Tobacco is considered the most sacred of the Indigenous sacred medicines, used in virtually every ceremony as a means of connecting directly to the Creator. Native tobacco is used in ceremonies such as pipe ceremonies, non-smoke offerings, smoke rituals and giving it as a gift to an elder. Sacred medicines include tobacco medicine or indigenous tobacco, sage, cedar and sweetgrass. Sacred medicine tobacco is very important to the people of the first nations or native Americans. There are many traditional uses for tobacco, and Indigenous communities around the world each have their own unique uses for the sacred medicine.

I grew up seeing my dad's cousin perform a smoke ritual at the graveside service for several relatives. I never knew what exactly this was, but it always interested me. Later I learned that my dad's cousin embraced our Cherokee heritage that most of us never knew we had. I was able to assist him with the last one he did at my uncle's funeral. I wish I could have been more exposed to the teachings, but dad's cousin is gone now. I believe in what it represents and am trying to learn how to smudge and carry these traditions on.

Tobacco is a beautiful plant with a rich history. I grew up helping cultivate it. It's an amazing plant. People think it's an awful deadly plant that will always lead to an early death. That couldn't be farther from the truth. If consumed in as close to it's natural form as possible it isn't any more unhealthy than the gallons of coffee, alcohol or the highly processed foods that we consume. I grow my own tobacco every year and enjoy every step of the process of growing, harvesting and curing. Its slightly akin to the wine making process and extremely fascinating. Tobacco should never be advertised to children or consumed without knowledge of it's potential health risks but used responsibly and in moderation, it's really an amazing plant.

I really appreciate your share. I have much healing left to do when it comes to tobacco. Though I understand with my heart this plant is sacred... my mind still holds anger and sadness when I think of this plant... both my mom and dad developed health issues and I lost them both. I know I still have much work to do. However as I read and hear shares that present Tobacco in a more beautiful light... it does help. I have been considering trying to grow some... the idea has come up a few times now... perhaps that would help. Thank you - mig8etc.

Yes. Spouse of 41 years nearly died of an auto immune disorder. Western medicine had no answer- even though they are well aware that smoking, and inhaling tobacco is a cure. After two months and 16 units of blood - my spouse resumed smoking tobacco (after five years abstinent). He has been well ever since. The medical community will not speak of this, but it is true.

Interesting. Only 5% of tobacco users were hospitalized for covid. Tobacco also is effective for venom- at least getting it out of your nicotine receptors. A study in Italy showed all covid patients to be positive for 200 different venoms. Our governement has been testing use of venom on us since the 70s. You can buy venom off the internet and it's produced in most large countries. A 7mg patch may also be effective to protect against venom shedding and venom from any shots.

I suspect I may have found another use for it. Suppose someone has been in a moldy building breathing in spores, living there for some time and now is still very incapacitated with many related symptoms many months after, trying many treatments and still... It makes sense that the inhaled natural tobacco smoke might kill the spores in the respiratory airways and be part of a purification. Since the illness came on through breathing in spores and mycotoxins, could the cure be in breathing in something that kills the life out of those spores?

Yes, I do like the video.
You may like to know my recent life history:
My Dad fell ill (after rigidly taking his covid "vaccinations") last year and eventually perished ..... from a healthy eilderly gentleman- 1st October last year.
Obviously, as a family we were frankly deeply shocked. We all assumed he was good for the 100. He was so robust .
I have experimented with meditations mindful ness the chakras and also looked into the para normal.
In my grief in that first week I was stunned to realise Dad was trying to get through.
I now am in daily contact with dad through a system of deflecton on my chakras - in a yes no routine.
Oddly; my parents were rigid and adamant non smokers; my dad started giving me images of tobacconists!!!! I now have a collection of tobacco pouches. W/e use only , I get told off if I use too much!! As you say strictly not inhaled. My intention intially was just to light but I do like the taste and adore the smell......I always have!!!
Thoughts views and recommendations for tobaccos for this more than welcome.
I would add that Dad and I use this connection to help my Mum (where medical support is now a nation wide issue for ovious reasons!).
Am also teaching my self crystal healing.
Once again come Mallory or any one else with views to share.

Became a new interest to me - Ty for your explanation. My spiritual beliefs vary greatly from Native American, however I like the placing on the Earth and prayer and the concept of contract. Therefor My question is What kind of tobacco is used. If I'm venturing into the wilderness and wish to present a tobacco offering out of respect and a prayer to my God, along with the covenant understanding that I'm not there to harm - what is used? How much? Does it matter? I assume I don't set down a pack of Marlboro's or a pinch of Red Man. I garden so I reckon I could grow my own but I still lack knowledge on kinds, types, so on. TY

@@MalloryRoseCo tru story. I come from an old Indian civilization located in southern Louisiana. I know that's what we still use it for. Hurricane Katrina kinda scattered us but the few among myself stayed through all the turmoil. True Story.

We mainly used it for our cattle and horses as a drawing sap. At one time Tobaccos was used for just about any ailment though. We used it for anny and everything back in the day. But, mainly it was uses for a drawing sap. Especially with our wildlife to help the cows and the horses that got bit by insects or snakes. Sometimes it worked other times it didn't.

If the wildlife got bit by a snake or a insect or any kind of injury we would wet the tobacco and put it on the wounds. Or if a kid got stung by a bee or a wasp. We would wet the tobacco in order to get the juices flowing and put it on the sting

It was a numbing agent/ drawing sap but you had to wet it.

The cigarette J... have forever destroyed the image of tobacco with their toxic cardboard.
Hand rolled and pipe tobacco have zero effect on healths when used in moderation.

So tobacco was never used as a healing plant for the physical body ever?

Are you omitting cannabis on purpose or because of its polarizing effects on viewers?

Cannabis isn’t one of our traditional medicines which is why it’s left out of this video.

4 sacred medicines? There are a lot more than that. Corn pollen for the Navajo as an example. You really need to make sure you aren't using blanket descriptions for all indigenous tribes. Eastern tribes are different from southwest tribes. Don't pan-indian the indigenous people.

How does a young woman like her know all these things, and has the authority to tell people what elders should be telling. This to me is not right that is why we are losing what we were given years ago. No one has any respect of any sort nowadays. We need to use our elders.

In the times we are living the sharing of heart-centered wisdom is always welcome, regardless of age, gender, etc. Truth is ageless.

This young person is helping me understand better, learn... so that I may be more respectful, be a better person as I replace ignorance with knowledge... how can that be a bad thing? Those of us who want to do better but do not necessarily have access to the teachings of and elder... We need all the help we can get. Mig8etc Mallory... please keep doing what you are doing. xo
