It’s so cool to see that those courthouse pillars are still remaining inside the city hall facade! Thank you for giving us a sneak peek tour of going inside the BTTF Clock Tower! :)
Um… as an ex employee of Universal Studios back in 1985 I can assure you that the original clock tower was destroyed due to an arsonist fire - Steven Spielberg paid to have the entire lot redone and scale to what was there before. I’ve actually been in the original one and it looked completely different just carpenter wood paneling. Just thought I would talk about the actual tower.
So Steven Spielberg took a flyer and SAVED THE CLOCK TOWER! The Hill Valley Preservation Society would have been most appreciative.

😂😂😂
I was there the day is burned down in 2008. Our school was supposed to take us on the backlot tour, but obviously the trip was delayed. Was the ENTIRE clock tower burned down? That's what I was told years ago, but I'm looking online now and it seems a portion of the clock tower was burned, and the entire square, but not the whole thing. Not sure which is true...
Whenever I’m on the tour and they play the clip from Bruce Almighty of the stairs/stoops that got destroyed in the fires, it just amazes me how they’re just blatantly lying and acting like the set we see is where in the film.
@@AndrewCortesi The entire Backlot... almost everything you see. The Courthouse square was also used in Gremlins but covered in fake snow. None of what you see in this video even existed.
Dear Delorean Rental I can’t Thank you enough for sharing the Clock Tower and ALL of the inside of the Tower as well. I always wanted to see what it looked like on the inside . Many thanks indeed. Thank You so much 👍👍🎬🎬
rick from San Diego.🙏🏼
A beautiful facade but inside completely empty... Like most celebrities
Their bank account is full
Great thanks, but please make camera work more fluent, slow down imagine you are the viewer, you tend to look at a subject for one second then turn back away, let it soak in :)
Agreed should have slowed it down a bit but needed to hurry up due to security. Will edit future videos to slow down a bit
I'm gonna try a slower speed, but this was cool!
Agreed, I'm getting dizzy watching this. Cool content though.
ADHD FILM MAKING
@deloreanRental that was going to be my guess, that you were pressed to get in and out! Thankfully I’ve seen a different video that kind of explained some of the stuff you showed!
This is heavy.
Weight has everything to do with it.
Is there a problem with the earth’s gravitational pull?
There’s that word again
Great Scott! 😯
I know. This is heavy.
This is freaking cool!! Never knew what was inside.....
I enjoyed that tour inside the Court House. It's obviously strictly functional in there, but seemingly well built enough. It's famous for BTTF but has loads of TV/movies it's featured in. Good job thanks 👍
Amazing to see and it is nice to see the original pillars are still behind that facade.
This is awesome!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!!
I remember touring Universal when they were transitioning from BTTF2 to 3. It was 3/4's of the way done, dirt roads and most buildings replaced but the gas station and a few others. I am fairly certain the backside of the clock tower is a glimpse of what is left of the BTTF3 set.
Dude it's just a backstage tour of the town they built. I did that when I was ten on my bday. And got scared by Universals dumb monsters while a public tour drove by...fond memories
I took the Universal tour 1989 as a tourist and saw the square and the clocktower, it was epic then..👍🇸🇪🥰🇺🇸
Dang man. I was on the backlot and saw the clock tower like 2 weeks ago. I wish I could go on the roof
“If I could only go back to the beginning of the season put some money on the cubbies”😂
I have a sports almanac for sale if you're interested.
Cool
EDIT: After posting this i see the same comments and description so I'm a moron that should have checked first instead of being Pete the Repeat. But how in the world did you make it look like Christopher Lloyd was just walking around. I paused it and it looks just like him. LOL
This was awesome!!! But whew that camera work was dizzying. Looks like my mom's recordings from 30 years ago on her camcorder. 😂 We've become so spoiled. 10 years ago this would've seemed normal but private content creators have stepped up the game to Hollywood levels. Spoiled we are!! Thank you for this. Greatest movies in history!!
Twice ive tried to see this clock tower on the square 1st time in 1996 couldn't because jingle all the way was being shot...then in 2008 also couldn't because of a fire few months before 😒😒😩 and living in Manchester England it's a bit far to travel 😔
Nobody tell Adam the Woo. He's going to cry when he sees this.
So THIS is what the Hill Valley Courthouse Clocktower looks like from the inside. It's just a backlot backdrop facade prop with stairs in it.
