    Why does every 911 Operator sound like an aggravated lady getting a wrong number call right before bed?? Lady hears gunshots, it's 911, and she's saying "hello?!?" with a tone in her voice like HER time is being wasted...

    • @jayweh
      @jayweh 2 місяці тому +5

      I watch so many true crime shows, and no, 99 percent don't sound like your description.

    • @xtraspecialj
      @xtraspecialj 2 місяці тому +30

      @@jayweh I also watch a crap ton of these (probably 2 to 4 a day) and I wholeheartedly disagree with you... Nearly every single one of them sound exactly like this lady... They sound annoyed at the caller and they often don't tell them that there's someone on the way until the caller gets aggravated at being asked what seem like unimportant questions and say something like "Will you please just send somebody now and ask me these questions later!?" to which the operator will then snap back with "I've already notified them, they're en route as we speak!", like the freaked out caller should've magically known that somehow...
      I've seen hundreds and hundreds of these videos and shows and I'd say a good 3 or 4 out of 5 of the operators are like this.
      Every now and then you get a nice one who understands that the caller is going through an incredibly stressful situation and thus the operator doesn't take the caller's frantic tone personally. But, they are definitely the exception and far from the norm.

    • @Elena-fe3os
      @Elena-fe3os 2 місяці тому +5

      No, not all ...and have in mind that many calls to 911 are pranks, or made by drunks . Dispatchers' job is to keep the caller on and get as much info as they can, to identify location, assailant, weapons, situation , while communicating with police forces, or emergency responders.

    • @jayweh
      @jayweh 2 місяці тому +2

      @@xtraspecialj I disagree with you. 95 percent of 911 operators I've heard in these shows are helpful, calm, succinct. character traits they need when dealing with a stressed person who can't think clearly.

    • @xtraspecialj
      @xtraspecialj 2 місяці тому +7

      @@jayweh Then you're either watching some VERY different shows than me or you're not very good at hearing emotion in people's voices... I'll agree they're all succinct, helpful, and, overall, yes, they're calm. But my point is they're often quite aggravated sounding. Probably because most of the calls that come in are not true emergencies or are fairly mundane emergencies. They're so jaded by the job at that point that every caller is just another aggravating person for them to deal with, even when it's an actual high stakes emergency like someone dying.
      At the end of the day it doesn't matter, so long as they do their job. I just always find it odd how unsympathetic many of them sound to these people in these situations.

    Good to see James Brown’s professionalism on 48 Hours. I was familiar with the story and nearly turned it off until I saw Mr. Brown and heard the retelling of this tragedy.
    On a side note, I have got to say, to all the men stimulated by the eye candy that rely’s upon the fake hair, fake nails, and overall fake beauty, you need to take a look at what you are truly lusting after: 33:25 - 33:30 minute marker. Please don’t let lust convince you that you are experiencing true committed love.😢
