Never leave your friends. Never go to unfamiliar homes. In college I got robbed of my purse, keys, everything bc I stupidly went to a party alone at an unfamiliar house. It was my neighbor so I figured I was safe but these two guys conned me. One flirted and distracted me and the other grabbed my bag right off my arm and ran out of the house. It was horrible. I was 2 states away from home. No car/house keys or id or cards or money. Im lucky I wasn't physically harmed.

As someone who partied a lot in my younger years, here is my two cents. Some ppl get very violent and aggressive when intoxicated. After a few drinks, the slightest thing will set them off. Its like Jerkyl and Hyde thing. The victim just ran into one of those guys. And the perps sh itty friends helped him cover it up. I have seen some of those types (men and womem) in my day and it can be a jaring experience. One minute you are having a good time, another minute they are picking a fight with the bartender, the bouncer or anyone. Thats why i dont hang out socially with ppl i dont know. And i avoid anyone who gets aggressive when drinking and try to exclude them from my social circles. Such ppl once drinking are a ticking time bombs. If it wasnt this poor guy, that dude would have eventually killed someone else intoxicated.

Lots of alcohol, testosterone, party girls and often cocaine offer a backdrop that easily leads to tempers flaring and bad judgement. I wondered at first if the jeweler wanted someone to take over his business and legacy since he was childless…and tried to redeem a bad boy into a golden child, as it were. Since the jeweler might have been gay I thought that could be a possibility. However as this story wound on I slid more toward the belief that it was a way to cover up a relationship of a very different sort. I’m not sure that had any bearing on what happened to Joey other than the fact that these young men had way too much money and time on their hands and Joey was a little star struck by the invitation. Someone under the influence can definitely turn into a rage monster and instead of taking Joey to the hospital for injuries and going to jail for assault (and drugs) they made a horrible situation even worse. Rest in peace, Joey, you were well loved and justice was served.