The mystery is solved at last.
Awesome!!! Thank you!
Wasn't the original clock tower burned down in the 2008 fire? I was there that day - large black smoke coming from the Universal lot. But I'm looking online and there's mixed reports. Some people say the square was burned down and a portion of the clock tower, but it was all later repaired.
I don't think the clock tower was burned down. The rest of hill valley around it was.
Yes. This was the rebuilt version.
Its magic! I would love to visit that place
I wish I can visit the clocktower
Save the clock tower!!!!
Not rebuilding the clock tower exactly the same is a flap in the face
Camera too shaky, makes me dizzy!
I agree
Yep, that’s why we went through the windows and Cheryl hit the column. The one on the left of Gary and I made it through OK
Who did you play?
Potemkin Valley! Very cool
AMAZING!!!!
Cool!
I understand that part of the backlot burned completely to the ground. Was it rebuilt exactly as it was before?
Interesting fact.
The set of BTTF was also the main setting for the C B S
Paranormal series Ghost Whisperer
Always wondered what was inside!
GREAT SCOTT, MARTY!!! OUR LIFE IS A LIE!!!
Damn! Damn damn!
Too bad that none of this is original because all the original buildings were burned down in a fire and these were rebuilt in their place
That's what I was thinking. Late 90s/early 2000s. I think.
@@PatrickMcNealPuppets-n-Things It was July 2008
How did you get back their I always wanted to see what it's like to see. Wait is universal open today I thought they are closed
🕰️👍🏻
The original roof was removed and ripped off in very aggressive way tbh in 2007 and was on the backlot for about 18 months just sitting there near the props storage. The original had the 1955 brickwork and also grey paneling used for bruce almighty which some panels had fallen off. We got photos and was able to climb through the window doc did. You could only do this because it was on the floor which was awesome. The original clock itself wasnt there at the time but the bracket was it was attached too. I dont believe the clock on the new tower is the original. I think thats in storage as it's much larger.
I don't understand why there are two tall towers inside the clock tower building. What am I missing here besides a few IQ points?
Can you move your camera any faster?? You'd think if you're showing off a movie studio set, that you could at least film it properly.
😁😁😁🏛🚗
Why did they change the front and hide the pillars ?
To keep the original pillars/facade safe for historical purposes.
It's been re-used for so many movies and shows.
The entire place is a movie set. Why would it be kept the same? Use ya nogging a little.
It was done for the show Ghost Whisperer.
There ya go lady there's a quarter.
Hey kid throw in a hundred bucks to save the clock tower...
great vid and thank u for showing us but u could skiped the music in the background
You need some lessons in how to use a camera. You made me dizzy
Yah I agree, it’s a bit jumpy. Slow and easy.
Are you sure this isn’t the set from Ghost Whisperer🤔
Haha. I was surprised the soldiers are still there since the show hasn’t been in production for 15 years. Most of the Ghost Whisperer set was destroyed in the 2008 fire. Luckily Melinda’s store and the Courthouse survived.
That was also the Hazzard town courthouse.
Not quite. Dukes of Hazzard filmed on the Warner Bros lot, not Universal.
It’s a shell.
They should make a horror movie in inside
MORE LIKE A FILMCITY
What am i looking at?
Perfect example why actors should never be listened to. The world they live in isn't real and is as thin as plywood.
🤗❤️
But the clock wasn't active
Save the clock tower!
Yeah because lighting hit the tower 😂
That's because it strucked at 10:04 PM the moment the weather experiment is completed sending Marty to the present day but how can we save the clock what could we do?
don’t let anyone touch it. Saving the clock tower in BttF means to preserve it exactly as-is. Save the Clock Tower movement was to keep it at 10:04. In BttF 2, we saw they were successful. No one restored the clock.
@@richardmahn7589 yes but in bttf 1 mayor goldy Wilson want to replace the clock.....that's where the lady with the flyers and donation tin comes in......but also if it wasn't for her giving Marty a flyer he wouldn't be able to return to 1985
Dude leave the stickers there!
Who are you to determine what stays and what goes. Stop your power trip!
The camera work is making me dizzy
Use your Delorean to go back in time and vote REPUBLICAN and those fires wouldn't have taken your whole city.
Gotta headache trying to watch with jerky camera movements.
You are on sacred ground...
Could you show us the church of Jesus Christ
shitty music ruins the video
