I'll just pass on what I see with Boron at the v4 pass. We were testing low at tissue for the full plant as well as soil tests in the .4ppm range. So a 5ppm on Boron at tissue test. We applied a 5% B at 1 pt per acre and after v7 and up the Boron uptake showed sufficient, ending around 12ppm. Wouldn't have thought 1 pint would do it, but it did.
You're corn looks good john. Still have most of my corn to side dress yet. But with all the rain its prolly better that i didnt do it yet. Still cant drive in the fields yet. I like dryer years by me.
@e.a.bfarms historically alfalfa responds very well. There was a lecture about calcium. Using a high quality calcium as a fertilizer on alfalfa gave more leaves and bigger leaves.
Yeah. Have a video about runoff and money coming. With the flooding I was waiting to determine level of disclaimer. Lot of dark green corn now that will be yellow very early. I held back N feeding as long as I could and only put half out there. Still got 4 inches in one night on it...
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 You worried the truth will offend?? I'm hoping the biology held most of the poultry manure in place or had turned some of the n into more stable forms. We'll see. I didn't have any runoff though or drown out spots! didn't get 4 inches in a night though either.
Curious on that source product... 1 oz is diddily squat but if it works it works is the question. That Microboost how much is that per acre for average dosage? They must have other mixes for other crops as well?
@farming4g he has a lot of customers in North Dakota. Yeah some of the jugs will say like Alfalfa corn grass and the other one would be for soybeans peas type stuff I thought that was 1 qt per acre
It's a stimulator. When you foliar feed think about a 10 bushel response from a couple lbs of nutrients, clearly the amount of nutrients don't make the bushels, but they stimulate the plant to get more nutrients.
@mn-1381 no. LOL, it is really getting better by the day Next year will be better and a guy can do a lot of testing. This year I was just making sure no matter what let's get something out there at V3 to V5
Are you going to foliar feed soybeans this year? I would like to do something with mine , just don’t know what to do yet. Way too wet here, guys are still trying to get first crop hay off🤦🏻♂️
Awesome to be on that "improvement adventure not a rescue program".

It's pretty amazing how throwing a little bit on the plant creates a stimulant to go get more

@tonyposselt6660 yeah, glad we are spoon feeding N. Second pass is a couple weeks yet.
Id be curious your experience with source on a good field. I know a couple guys with mixed results.
Yeah I guess we'll find out
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I'd like to try some on Alfalfa, Grass, and Silage Corn next year.

@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 Yeah, I have mixed gypsoil in my potash for several years for calcium.
We've had perfect rains for the lighter ground in my neck of the woods. Its making dry hay that's been difficult.
Lot of ditch fertilizing this year! And river and ocean fertilizing....

@ryecarlson7867 No, but when people are losing homes and businesses in an extreme year, I would be sensitive or tactful.
If only every farmer had a crystal ball to know the minute that the rain hits, how much each field gets etc etc. Farmers ain’t magicians.
@@MustangsTrainsMowers I know
Very interested in what your results will be
I would swear two days later the corn had a little better look to it

Looks good to me, but I’m not a farmer
@@TheBnbonthebeach thanks, it doesn't matter if it's a lawn Lori field if it's dark green and grow and it's looking good
The crop looks like it is really starting to turn the corner and take off! Are you doing a regular tissue test or a sap test?
@mn-1381 no. LOL,
it is really getting better by the day

@timpingel9607 absolutely I am. Starting around R1 and make several trips all the way to R5
All and all, not bad looking
@AlextheDutchDairyfarmer thanks. 1 field has me a little nervous. As of now it's 100 acre shit show.
See the same thing here definet K deficancy on our saturated soils
Good. OK not good but atleast I am not crazy.
We spray impact post on corn .75 oz per acre i dunno how the weeds dod but they do .. some strong stuff!
That's right there's a couple of herbicides that are ridiculously low
You're missing a few things Jon, 1st is your lab coat and 2nd are your goggles, osha's not gonna be happy!
