One of the heroes of the age. She married a fellow sniper in the field - their honeymoon was spent fighting Germans in a trench - and buried him there when he was killed by a mortar in 1942. She was called a master of the ‘doublet’ and would regularly stay in position for 15 to 20 hours before taking her shot. Her longest duel against a German sniper lasted 72 hours.

Instead be thankful towards the many who fell in battle to grant these liberties of being able to enjoy carefree moments.

Lyudmila Pavlichenko speech to USA in 1942 , is an absolute witness of pride.
GREAT a girl. Lyudmila Pavlichenko was a beautiful being, courageous and worthy girl. We all are beholden to Russia, more than towards anyone else, from far. This ancient united Russia included, first Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Kasakhstan amongst others ... Without this union, no one of us would be today free or alive .
Russian people and mostly Ukrainians lost 28 million deaths, to save us, occidentals and European countries .... while we were guilty from far in this terrible war ...
