My friend raced in the series Butch mock he also raced in the nascar sportsman series he later owned the 75 nascar with Morgan Sheppard and Rick Wilson
Ran with your dad Robert Huffman in the dash series. He helped with a Daytona body on one of my cars. I raced the 4 cylinders, then 6 and went to larger tires all in the late 1990’s. Some of the best racing around.
A guy from Shelby,Billy Standridge, started in dash cars. Later, he moved to Bush. I crewed for him a few times at Martinsville, and once at Charlotte. Fun times
Hey mate, love to see an old Dash car! We had the Dash cars at Summerville Speedway (S.C.) when I raced there in 94... I really liked the series a lot and actually wanted to one day race in the series as a goal. What a shame they axed it
That's pretty cool. I have a complete ARCA truck engine I bought several years ago to put in a hot rod.Its a inline 4, cyl. KRP block with a Brodix head.
Man the folks at that big ass housing development must love this dude lol. Love living in Iredell, there's so much hidden gems of racecars hiding out in garages and shops.
That’s awesome man! If you wanted to try to verify if it was Jake’s car I’m sure there is something there that would show it. I would honestly like to know bc if it is that would be my grandpa’s last known Dash engine. I could get in touch with the Hobgoods if you ever wanted to. I would love to know honestly, and it’d be awesome to see some laps cut in it. The sound of that thing brings back memories man!
Alright Landon, your Dad will be so happy to see and hear an old Goodys Dash racecar, and we all would be grateful to see him turning the wheel at Hickory. This is a very nice thing, you are doing for your Dad,and you will get to see him cry tears of joy and pride.Race hard.
The Goody's Dash Series, I used to love hearing them cars going down the back straightaway at Daytona. NASCAR messed up not keeping this series. Most cars on the road today I think are V-6's, and smaller in size, this series would better represent todays cars on the road then the Cup series. Bring the Dash Series back. Great Video!
Hey Landon, old race fan here. The last time I watched your dad race in person was at Bristol at night. I can’t remember if he moved somebody for the win in three and four on the white flag lap.Or he got moved. Anyway,if you don’t remember the “baby grands”.Ask you dad about those cars. Great video. Lopez Motorsports here local in Bristol used to have a Celica Dash car in the back of their shop.Heck that’s was a long time ago now.
As a huge fan of the sport and overall history of nascar and stock car racing in general I was so fascinated this whole video! I really would love to see y’all take that thing out and your dad behind the wheel would be a very special thing to see! Make it happen y’all! Good luck!
I was really young when dash series was touring but it was a cool series.I wanted that series to be one of my stepping stones but then it went away .Can’t wait to see it run a hickory.
I remember this series, it was never promoted enough and this series was before the Internet. At the time of this series ran I was daily driving a Mercury Carpi with a 2000cc solid lifter, forged crank motor with a high lift cam and a hooker header. Guys in the gas station would ask if it was a small block from the lope and then be disappointed when I showed them an inline four! Landon mentioned ARCA and that is what I would compare Goody’s dash with, not trucks! I went to Winchester last year and was disappointed with the ARCA turnout, 12 competitive cars and several also runs! Ty dominated, Hailie sucked, I was a huge NASCAR fan ever since I was a little kid, the Wide World Of Sports, watching Daytona and other popular races. I have been to Bristol when your feet didn’t touch in the main grandstand. My proudest moment was Dale crashing on the turn two wall after sleeping through a snow storm in a tent off turn three and four! Anyone else remember that? I knew of every driver, every crew chief, every owner, had every race recorded on VHS for several years. My girlfriend could answer almost any Nascar trivia in an instant and was a huge Dale fan. Something in her died the day Dale died ! Went to Michigan for several years and camped on the infield and now I delete any mention of NASCAR from UA-cam. The only mention of NASCAR I suffer is through Channel's such as Landon’s. Don’t place all your hopes and aspirations in any series Landon, a sinking ship will only float for so long. My latest interest, and I believe the interest of the nation is dirt late models,
You haven’t been to your local short track lately then, if you feel the hope is in dirt late models. While i don’t disagree with everything you said, if you would go out and support your local short track you would be surprised at the racing you find
When I was growing up on the east coast my family piled in the Ford station wagon and visited modified tracks such as Waterford Speed Bowl and Thompson on a weekly basis. Modified racing at its finest and the best sponsored! My uncle owned a prominent east coast lounge that supported local racing. When I moved to the Midwest I followed asphalt outlaw late models at places like Plymouth Speedway, Kalamazoo and New Paris! The local racing was exciting with names like the Sweet 16 of Jim Blount and many others including his son Bobby! I helped pit for a asphalt sprint car driver at the Little 500 in Anderson Indiana and outlaw Late model drivers at Plymouth and other tracks. In that time I witnessed waning interest in asphalt racing on a whole, Plymouth covered their asphalt with dirt and are now stripping the dirt off for the 2022 season and offering a progressive season payoff for outlaw late models. I honestly hope this pays off for them! My issues with NASCAR is to many rules, to many concerns for social issues that they had NO business sticking their noses into and costs to attend races. Local tracks now charge what it once cost to attend a NASCAR race a few years ago. I am a racing fan and have been my entire life but have no interest in dealing with any social constructs while watching these events! Dirt late models are honest, door to door, down home racing with little of the bullshit involved in any form of racing covered by the Asscar banner! If reinstating Kyle Larson (the best overall race car driver in the country) to win a Asscar cup wasn’t enough to draw me back to watching NASCAR then nothing will! I like your channel, I like your “I don’t give a fuck” attitude and that is why I follow you. I attend local races, none of which are sponsored by nascar, and some regional races. With the Rona I have attended some of the least crowded and most enjoyable races I have experienced in my life. The running of the final “Hoosier 100” at the Indiana state fairgrounds being the best (won by none other than Kyle Larson)! I had an entire row of a huge grandstand to myself, I could fart and smoke cigarettes at my discretion! I wish you the very best, the way you race reminds me of the shoestring teams of my younger days, under supported and struggling to keep up with teams that are fully if not over funded. If you had this support and a little luck you would run at the front every week!
OH MAN....I MISS THAT SOUND!!!! Brings back memories!!! Can't wait to see that thing on track, and please, PLEASE, get dad in it!!!! So glad you got to drive it. That's freaking awesome!!!
I know it would be a longshot, but would be sick if the owner let u wrap it in robs whitehouse scheme for the test, major goosebumps for sure. Awesome video!

You have gotten my attention. I was working on a deal to run a Dash car at Daytona one year and the sponsor backed out at the last minute. Had my license and everything. So close but yet.
Landon im still in the hunt for an engine for my dash car which I intend to run it in the SCC series which is the stock car classics that run at Rockingham and a few other tracks. Its like a tribute to all the older Nascar style cars.
Landon, I'd like to see a Revived Goody's Dash Build or even better, having to replica build a Busch Grand National V6 Build, which Buick and Oldsmobile Protested Angrily. Also, I would want to see a Real Life Equal to Griffdawg's Summer Showdown at North Wilkesboro more than Austin, which I'd have a Hometown Friend from Lisbon that works at UT, but, Austin has no love or respect for a Car or Sports Car Culture.

Hated Nascar when they killed the series. I always believe I could build a Dash car and go racing. Keep it up. ❤
That brings back a ton of good memories. Those V6 Engines sounded so cool , and the four bangers cranking 8200 rpm's sounded amazing.
It’s a sound i haven’t heard in a long long time
Corolla bottoming out had me dying XD
