Too big for me when traveling and I need that extra monitor for productivity and watching late night movies at bed. Settled for regular tab s9.

Just got the s9 Ultra Tablet. It's great for watching movies... which is why I got it. I replaced a fairly new M2 iPad Pro for it My M2 just wasn't as good 😕. If you want a GREAT screen that you can maybe not take around outside but inside this is a good Tablet for that it's not super complex like a laptop but you can work like one, but mine is for entertainment purposes.
I have both the largest iPad and the S9 ultra, both with the most expensive keyboard options and I used them as laptops (S9 in DEX, of course).
Both have their strong points as goes also for the keyboards. At the moment I don't even use my iPad and it's off. I can really recommend it for everyone except Apple sheep.
The wider and larger screen make it more practical.
I also have the TAB S5e and if you want portable this is for you! Wow, the thinnest tablet I ever seen!
The Tab S9 Ultra does not compete with the iPad Pro 12.9; the Tab S9 Plus does. The Ultra only has Lenovo as competition and maybe some Windows 2-in-1's. So comparing two different sizes is not fair as if you want/need 15-inches then the iPad would not even be on the short list!
It's a beast for sure, like a laptop screen detached from its keyboard.
Watching on my Galaxy Tablet 7+, my 4th Samsung tablet & 6the Android tablet, Galaxy Samsung Galaxy AMOLED Tablets have always been the best tablets to buy, even better than iPads.
Just got my S9 yesterday. I definitely will be using it for travel and media consumption as well as light work.
It's the best tablet ...worth every penny quality and powerful
I have the Tab s8 Ultra and just upgraded / traded it to this Tab s9 Ultra. Picked it up yesterday. Haven't opened it yet. The cover should be coming today. Couldn't wait to use it.

i'm an android enthusiast(i'm subscribed to android authority and xda) and a digital artist who just likes to draw before sleeping. So, I'm thinking of upgrading from tab s6 to this.
You might want to check out the Tab S9+ or even S8+ as alternatives. I've had the Tab S7+ for 3 years now. I love it overall, but even with its smaller (than the Ultra) display, it's a bit clonky to use in bed, other than consuming media with the keyboard's kickstand attached.

if you have the money and want more real estate go w/ ultra but the plus model are MORE than enough swear
@@innocenceo0o I got it and loving it. Some drawing apps(clipstudio paint) are very similar to desktop ones so yeah totally worth the screen size and price.

About the size:
For me, the Plus tablets are the perfect size. The ~11 inch tablets are just slightly too small to read small text in things like e-textbooks, PDFs, digital comics, etc., without a lot of pinching and zooming.
The 12.4 inch Plus models are just big enough to read that small text without pinching and zooming (hey, I'm getting old), but about the maximum weight that I can cradle in my arms for extended periods of time on the couch (say, for an epic e-book reading session).
Further, the 12.4 inch form factor seems to be the maximum for using swipe input easily. Any larger, and swipe input would get obnoxious.
I've never used the 14+ inch Ultra tablets, but I'm pretty sure that for me, it would be a strictly tabletop device.
My use case is odd, I'll admit. I don't stream Netflix, I don't do much gaming, nor am I an artist in need of a digital sketch pad. I'm mostly reading e-books, browsing social media, light office app use, or watching UA-cam. From the reviews I've watched or read, the Ultra is an absolute dream for artists in need of a digital pen and a tablet to draw on.
I use mine for productivity. Word is great but would really like if PowerPoint was full suit as on PC. But not having Windows drama and updates etc to deal with is a huge plus
Samsung should do a fold version of this, don't know how much worse the crease would be though

I would very much like to purchase, however I need to consider the price. I'll likely buy the 1tb, however this is well into laptop or desktop PC money.
I tested the s9 series of tablets, personally think the S9 base version is the best option since it has the same screen, just smaller.
this is meant to be more of a laptop replacement which it cannot live up to.
.. beg to differ, but it depends on your usage.. bought this to upgrade my old HP laptop & use it as such too; hate windows & I find Android much more intuitive 🤓😅

