“When I’m on the Grom, nobody sees me.” I felt that statement in my soul.
On my thousand mile road trip to Kansas on my Rebel 300, I was heading back to town, needed my right hand for something, reached over and took the throttle with my left and Engine died at 70 mph. I was so scared my bike had just died. I coasted to a stop, and fiddled with the bike to I realized what had happened. I felt so dumb xD. Luckily I was in the middle of nowhere Kansas, so no one saw. Lol
Don't worry, you are a real person. One of THOSE days, we all get them. You met some nice people. That's a plus. ☺

When I had my Grom it was the same thing everywhere I went. Never had a question about the FZ09 or the CB300R, I became invisible when I sold the Grom 🤣

Cars not respecting or seeing the mini-motos is one of the reasons I want to get rid of mine. They are great fun if you live in a low-traffic area. But I live in a military town and people constantly try to bully me out of a lane or jump in front of me, no matter how fast I'm going. It's just not worth it anymore.

Photogromer, the OG dude from Grom stuff, made a video essentially saying Goodbye UA-cam .. for a while, unsure how long if it's 2 months or 2 years.
Point being, you have good timing on uploading Grom stuff again, there was just one of the original Grom UA-camrs drop off.

3:00 the car driver had right of way. You didn't proceed on the designated left turn light. It was a plain green light where the oncoming right turn vehicle has right of way. Let me know if I'm missing any detail that the video doesn't show please.

I dont know where you are but at 3:00 you don't have an arrow there, and it looks like the car in the left turn lane started to move forward, making me assume they had a green too. If both of you had a green light then left turns have the lowest priority and you should have yielded to him turning right.

would a grom make a good first bike?
Depends what you’re looking for! It’s definitely easy to learn to ride on one, but it’s not the most capable bike ever, so you’ll likely outgrow it eventually. I see it as more of a great secondary bike that you can take out to have fun and mess around on.

Progressive! They’re all I use for any of my insurance and they’re insanely inexpensive for what you get!
Not sure why last time I applied, they quoted me $2k (paid in full for 12months)
That's what I'm saying. I got a quote from progressive for a grom and it was 500 a year. Though I did just file a claim last year for hail damage to my car.
