of Sense and Sensibility remains my favorite and why I own many movies with her in it. Much A Do, Stranger Than Fiction, Remains of the Day, Saving Mr Banks, etc. They’re all the better because she’s in them.

I've noticed that with a lot of British actresses, there seems to be kind of an underlying mischievous wit, even in their dramatic performances. It's irresistible. Emma Thompson has that quality in spades -- Helen Mirren and Rebecca Hall too.

I saw this film this week and I think EVERYONE should see it!! It really made me think about relationships and how we just don't communicate with each other. Daryl McCormack is exceptional in that he can tell you things just using his facial expressions and Emma Thompson is truly identifiable as the unfulfilled middle aged, 'disappointed with life' woman. I felt really emotional afterwards just thinking about the story. Well done to all involved!!
This is what I'm talking about and I wish that American Studios would go this route. It's nice to see an older female in a romantic lead with a young man. Granted the premise; BUT it looks to be a tear jerker of a movie aka star crossed lovers (parsing from the title and assuming that Daryl McCormack is the titular Leo Grande.) Well done Lionsgate. I look forward to a grand performance.

It's a topic that's 50,000 times more important than 50 Shades of Gray. I will absolutely watch it because Emma Thompson is in it. I have no doubt there will be tears and outrageous laughter and lessons learned by the end. I loved 'Love Actually', but she stole the show all by herself listening to Joni Mitchell and dealing with emotional devastation in the most British housewife way possible. Can't wait to see this.

I can't remember the last time a movie trailer has made me anticipate a film this much. The only reason I stopped to watch is because I saw Emma Thompson was in it, and now I am really looking forward to seeing this.