Exactly! I got a Samsung Tab A 10. 2019 . And I wanted a bigger screen , so I bought S8 ultra for $699 compared to S9 ultra for $1100. I couldn't see any difference between two at the store display. So I save $400-$500. When s10 ultra come out s9 ultra price is going to drop at least to $799 give or take.
Took advantage of a recent deal on the Samsung website... Tab S9 Ultra is $100 off and $700 trade-in credit for my 11" Tab S8. I couldn't say no! Loving the new tablet
I miss the Ultra tablet. I had the Tab S8 Ultra and through many tests, it passed with flying colors. Its just app support that hurts the android tablet market. Samsung's ecosystem has come a long way!
I replaced an old iPad with this device in January, and I am not disappointed at all! I've been using Galaxy phones since 2013, starting with the Note 3, so I'm happy and comfortable with the Android "ecosystem." The Note series phones and now the S24 Ultra all have the pen, which I make a lot of use of for notes, etc., so the pen with the tablet will be a significant improvement over the old iPad. Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for, in my opinion.

I'm watching your video on my s8 ultra tablet. My next upgrade will be the s12 ultra tablet.
Something that’s bothering me recently is the Ultra keeps losing internet connection. I have to toggle WiFi on and off for it to reconnect. I’ve seen others online with the same complaint but no fix. Anyone out there experiencing same? I really love this tablet and don’t want to get rid of it.

It's a known wifi 6 issue. Look it up. Lots of us are having this problem .
This is the best tablet on the market, period. It’s even HEAPS better than the ipad pros. Just wish samsung would make a better keyboard case, like apple’s floating keyboard.

I think Android tablet competitor in the future not going to be IPad but it will be windows tablet. The Snapdragon X Series can compete with Mchip from apple now and there's multiple brand that has access to that chip like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oneplus etc.. Windows on arm is also getting better.. it won't make sense for people to buy premium tablet with Android OS. Google has enough time where they have no competition to make their Android better for tablet experience and for pro users to work on their tablet but they simply ignore that opportunity

Agreed, it's a bit "too much" for what the vast majority of people use a tablet for. It's really a laptop substitute/alternative with a better display, speakers, battery life, etc.
So it's great for content consumption, creation, Zoom calls or livestreaming, and productivity (DeX) at home -- but far less ideal for gamers and for those who are constantly out & about with their tablet.
My Galaxy Tab S7+ is still rocking strong 💪🏻, and its 12.4" display is plenty large enough of a tablet canvas for me. If I want a more expansive view than that, I can always Cast any movie or video to my 50" TV.
This is a great device for people who are overpaid and have a very large house but the average American who is struggling just won't be able to fathom owning such a device

What Android tablets lack is Procreate. The alternative apps don't do justice.

In my opinion, the iPad Air 5 with the m1 chip is the best all around tablet you can basically recommend to anyone.
I think "all around" is a subjective and relative term.
The Air 5 is a fine tablet, no doubt, but as usual, Apple screws their customers by not providing onboard expandable storage (all Galaxy S Tabs have a micro-SD card slot). They also limit its appeal for gamers by locking the display-refresh rate @ 60 hz, and a stylus (Apple Pencil) is not included (unlike Samsung).
Last but certainly not least, the front-facing camera is in a terrible position for landscape Zoom or FaceTime calls, as well as for livestreaming. The less-expensive iPad gen 10 gets this right, as do all recent Samsung tablets, the Pixel Tablet, and the OnePlus Pad.
If one "must" buy an M-chip-powered iPad right now, the base 11" M2 iPad Pro (128 GB) @ $800 US represents a much-better value than the 256 GB iPad Air 5 @ $750.
We should see very soon what the M3 iPad Pros bring to the table. The Air is overdue for at least a chip upgrade, and hopefully there will be other feature tweaks.
I think a Chromebook plus laptop is a better buy 💯
So this Tablet is £1300 and it has OUTDATED old SD8 gen 2 - for £999 you can have Galaxy Book 2 PRO 15inch - 16GB 512GB and i7
That's cause this is last yrs tablet and still Samsung's latest as a "Tab 10" has not been announced by Sammy. Not sure why they are reviewing this now as if it's new...Perhaps just get some views. I was hoping AA would have the inside scoop as to when the Tab 10 will drop.
@@Docfly62 The Tab S10 line is not due until 2025, so this is what Samsung tablet fans will have to buy this year! Apple releases their new OLED iPads next month which will be the best but likely to be very expensive.

but it's not a tablet and you can't detach the screen. Plus the tablet will have higher brightness, better oled quality, and higher ppi. not very comparable.
If you're going to review an Android tablet, the least you can do is take off your Apple watch.
